Battery Charge State 4 bars for battery full and the battery icon flashes when charging
Reception (Radio Link) On - Within Range: Ready for use OFF - Out of range/no radio link
Feature Key Activation Indicates the phone is off hook or a call is in progress
Silent Alerter Silent alerter activated
Ringer Volume This icon is available only when the phone is in idle mode to indicate the ringer
volume level. The box goes from empty to fully black to represent from off to low to high
volume.
Receiver Volume This icon is available only when the phone goes off-hook to indicate the
receiver audio volume. The box goes from empty to fully black to represent from low to high
volume; there are 10 volume levels total.
Directory List This icon located just above the softkey allows access to the Directory List
feature.
Callers List This icon located just above the softkey allows access to the Callers List feature.
Placing a Call
•
Dial extension number or the 10 digit phone number. No (1) required for long distance or (9) for an outside line.

When finished dialing, press the [Call Key]

To end the call, press the [Release Key]
Placing the phone in the charging cradle automatically hangs up the phone.
To redial the last number dialed, press the [Redial Key], followed by the [Call Key]
to initiate dialing.
Receiving a Call

If the phone is in the charging cradle, remove the phone from the charging cradle to automatically answer the call.

If the phone is not in the charging cradle, press the [Call Key]

Note: If the phone is ringing, and is in its charging cradle, do not take it out of the charging cradle, and then press the
[Call Key]. This in turn will answer the call automatically by taking it out of the cradle, then place the caller on hold by
pressing the [Call Key]
Call on Hold

You may place the caller on hold by pressing the [Call Key]

NOTE: Depending on the person, and how you hold the phone, your cheekbone can accidently press the [Call Key] while
you are talking to someone. This will place them on hold. So it might seem like the phone puts people on hold at random.
This is not the case, because your cheekbone pressed the button. Just press the ‘Line 1’ soft key to resume the call.

You can place a 2nd active call by placing the current call on hold (by pressing the [Call Key]), then dialing the extension or
phone number of the 2nd call, then press the [Call Key] to initiate the call.
Line 2 will be displayed above the left [Soft Key], and Line 1 will be displayed above the right [Soft Key]
You can quickly switch between the 2 active calls by pressing the appropriate [Soft Key] below the appropriate Line number
displayed. This will not hang up the line for that call, but place the call on hold. When switched back to the other line, the
other call will be placed on hold.

To end a specific call, press the [Soft Key] under the appropriate line number, then press the [Release Key]
number display will disappear, leaving the other line number on the screen, and on hold. Press the [Soft Key] under the
remaining line number, to resume that call.
If on Line 1 on the cordless, and a 2nd call is received, you will hear a call waiting tone. Line 2 will appear above the left
[Soft Key]. Answer the call by pressing the [Soft Key] list below Line 2. This will automatically place the fist call on hold.
Follow same instructions above for switching between lines, and ending the call.
Call Transfer
You can transfer the current active call to any number or extension. You can choose to talk to the receiving party first before
completing the transfer (Announced Transfer) or quickly transfer the call with out talking to the receiving party (Blind Transfer)

While on an active call, Press the [Feature Key]
, several times until the word ‘Transfer’ is highlighted on the screen.
Press the right [Soft Key] below ‘Select’ on the screen. This will automatically place the caller on hold, and give new dial
tone.
Dial the desired extension or phone number.
To do a Blind transfer, press the right [Soft Key] listed below the word ‘Transfer’ after dialing the number. This will initiate
and transfer call at once.
To do an announced transfer, you must wait 3 seconds after dialing the desired number for the call to be initiated and start
ringing. After talking to the party, press the right [Soft Key] listed below the word ‘Transfer’ to complete the transfer. If the

To Cancel the transfer request, Press the [Feature/Up Key]

The above step is essentially switches back to line 1 (original caller), then switches back to line 2, then hangs up on line 2. It
is important it is done exactly in this order, otherwise by pressing the [Release Key] while talking to line 2 with out switching
back to line 1 first will complete the transfer and not cancel the request.
This is not the procedure to transferring calling between the base unit and the cordless, those steps are described later in this
document.
Call Park/Pickup
Call parking is a way of putting someone on indefinite hold with out tying up an active call on a phone, and can be picked up from any
where with in the phone network.

While on an active call, Press the [Feature Key]
, several times until the word ‘Park’ is highlighted on the screen. Press
the right [Soft Key] below ‘Select’ on the screen.
The automated attendant will tell you what extension the call is parked on. i.e. “Extension 1”
Hang up the Phone, or press the right [Soft Key] below ‘Transfer’ to complete the Park.
That call can now be picked up from anywhere within the phone network.
The cordless hardest cannot be programmed with a ’CallPickup’ button like the base unit can.
To pickup a call, Dial the Asterisk Key ‘*’, followed by 71, followed by the extension number the call is parked on. i.e. Dial
*711 to pickup a call on extension 1. Press the [Call Key]

Press the right [Soft Key] below ‘Select’ on the screen. This will put the original party on hold.
Dial the 3rd parties number or extension.
When the 3rd party answers, you can now talk to them, with the 1st party still on hold, and cannot hear you.
Press the right [Soft Key] below ‘Conference’ on the screen to have all the parties on a single call.

cannot be shared unless the call is marked ‘Public’ first.

need to press hold unless only 1 party should be talking.
If the call is public, and both the base unit and the cordless are on the same call, both the base unit and the cordless must be
hung up to completely end the call.
Intercom Between Base Unit and Cordless

To call the base unit from the cordless phone, press the [Menu Key]
until you see 1-Intercom.
Press the right [Soft Key] under ‘Select’
Press the right [Soft Key] under ‘Call’ to call the base unit.
If you have more than 1 cordless phone attached to a base unit, you can scroll up and down and select the cordless phone you
wish to call, the press the ‘Call’ [Soft Key]
To call a cordless unit from the base unit, press the custom programmed [ Icom ] button on the 57iCT.
Select the appropriate cordless unit, and press the [Call] button
Call Lists
The phone stores the last 9 incoming and placed phone calls phones numbers.
Placed Call List
• To access the placed call list, press the [Redial] button.

Use the [Feature/Up Key]
and [Menu/Down Key]
to scroll through the list.

Ring Tones
The cordless handset comes with 4 different ring tones. To change the ring tone for all calls, press the [Menu Key]
3-Ring tone, then press the right [Soft Key] under ‘Change’ Scroll up and down to select desired ring tone.
