MediaCento IPX Extenders
MediaCento IPX Multicast (VX-HDMI-IP-MTX and VX-HDMI-IP-MRX)
• Transmits HDMI® video and audio over an Ethernet
network to up to 250 screens. Can go as far as your
network reaches.
• Uses existing standards-based Ethernet technology
and TCP/IP protocols.
• Provides very high image quality with visually lossless
compression.
• A single transmitter can deliver multimedia to hundreds
of remote displays.
• EDID copy function for optimal PC-to-screen performance.
• Supports serial connections to switch screens on/off.
This attractively priced IP streaming solution multicasts HDMI video
and audio to up to 250 screens on a network. You need just one
VX-HDMI-IP-MTX transmitter and up to 250 VX-HDMI-IP-MRX receivers.
MediaCento IPX Multicast is ideal for distributing digital signage content or
other HD video and audio across an Ethernet network. Because the transmitter
and receivers install directly into your existing LAN infrastructure, integration
is easy. There’s no need to run expensive dedicated links from a back room to
digital signage in lobbies.
The extender transmits up to 328 feet (100 m) per link but goes even
longer when additional network switches are added to the mix. You can
even use fiber with media converters to go several miles if needed. Its
signal is completely digital from end to end, so your digital content is never
compromised.
Lossless compression for HD extension.
Featuring visually lossless compression, the MediaCento IPX Multicast units
transmit broadcast-quality video and audio, and support Full 1080p resolution
no matter what the distance or the number of screens, as well as all common
PC resolutions (XGA, SXGA, UXGA, WSXGA) up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz.
MediaCento IPX Multicast features IGMP support and packetizes signals so
all your HD source content can be delivered anywhere you want over Ethernet
wiring. It works in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint configurations. Just
plug in as many receivers as you need at your remote screens.
Extremely easy to set up and use.
MediaCento IPX Multicast also supports RS-232 for configuration
and control, and for extending bidirectional control signals. Use this serial
link to switch screens on or off.
There’s no need to configure any IP settings (although more experienced
users can do that if needed). Simply use rotary switches to set the transmitter
and receivers to the same multicast channel and all IP multicasting settings
are automatically configured; then just connect your source, your display(s),
and a network switch. It’s ready to go!
For product specifications and ordering information, see the last page.
NOTE: For the best performance, use with a Layer 2 or 3 switch with IGMP
support. For details, contact Black Box Tech Support. For a selection of
switches, visit blackbox.com/go/Networking.

project your message and content on a larger scale.
The extender supports customizable monitor array sizes for any video wall
setup or application. A wall can be configured for multiple rows and columns.
You need just one transmitter and up to 64 receivers for an 8 x 8 wall. Each

Why a MediaCento IPX Extender?
Six reasons to choose this solution:
1.
4. Easy to scale for additional screen connectivity.
Simple to install and configure.
A single transmitter can deliver multimedia to hundreds of
displays. No transmitter upgrade will be required later. Simply
purchase additional receivers for additional screen connections.
No advance knowledge of video and IP technology is required.
For this reason, it’s ideal for AV installers and end users looking
for an easy way to distribute 1080p content.
2.
5.
Fits easily into any network architecture.
The technology is based on standardized Ethernet protocols.
Just use a network switch with IGMP to control the multicast
traffic over a LAN.
3.
Provides real-time video transmission.
Because it transmits high-quality video with ultra-low latency,
it’s ideal for command and control applications as well as any
live presentations.
6. No extra video scaler is needed.
Can save you on cabling costs.
It uses the same Ethernet network cabling you likely already
have installed, so no new AV or CATx cabling is needed.
