Using the accessories
The Turbo Brush
Switch the cleaner OFF at
the mains switch on the
handle.
The turbo brush iis a smaller version of the rotating brush in
your upright vacuum cleaner. It is designed to be used with an
extension tube fitted to the hose. A powerful impeller action
rotates the turbo brush at high speed and this gives a powerful
cleaning action. It is ideal for deep cleaning small floor mats
and for difficult carpeted areas where the normal vacuum
cleaner cannot reach.
Place the cleaner fully in the
upright position to lift the
brush clear of the floor.
Set the Brush Control knob
to Long Pile.
Lift out the hose and free it
from the retaining clip at
the side of the cleaner.
To fit the turbo brush: Switch the Vacuum cleaner OFF.
Remove the brush from the cradle. Push the brush firmly on to
the extension tube.
If you wish to use the
extension tubes and
accessories, lift the tube
assembly out and attach it to
the hose.
Accessory Brush
The tool can be used
in two ways:
As a dusting brush
for furniture and
small objects.
As an upholstery tool
for soft furniture. It is
an excellent tool for
removing unwanted
pet hair.
Using the Turbo Brush.
Place the brush on the surface to be cleaned and then switch
the cleaner on. Keep your feet well behind the brush when
vacuuming. After cleaning, switch off before lifting the brush
off, removing it from the extension tube and replacing it in the
cradle.
Do not use it on
delicate fabrics that
may snag or on
polished wooden
surfaces which may
scratch.

Reverse the procedure to re-assemble the brush.
General Do's and Don'ts
Never attach or remove accessories when the vacuum
cleaner is switched on.
Do NOT pull the vacuum cleaner around the room by the hose
as it could tip over and cause damage.
Do NOT over extend the hose. Trying to reach beyond the
hose length could cause the vacuum to tip over.
Do NOT pull or carry the cleaner by the cord, close a door on
the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners.
Use the carry handle when lifting or moving the cleaner
between different locations.
Extension Tubes
You can use the handle on its own, or in combination with one
or both tubes.
Crevice Tool
Use the crevice tool for radiators, crevices, between cushions,
joins in stair treads, etc. Store the crevice tool on the accessory
brush holder when you are using the accessory brush,
NEVER lift the cleaner with the upper handle only. It could
release and cause injury.
Be especially careful on stairs.
If you are moving the cleaner a long
way or up a flight of stairs, switch off,
fold the upper handle down, wind the
power cord and stow the hose and
accessories.
Page 5

Wipe the cleaner body with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Store the cleaner safely out of the reach if children and pets.
Clearing a Blockage
If the cleaner loses suction and the dust in the dust cup is below the MAX mark, this may be due to clogged filters or a blockage. DO NOT
operate the cleaner if the suction is impaired.
If you suspect a blockage:
$
Set the cleaner upright, switch off and unplug immediately. Empty the dust, check all the filters and clean them.
If this does not remove the blockage:
$
Check the extension tubes and accessories visually and remove any blockage with a stick or broom handle.
$
Invert the cleaner, inspect the brush area, and remove any obstruction from the bristles or the brush roller.
Inlet Tube Blockage
Upper Hose Blockage
At the base of the cleaner there is a clear area of tube. Check
this visually. If there is a blockage, undo the four screws,
remove the cover plate and clear all debris. Replace the tube
carefully in the duct, then replace the cover and fasten the
screws tightly.
If the inlet tube is clear and there is still a blockage:
1. Lift out the extension tubes
2.Lift the hose handle out at the lower port
3. Press the two tabs at either side of the hose where it enters
the upper inlet port of the cleaner.

Cleaning and Replacing the Filters
It is essential to inspect clean the filters regularly. The period between inspections will depend on how often and for how long you
use the cleaner. The filter in the dust cup should be cleaned whenever you empty the dust. The motor inlet and exhaust
filters should be checked after every three cleaning sessions.
If the cleaner shows any sign of losing suction, switch off, check and clean the filters and if necessary, clear any blockage.
NEVER operate the cleaner with clogged filters, you could damage the cleaner motor.
Before you examine or clean the filters, Set the cleaner fully upright. Switch off and unplug from the mains.

Changing the Brush Roller and Drive Belt
Sluggish speed and loss of suction may be caused by a worn or slack belt. If the cleaner does not pick up on carpets but is OK when
using the attachments this indicates a worn brush roller. These components are user replaceable.
DO NOT replace these components yourself unless you are confident that you can carry out this procedure satisfactorily.
Make sure the cleaner is switched off and unplugged from the mains before you start work. Protect the work surface if
necessary. You need a No2 Phillips screwdriver, and a small flat bladed screwdriver to carry out this procedure.
