That’s why more live sound professionals trust VENUE
systems for festivals, tours, clubs, houses
of worship, theaters, and broadcast events.
“The sonic qualities of VENUE systems are
top notch and above any other desk out
there; it’s what you need to make a show
sound great. There are a couple consoles
that I thought sounded great before this
one came out. VENUE has really changed
my mind about how live consoles should
work and sound.”
Sean Sullivan Front-of-house engineer
Beck, Sheryl Crow
“Avid Profile is not only a live console,
but a recording console as well.
There’s nothing comparable out there
because of its ability to interface
seamlessly with Pro Tools. It has
completely changed the way I work.”
Horace Ward Front-of-house engineer

Worship Services
From small club tours and regional shows to large concert arenas and
broadcast events, more FOH and monitor engineers are choosing
VENUE systems for their unsurpassed sound quality, versatility, and
rugged reliability. With VENUE, artists can experience the same signature
sound they create in the studio live thanks to the professional sound
processing plug-in support. The systems also seamlessly integrate
with industry-standard Pro Tools recording systems, making Virtual
Soundcheck and live multitrack recording an easy addition to any
setup. And by bridging Pro Tools with Avid® video systems, VENUE
becomes part of a complete multimedia solution for capturing live
performances. With scalable systems that can be customized to
handle everything from mixing the most elaborate stage acts, with up to
96 fully recallable mic/line inputs, to enabling artists to shape their own
personal monitor mixes, VENUE is raising the bar in concert sound.
For houses of worship large and small, VENUE brings sonic clarity
to services to ensure that every word is heard. The systems make
A-Net® integration easy, enabling the worship leader and performers
to use Aviom® Pro16™ Series devices to control their own personal
monitor mixes on stage, inspiring better performances. VENUE
systems offer intuitive workflows and fully recallable settings to
take the complexity out of mixing multifaceted services, enabling
you to switch between sermons, choir performances, and drama
presentations with ease. The systems also open up new outreach
opportunities by way of seamless Pro Tools integration, enabling you
to record services and make the audio available to the congregation
through downloads from the church website. And because all
VENUE systems run on easy-to-use VENUE | Software, staff and
volunteers only need to learn the system once and then leverage that
knowledge to operate any size system, helping keep things simple in
large, multi-room facilities.
“I started out the [Nine Inch Nails] tour with
my usual complement of outboard gear. I
have none left now. All the compressors, all
effects, all gating… everything is done within
the system using either the onboard stuff or
the plug-ins.”
Jim Warren Front-of-house engineer and two-time TEC
Award winner
Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Peter Gabriel
“Any given week can include sermons, services,
concerts, conferences—you name it. VENUE
snapshot automation enables us to save and recall
settings for individual songs and speakers. We have
a number of engineers using the system, and the
ability for them to store their shows on their own
flash drive is very helpful.”

Corporate Events
From community theaters to Broadway and London’s West
End, VENUE offers great flexibility and innovative workflows to
handle practically any size show production. Using the systems’
comprehensive automation capabilities, you can quickly and easily
change mix settings by recalling snapshots on a per song or per
scene basis, and then fine-tune the mix from there. VENUE | Software
can store up to 999 snapshots to handle even the most complex
stage productions. You can recall snapshots that alter anything from
a single parameter up to every console control, and employ Recall
Safe, which protects real-time changes from override by subsequent
snapshots. And with the VCA and Group Spill feature, you can
quickly access and control any particular channel within a VCA
or Group, without having to bank through multiple channel layers to
reach it.
Tradeshows, conferences, product rollouts, and other types of
corporate events are often unpredictable, but VENUE comes
through with great sound clarity to get your message heard, and is
flexible enough to keep up with the pace. With a variety of input
and output options available, it’s easy to add channels and swap
between analog and digital inputs and/or outputs for specific needs.
The digital patchbay in VENUE | Software provides great flexibility
in routing, offering quick access to all inputs, outputs, and external
gear, and making it easy to connect a mobile device for playing
background or walk-on music. And with its flexible Matrix system,
VENUE can satisfy even the most extensive signal distribution needs.
“My experience with Profile is that it sounds
great. It’s a very warm, friendly board. It’s
completely reliable, and the audio has never
dropped once on me.”
Eric Von Ronson Veteran mixer
Broadway
“For corporate events, Profile is flexible enough
to do everything I need, including enough
output bussing for live surround sound and
recording. The plug-in architecture sets
it apart, and it has a really analog feel to it
when mixing.”
Harold Blumberg Principal

VENUE | D-Show System
It’s easy to bring the power and sound quality of VENUE to your
event, tour, house of worship, club, theater, or client. Avid offers six
versatile systems that can be expanded and customized for specific
applications and a variety of interface needs. And should your needs
change, you can re-scale most systems by simply adding or switching
out components, which can also be purchased individually.
For detailed information about each VENUE system, individual
components, and options available, visit www.avid.com/venue.
For the ultimate in versatility and scalability, the D-Show® System features the
flagship D-Show console, and offers the greatest amount of I/O, processing power,
and console expandability in the Avid live sound line. It also offers plenty of options
to accommodate large ensembles, making it ideal for concert tours, festivals, mega
churches, and other mid- to large-size venues.
The D-Show System comes with a D-Show Main console and one D-Show Sidecar,
together providing a total of 24 input faders, eight output faders and eight rotary output
encoders to control Group masters and/or plug-ins, dual rows of multifunction rotary
encoders, onboard EQ and dynamics, multi-segment LED meters per channel, and an
integrated trackball. You can access and mix up to 48 inputs (or up to 96 inputs with
a second VENUE | Stage Rack) through flexible fader allocation and channel banking,
or expand the console with up to three D-Show Sidecars to gain control across 56
physical faders.
The VENUE | FOH Rack and Stage Rack serve as the system’s DSP processing and
remote I/O components, respectively, and can be customized for specific interface
needs. You can integrate Pro Tools | HD or Pro Tools recording and playback by
installing an HDx or FWx Option Card in FOH Rack (requires a separate computer for
Pro Tools). And customize the Stage Rack inputs and expand the outputs with your
choice of analog and digital input or output option cards, or an A-Net output card
for integrating Aviom Pro16 Series personal mixers. Or for the ultimate in personal
monitoring, add the VENUE | Personal Q™ (PQ) monitoring system, which enables
engineers and artists to work in tandem to achieve optimal monitor mixes.

VENUE | Mix Rack System
“The evolution of this technology has forever
changed what we do. For future engineers,
VENUE is essential.”
Greg Price Chief sound engineer, front-of-house engineer
Ozzfest, Ozzy Osbourne
The Mix Rack System takes up even less space than the Profile System, as it features
the all-in-one VENUE | Mix Rack to handle I/O and processing instead of the
tandem FOH Rack and Stage Rack, making the system ideal for smaller live sound
applications that don’t require a lot of expansion. The system is further enhanced with
the compact Profile console.
Mix Rack provides all I/O, DSP processing, and computer control into a single 11U rack,
providing almost the same functionality as FOH Rack and Stage Rack (Mix Rack offers
fewer outputs and less DSP), but in half the space. You can choose to integrate
Pro Tools | HD or Pro Tools recording and playback by installing an HDx or FWx

VENUE | SC48 / SC48 Remote System
The fully integrated SC48 combines all I/O, DSP processing, and tactile control into a
single compact console, making it one of the most affordable and portable VENUE
systems. While its small size is ideal for smaller productions and installations where
space is at a premium—such as clubs, houses of worship, regional sound reinforcement,
and corporate A/V events—SC48 doesn’t compromise the amazing sound quality, power,
and performance that are the hallmarks of all VENUE systems.
SC48 is available standalone, with all I/O housed in the console, or as part of the SC48
Remote System, which pairs the console with the AVB-enabled VENUE | Stage 48
remote box, allowing the I/O to be located up to 328 feet (100 meters) from the console.
Both systems provide 48 inputs (maximum) and 16 outputs (expandable to 32), feature a
built-in FireWire Pro Tools interface, and come with Pro Tools | Software—all you need is
a laptop to record and play back tracks.
Both systems also offer unique workflow innovations. With Channel Control, a single
button press gives you immediate access and control over any channel strip function,
including input parameters, EQ and dynamics, and Aux sends, using the console’s eight
color-coded rotary encoders. And the Flex Channel gives you access to what’s important;
for example, you can use it in latch mode to gain perpetual access to a key channel, and
never lose sight of the star of the show.

VENUE | Software
Comprehensive yet easy to use, VENUE | Software
is the common software platform across all Avid
live systems. This makes moving from system
to system easy, as you only need to learn the
software once to mix on any system. Plus, any
show file you create on any VENUE system can be
saved to a USB key, transported, and loaded onto
any other VENUE system for use, no matter the
system’s size or configuration.
Intuitive Interface VENUE | Software serves as mission control
of the system, giving you quick access to features and controls
both on the screen, using a trackball or mouse, and directly from
the console. The software features a tabbed, non-multi-layered
interface and streamlined screen pages that make it easy to access
and gain control of the system’s inputs, outputs, files, snapshots,
digital patchbay, plug-ins, and user options.
Command Over I/O and Routing Managing and routing all
inputs, outputs, sends, and returns is easy using the dedicated
Inputs, Outputs, and digital Patchbay pages. The Inputs page is
split into two sections; the upper channel view lets you quickly
scan the state of all parameters for the selected channel, while the
lower faders view lets you reposition faders, route plug-ins, and
more. The Outputs page displays similar views, with the upper
channel view showing the output bus parameters, including Graphic
EQs, and the lower faders offering controls for making output
assignments. And the Patchbay page provides access to all inputs,
outputs, and external gear, including Pro Tools recording systems,
for easy routing.
Complete Plug-in Control The Plug-ins page gives you fast
access to the system’s installed audio plug-ins, displaying rows of
available slots, which are distributed evenly across four virtual racks.
You can assign plug-ins for a given show, route them, dictate the
patch order, and make changes to plug-in parameters directly from
the console or on the screen. VENUE | Software also keeps track
of the latest plug-in versions, making it easy to see what’s currently
installed and what needs to be updated.
Powerful Snapshot Automation Snapshot automation greatly
increases mixing efficiency by enabling you to store settings
(or “scenes”) and recall them at will. VENUE | Software provides
storage and recall access to up to 999 snapshots from the
Snapshots page or directly from the console, as well as the
ability to drag and drop snapshots to match the set list order, and
build and save recall-safe grids.
Streamlined File System The Filing page gives you access to the
software’s comprehensive file management system, making it easy
to access and manage show files, console settings, and factory and
user preset libraries for channel processing and plug-ins. Easily
synchronize all show files and settings with, or move files and
settings over to, a USB storage key for backup or transfer to
another VENUE system. And use the History tab feature to quickly
recall a previous console state to undo a change.
Custom Control The Options page is the nerve center of the
system, letting you customize the system configuration and
user preferences for your needs. Choose input counts and bus
configurations; enable Pro Tools, MADI, or a Stage Rack as the
input source; and even export detailed system info (including all
patches, hardware details, and installed plug-in versions) into a
document that can be easily emailed to a systems integrator. You
also gain access to the powerful Events list, which frees you from
time-consuming tasks or repetitive functions by enabling you to
build custom macros to perform functions with a simple button
press, footswitch stomp, or fader movement.
VENUE Standalone Software While VENUE | Software requires
a VENUE system to operate, you can use VENUE Standalone
software on a Windows-based computer (including Macs running
Boot Camp or emulation software) to program shows or edit
existing show files while offline. You can then simply transfer your
work to any VENUE system using a simple USB key, or even
send files over email (if delivering detailed system specifications
to a client). This special version of VENUE | Software is a free
download, and provides an excellent way for anyone to get familiar
with VENUE operation before laying a finger on the console.
Unique Features
Fully Integrated Plug-ins Audio plug-ins have
shaped the way the world hears sound, whether
they’re used to mix a top-selling album or sweeten
a film soundtrack. With VENUE, studio sound
moves to the stage, as these are the only systems
to directly support the same high-resolution
audio plug-in format used in countless Pro
Tools-equipped recording studios—no separate
computer or external connections required.
Recording artists can experience the same sound
that inspired them in the studio on stage, and
engineers can easily achieve the same mixes
by transferring the plug-in settings used in the
recording studio to the VENUE | Software via a
USB key.
All VENUE systems come with a collection of
professional plug-ins to get you started, including
various compressors, reverbs, delays, and EQs,
and many more plug-ins are available from Avid
and some of the most respected names in pro
audio, including McDSP, Eventide, Drawmer,
Antares, Sonnox, Crane Song, URS, Waves,
TC Electronic, and Serato.
Integrated Mixing and Recording With
VENUE Link, you can control your live sound and
Pro Tools workflows as one through a standard
Ethernet connection. Set up recording sessions
in seconds, right from a VENUE show file. And
mark song beginnings, endings, and other cues
by simply recalling a snapshot.
Rock-Solid Reliability The live environment
is tough, unpredictable, and unforgiving, and
there’s nothing more important than having some
assurance that your mixing system will function
optimally day after day, week to week. That’s why
all VENUE systems are built to withstand the
rigors of the road and designed to circumvent
potential hazards that can occur at any given
show. All VENUE systems offer redundant power
supply units (except S3L-X) and robust, fully
tested software to provide peace of mind. You’ll
also find redundant snakes with FOH Rack, Stage
Rack, and Stage 48. And with the industry’s first
“backup mode” feature, these systems enable
you to continue mixing the show without any
audio loss should you ever need to reset the host
computer.
Direct Connection to Industry-Standard
Pro Tools VENUE systems offer the most
streamlined, reliable, and economical approach
to integrating Pro Tools multitrack recording
and playback into a live production environment.
S3L-X and SC48 feature a built-in Pro Tools
interface—all you need is a laptop. For other

to a VCA or Group immediately to the top of
the console. Simply double-press the Select
button on the desired VCA or Group to “spill” the
contents across the console’s input faders for fast,
convenient access, regardless of what fader bank
these channels normally appear on.
Virtual Soundcheck With Pro Tools integration,
VENUE offers an innovative workflow for sound
checking called Virtual Soundcheck, enabling you
to use prerecorded tracks from a previous show
or rehearsal in place of live inputs. This allows you
to fine-tune the mix to the current venue without
requiring the presence of the performers. You can
EQ the system to the room, set up snapshots
and effects settings in preparation for the show,
and dial-up all in-ear mixes before the performers
get there. And artists in attendance have the
opportunity to hear what the mix sounds like in the
room instead of on stage, and can work with the
engineer to achieve an optimal mix.
Complete Compatibility Because all VENUE
systems operate on the same VENUE | Software
platform, you can easily swap out individual
components with certain systems to re-scale a
system for a specific need. Got a Profile System
but need more input faders to handle large-scale
productions? Switch out the Profile for a D-Show
console and attach up to three D-Show Sidecars
for dual engineer operation. Or maybe you’re
looking to scale down a Profile System to do a
club tour; switch out the FOH Rack and Stage
Rack for a Mix Rack. Not only is it easy to change
hardware configurations, you won’t need to rebuild
any show files when you move from system to
system, as VENUE | Software ensures show file
compatibility across the product line, no matter the
hardware configuration.
Channel Spill Get quick and easy access to
a particular channel within a VCA or Group
without having to bank through multiple channel
layers to reach it. The new VCA and Group Spill
feature temporarily brings channels assigned
“The biggest advantage of VENUE is the sheer range of plug-ins
available. No other system even comes close. And the system runs
them all natively. We had racks of great analog gear in here, but really,
there would be no way to achieve the same results with conventional
gear.”
