This should be used as a guide to help identify parts primarily for older controls. Current products have a parts
list in the manuals. The parts have been cataloged in MN805. This will allow a user to locally find parts like
fuses, transformers, and circuit breakers we no longer stock.
Note: Older controls are often modified and may not have the original factory supplied parts.

Baldor still uses the control transformer fuses. All of these fuses should be locally available.
There are 2 types of fuses. The large power fuses are in the fuse holder mounted on the panel. There are two
brands available, Buss and Gould. The second type of fuse is a single fuse for the control power transformer.

Braking Contactor
Over a 15 year period several brands of contactors have been used. They are available locally. Baldor
may stock a simular contactor. To check, get the part number of the existing device.

Replacement SCRs/Diode and power cells
Sizes 0-3: The SCR and Diode are in the same package. Size 0, 1 and 2 are mounted in the module.
The SCR/Diode in the size 4 are separate.

The General Purpose (G controls) and the Ramp Up / Ramp Down (R controls) are no longer available.
However, some parts are still available.
The first Multipurpose Softstarter used the same parts as the G and R controls except for the module. The
current Multipurpose product line has a complete spare parts list in the manual.

Control Module
The Control Module is no longer available. The Multipurpose module can be used as a replacement. For sizes
0, 1, 2 (G and R controls), a replacement control is required. For sizes 4-7 and D-J a replacement module can
be used. For 60Hz applications use the MB8X, and for 50Hz applications use the MB9X. A conversion manual
is included with each Multipurpose module.

Circuit Breakers
The Circuit breakers used were Westinghouse and later on Square D. Baldor no longer stocks these breakers
and we no longer have an OEM buying agreement from these manufactures. Westinghouse and Square D
breakers should be locally available.

Overload Relays
There were several brands of overload relays used in the G, R and M controls. If a new heater is required for
the starter contact your team with the control size, the motor AMPS and the brand of overload that is installed.
D
Relays
The plug in relays in the controls are very standard and are available locally. Baldor does stock most of the
relays. It is common for relays to be added to controls by the end users.
To determine if the relays are available from Baldor. The following information is required.:
• What is the coil voltage of the relay?
• What is the number of pins or blades in the bottom of the relay?
• Are there pins or blades coming from the bottom of the relay?
• Is there a part number on the relay?

Current Calibrators
The G and R modules require a current calibrator. The current calibrator is nothing more than a resistor that
sets the current during starting. If the user needs to change this resistor (current calibrator). Contact your team
with the motor current and the control size.
