Utilícese sólo en sistemas eléctricos DC a 12 voltios con conexión a tierra negativa.
Durante el montaje y conexión de la unidad, desconecte el terminal negativo de la
batería del vehículo.
Cuando cambie de fusible, compruebe que el nuevo tiene el mismo amperaje.
Si utiliza un fusible de mayor amperaje puede provocar graves daños a la unidad.
El reproductor es un producto láser de primera clase. No intente desmantelar la unidad.
El rayo láser del bloque óptico es perjudicial para la vista.
Compruebe que no se introduce dentro de la unidad ningún alfiler, clavo, ni ningún otro
objeto extraño. Pueden provocar averías o crear graves peligros, como una descarga
eléctrica o exposición al rayo láser.
Si su vehículo está aparcado bajo la luz directa del sol, antes de poner en marcha la
unidad deje que se refresque.
Mantenga un nivel de volumen que le permita escuchar los sonidos de advertencia del
exterior (como un claxon, una sirena, etc.)

Preparación del control remoto.

mando a distancia.
Antes de cerrar la tapa, compruebe que el
lado + de la batería está hacia arriba.

Reproduzca DVD, CD, Mp3 y Kodak Picture CD siguiendo el procedimiento
descrito a continuación.
Pulse la tecla para encender el REPRODUCTOR (PLAYER).
Cuando el indicador "R
REPRODUCTOR" (PLAYER) está encendido.
Para abrir la bandeja y sacar el disco, pulse .
Si desea hacer una pausa en la reproducción, pulse una vez el botón
Play/Pausa /. Para reanudarla, vuelva a pulsarlo.
Pulse el botón ‘Anterior’ para volver al corte (o secuencia) anterior.
Pulse el botón ‘Siguiente’ para pasar al siguiente corte (o secuencia).
Para detener la reproducción, pulse el botón 'Stop' .
„ REPRODUCCIÓN AVANZADA
y MENÚ
Pulse este botón para ver el menú raíz. Seleccione los cortes o secuencias que
prefiera (esta tecla es válida para discos de DVD que tengan menú multicapa. Haga
su selección según sus preferencias).
y PROG
En PBC OFF y estando en 'Stop', pulse "PROG" para introducir el modo de programa.
Seleccione los cortes pulsando los correspondientes dígitos. Cuando haya
terminado, pulse "START" para que comience la reproducción del programa. Si
quiere cancelar esta función, primero pulse "STOP"
.
y SEARCH
Pulse "SEARCH" e introduzca el tiempo o pista a partir de la cual desea
reproducir una determinada sección. Luego pulse "INTRO" para que comience la
reproducción a partir de la hora marcada. Los valores que introduzca no podrán
exceder de la duración máxima de un disco o secuencia.

y OSD
Pulsando OSD cuatro veces irá viendo el ciclo siguiente: título transcurrido, título
restante, secuencia transcurrida, secuencia restante. Si vuelve a pulsarlo por quinta
vez cancelará la vista de PANTALLA.
y ZOOM
Pulsando el zoom aumentará el tamaño de la imagen. El tamaño del zoom cambiará
cada vez que lo pulse.
y SUBTÍTULOS
Si pulsa "SUBTÍTULOS" cinco veces, la pantalla irá mostrando este ciclo: SUBTÍTULO
01/04 SUBTÍTULO 02/04 SUBTÍTULO 03/04 SUBTÍTULO 04/04 SUBTÍTULO
CANCELAR. Con esta función podrá seleccionar hasta 32 idiomas en pantalla (válido
sólo en discos que tengan esta función; algunos discos sólo tienen dos idiomas para
subtítulos, algunos 3 y otros más).
y AUDIO
Si pulsa "AUDIO" en el mando a distancia o "L/R" en el panel frontal durante la
reproducción de un DVD, irá viendo en pantalla audio1, audio2 (si reproduce un
VCD, aparecerá: VCD, IZQUIERDA, DERECHA, ESTÉREO).
y TITLE\ \ PBC
En algunos DVD, al pulsar esta tecla aparecerá el menú SUBTÍTULOS. Utilice los
dígitos para seleccionar sus cortes preferidos.
y CURSOR
Sirve para escoger entre las distintas opciones, reproduciendo diferentes discos. Los
cursores con 4 direcciones permiten al usuario escoger entre distintas opciones,
independientemente de la interfaz operativa, el menú y el funcionamiento del disco.
De igual manera, también se puede desplazar la imagen cuando está ampliada
hasta 4 veces.
y SELECC
Pulse este botón para seleccionar la función de efecto de audio deseada.
y REPETIR
Si pulsa "REPETIR", aparecerá en pantalla Repetir secuencia. Si vuelve a pulsarlo
aparecerá Repetir título. Si lo hace por tercera vez, cancelará la función de
repetición. Para reproducir CD, al pulsar la por primera vez aparecerá en pantalla el
corte. La segunda, aparecerá en pantalla Repetir todo y la tercera, cancelará la
función de repetición.

„ FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL REPRODUCTOR DE DISCOS
REPRODUCCIÓN DE MP3
Al reproducir un disco MP3, aparecerá
automáticamente en pantalla un menú de
navegación, si el disco está cargado en sucesión.
Una vez dentro del menú, utilice los botones de
cursor ARRIBA o ABAJO para escoger carpeta.
Luego pulse el botón "INTRO/ PLAY" para
confirmar. Una vez en la carpeta escogida,
seleccione el archivo con los botones ARRIBA o
ABAJO; luego pulse "INTRO/ PLAY" para reproducir
el archivo.
En esta página, con el botón del cursor IZQUIERDA
volverá al menú anterior. Con ANTERIOR o
SIGUIENTE, pasará a la página anterior o a la
siguiente.
REPRODUCCIÓN DE UN KODAK PICTURE CD
Reproducción normal
Una vez introducido en la unidad un disco KODAK Picture CD, se abrirá un proyector de
diapositivas automático. Irá apareciendo cada imagen del KODAK Picture CD de forma
consecutiva, como en un proyector de diapositivas convencional. Las imágenes
ajustarán su tamaño al de la pantalla de TV. El equipo dispone de varios modos de
transición de una dispositiva a otra. Seleccione la que desee con la tecla "PROG". El
usuario puede programar efectos de transición de una dispositiva a ora.
Si desea que reproduzca indefinidamente una misma imagen, pulse la tecla "PAUSA."
Para ver la imagen anterior o la siguiente, pulse, respectivamente "SIGUIENTE" (NEXT) o
"ANTERIOR" (PREV). Para reanudar la proyección de dispositivas, pulse "INTRO/PLAY".
Rotación de imágenes
Hay cuatro modos de rotar una imagen: "Invertir", "Espejo", "Izquierda" y "Derecha".
Estas operaciones sólo se pueden realizar si se está reproduciendo normalmente la
imagen y se cancelarán automáticamente cuando pase a reproducir una nueva imagen.
Las teclas de flechas sirven para seleccionar la dirección de rotación:

Arriba ն - Invertir/Normal
Abajo V - Espejo/Normal
Izquierda
Derecha
> - Girar hacia la izquierda
< - Girar hacia la derecha.
Zoom
La tecla "ZOOM" sirve para activar o desactivar esta función. Si está activada, cualquier
imagen se verá con el último ratio que haya seleccionado el usuario. Un mensaje indicará en
pantalla el ratio de zoom vigente en ese momento.
Si el modo de zoom está activado, las teclas "<" y ">" sirven para controlar el ratio de zoom
hacia delante/atrás. Estando el zoom desactivado, la imagen ajustará su tamaño a la pantalla de TV.
Notas: Mientras esté activa la función de zoom las opciones de transición entre
diaposisitivas y de rotación de la imagen estarán desactivadas. Para cancelar la función
de zoom, vuelva a pulsar la tecla "ZOOM" y recuperará el modo de diapositivas.
Compendiar
La tecla "STOP" sirve para ver las imágenes en miniatura. Una vez activada esta función, podrá ver
en pantalla algunas imágenes reducidas a tamaño miniatura. Entonces, con las teclas
"SIGUIENTE" Y "ANTERIOR" podrá ver las imágenes anterior y siguiente de su Kodak Picture CD.
Para seleccionar alguna de las imágenes en miniatura, utilice las teclas de flechas y pulse la tecla
"INTRO/PLAY". La imagen en miniatura se ampliará hasta alcanzar toda la pantalla y comenzará la
reproducción de diapositivas. Si desea ver indefinidamente una imagen, pulse "PAUSA". Para ver
la imagen anterior o la siguiente, pulse, respectivamente "SIGUIENTE" (NEXT) o "ANTERIOR"
(PREV). Para reanudar la proyección de dispositivas, pulse "INTRO/PLAY".
NOTA IMPORTANTE: La calidad de las imágenes que vea en pantalla dependerá en gran
medida del dispositivo para su visualización que utilice.
REPRODUCCIÓN DE DISCOS JPEG
Cuando reproduzca un disco en formato JPEG, aparecerá automáticamente en pantalla un menú
de navegación, si el disco está cargado en sucesión. En el menú, seleccione un archivo con cursor
ARRIBA o ABAJO. Luego pulse "INTRO/PLAY". El archivo se ejecutará en formato proyector de
dispositivas. Para seleccionar la siguiente o la anterior imagen, pulse ANTERIOR o SIGUIENTE.
Para hacer una pausa en la imagen actual, pulse PAUSA. Para volver al modo de
reproducción normal, pulse INTRO/PLAY.
NOTAS SOBRE LOS DISCOS:

Si el disco a reproducir es defectuoso o tiene polvo, pueden producirse ausencias de sonido.
Sujete el disco como se indica en la ilustración.
NO toque la cara sin etiqueta.
NO adhiera ningún sello, etiqueta ni hoja de protección de datos a ninguna cara del disco.
NO exponga el disco a la luz directa del sol ni a una fuente de calor excesivo.
Limpie los discos sucios frotando desde el centro hacia afuera con un paño o gamuza de limpiar.
No utilice jamás disolventes como la gasolina o el alcohol.
Esta unidad no reproduce disquetes de 3 pulgadas (8 cm).
NO INTRODUZCA NUNCA disquetes de 3" ni discos de forma irregular en el adaptador.

Cuando pulse en el mando a distancia CONFIGURACIÓN
(SETUP), aparecerá en pantalla el menú Configuración.
Incluye los menús: Configuración general, Configuración de
audio, Configuración de vídeo, Configuración de
preferencias, Configuración de contraseñas y Salir de
configuración.
Una vez dentro del menú Configuración, mueva el
cursor con los botones ARRIBA, ABAJO, IZQUIERDA
y DERECHA. Luego pulse INTRO/PLAY para hacer
su selección de ajustes. Para volver al menú
anterior pulse IZQUIERDA.
Si desea salir del menú de Configuración, puede hacerlo
seleccionando el menú Salir de configuración o bien
pulsar el botón CONFIGURACIÓN (SETUP).
1. PÁGINA DE CONFIGURACIÓN
GENERAL
Establece el formato de pantalla de TV, el tipo de vídeo
y todas las funciones del DVD.
1.2 MARCAR ÁNGULO
MARCAR ÁNGULO: El usuario puede escoger un
determinado ángulo de cámara si reproduce un DVD que
ofrezca ángulos múltiples.
1.3 IDIOMA
Idioma del texto que aparece en pantalla ('On Screen
Display ú OSD): El usuario puede seleccionar todo el menú
de configuración y el idioma de pantalla.
1.1 DISPLAY DE TV
1.4 CAPTURAS DE PANTALLA
Display de TV selecciona los distintos ratios de formato de
pantalla y la pantalla de TV. Hay diversos tipos de displays en
pantalla para hacer distintas combinaciones entre disco y TV
(véase pág. 25: Modo de ratio multi-imagen).
CAPTURAS DE PANTALLA: La imagen se puede reproducir con
capturas de pantalla explicativas, previamente grabadas, para
ayudar a las personas con discapacidad auditiva.

Con independencia del formato de pantalla
seleccionado si una película está grabada en el
formato estándar 4:3, siempre aparecerá en
pantalla con el mismo ratio de aspecto 4:3.
Puede variar el formato de pantalla de los títulos
del DVD. Consulte la información que acompaña a
cada disco DVD.
Si el título en DVD ha sido grabado en formato alargado
16:9, como el estándar de TV es 4:3, se producirá una
compresión horizontal de la imagen.
Algunos títulos en DVD pueden estar grabados en
formatos especiales. En estos casos, los títulos en
DVD aparecerán en pantalla siempre en su
formato original, independientemente del formato
de TV que tenga usted seleccionado.

1.5 SALVAPANTALLAS
SALVAPANTALLAS: Si está activado el salva pantallas, cada vez
que el reproductor de DVD esté inactivo durante un cierto
tiempo aparecerá en pantalla una imagen animada.
1.6 MEMORIA ÚLTIMA
REPRODUCCIÓN
2.1 PÁGINA DE CONFIGURACIÓN
DE LOS ALTAVOCES
2.1.1 CONFIGURACION DOWNMIX (Sonido mezclado)
MODO DOWNMIX (Sonido mezclado): selecciona la
configuración de los altavoces delanteros: LT/RT
STEREO, V SURR o 5.1CH.
y Las 3 primeras configuraciones (LT/RT, STEREO, V SURR)
mezclan la señal sonora para 2 altavoces. Esta
configuración le permitirá disfrutar de un efecto surround
con sólo dos altavoces. Por esta razón, si ha escogido la
configuración MODO DOWNMIX, estará desactivada la
configuración para más altavoces (que se describe más
adelante). En esta configuración, DIÁLOGO está activo.
y Si ha seleccionado la conexión Dolby digital y desea disfrutar de
un auténtico sonido Dolby Digital Surround, tendrá que ajustar el
equipo en modo DOWNMIX 5.1CH. En esta configuración están
activos los altavoces CENTRAL y TRASEROS.
MEMORIA ÚLTIMA REPRODUCCIÓN: Esta función es muy práctica si
usted desea seguir viendo un disco desde el punto en que lo dejó. A
diferencia de la función Reanudar, la función Memoria última repr.
es útil si se ha sacado el DVD del reproductor.
La función Memoria última repr. puede no ser fiable con
algunos VCD que incorporan PBC.
2.1.2 ALTAVOCES DELANTEROS
ALTAVOCES DELANTEROS: Sube o baja el volumen de
los altavoces delanteros.

Con la función Memoria última repr. activada (ON). Cada
vez que abra la bandeja para retirar el disco o que pulse
Standby mientras lo esté reproduciendo, la memoria del
reproductor irá al punto en el que usted detuvo la
reproducción y la retomará desde ahí.
Esta función es efectiva mientras no se apague el
equipo, incluso si la unidad está en Standby, se
puede accionar con el mando a distancia.

2.1.3 POST DRC
POST DRC (Dynamic Range Compression); Con esta
configuración puede seleccionar qué altavoces quiere
que permanezcan en silencio y cuáles quiere que
emitan sonido, e incrementar el diálogo.

2.2.1 SALIDA (COAXIAL) SPDIF
MODO SALIDA SPDIF: Configura las salidas de audio.
2.3.2
DYNAMIC
DYNAMIC: Esta función se suele utilizar cuando se
reproducen programas por la noche a gran volumen, para no
molestar a los vecinos. Esta configuración reduce dinámicamente
el volumen, manteniendo la calidad del tono original. Este es el
rango en decibelios (dB) entre los registros más fuertes y más
suaves de una pista de audio.
Este reproductor de DVD incluye tres tipos de salida de audio:
1. SPDlF OFF: Un formato de sonido surround
analógico sale a través de las conexiones del
panel trasero para altavoces L, R, LS, RS y
Central, así como la simulación de subwoofer.
2. SPDlF/RAW o SPDIF/PCM: Este formato de sonido
surround se envía a un decodificador Dolby
Digital/DTS a través de los conectores coaxiales
situados en el panel trasero del producto.
Nota:
El reproductor de DVD da simultáneamente salida de señal
Dolby Digital y analógica, pero si quiere disfrutar del efecto
Karaoke tendrá que seleccionar la salida analógica.

2.4.1 TIPO DE EC.
TIPO DE EC: Determina la salida de audio, para simular
los distintos tipos de efectos musicales.
2.3.1 DUAL MONO
DUAL MONO: Si su amplificador o decodificador tiene
salida Dolby Digital, podrá seleccionar estéreo, mono
izquierda, mono derecha o modo mono mezclado.

2.4.2 BASS BOOST
BASS BOSS: Mejora los bajos.
2.5.1 FILTRO
FILTRO: Establece el ratio de filtro.
2.4.3 SUPER BASS
SUPER BASS: Mejora los súper-bajos.
Escoja las frecuencias de muestreado del filtro digital.
Cuando más altas sean las frecuencias, más claro será
el sonido. Si está desactivada (OFF) la configuración
por defecto, en pantalla se leerá "CD" leyendo HDCD.
Para reproducir HDCD, escoja 1X o 2X.

NITIDEZ: Determina la nitidez de la señal de salida de
vídeo.

vídeo.

BRILLO: Determina el brillo de la señal de salida de
vídeo.
3.3.5 HUE (tono de color)
HUE (tono de color): Determina el valor de tono de
color (hue) de la señal de vídeo.
Pulse el botón derecho. Verá un valor en pantalla.
Para ajustarlo, pulse IZQUIERDA/DERECHA y luego el
botón INTRO/PLAY, para confirmar y volver al menú.

CONTRASTE: Determina el contraste de la señal de

SATURACIÓN: Determina el valor de saturación de
color de la señal de vídeo.
Pulse el botón derecho. Verá un valor en pantalla.
Para ajustarlo, pulse IZQUIERDA/DERECHA y luego el
botón INTRO/PLAY, para confirmar y volver al menú.

3.3.7 RETARDO LUMA
RETARDO LUMA (Luminancia): Establece el retardo de
la luminancia de la señal de salida de vídeo,
dependiendo del brillo y el tono de TV. Normalmente
para DVD se ajusta a 1T.

4.2 PBC
MODO PBC: Ajusta el control de reproducción o PBC
(Playback Control) en activo (ON) o inactivo (OFF).

PREFERENCIAS
La configuración de preferencias sólo está activa si no
hay ningún disco y la unidad está apagada. La
configuración escogida comenzará a estar vigente la
próxima vez que se encienda la unidad, y hasta que se
vuelva a modificar.
4.3 AUDIO
AUDIO: Fija el idioma escogido para el audio como
configuración por defecto cuando reproduzca DVD.
(Siempre que el DVD soporte estos idiomas)
4.1 TIPO DE TV
TIPO DE TV: Este reproductor soporta distintas normas
de señal de TV: MULTI(Auto), NTSC y PAL.
x
Si su TV sólo soporta NTSC o PAL y, sin darse
cuenta, ha seleccionado una norma equivocada, la
pantalla parpadeará en blanco y negro. En tal caso,
pulse el botón CONFIGURACIÓN (SETUP) y haga los
ajustes siguientes.
4.4 SUBTÍTULOS
SUBTÍTULOS: Fija el idioma preferido para los
subtítulos como idioma por defecto para reproducción
de DVD (siempre que el DVD soporte estos idiomas).
Nota: ¿Cómo se ajusta el tipo de TV?
x Escoja la configuración NTSC/PAL del reproductor
de DVD para que coincida con la norma de la señal
de vídeo de su TV.
x En esta tabla podrá ver qué tipos de discos son
compatibles con cada configuración (MULTI, PAL y
NTSC).

4.5 MENÚ DE DISCO
5. PÁGINA DE CONFIGURACIÓN DE
CONTRASEÑAS
MENÚ DE DISCO: Fija el idioma preferido para el menú
como idioma por defecto para reproducción de DVD
(siempre que el DVD soporte estos idiomas).
5.1 MODO DE CONTRASEÑA
MODO DE CONTRASEÑA: Active la función (ON) para
bloquear la función parental y desactívela (OFF) para
modificar el nivel de censura.
x Cuando se intercambien ON y OFF, le pedirá que
confirme la antigua contraseña.
x La contraseña inicial es 1389
4.6 CONTROL PARENTAL
CONTROL PARENTAL: La función de Control parental
trabaja de manera conjunta con las distintas clases de
censura de que disponen los DVD. Estas censuras sirven
para controlar el tipo de DVD que quiere ver la familia. Hay
hasta 8 clases de censura para los DVD.
Nota:
x La opción de CONTROL PARENTAL se puede cambiar si
el MODO DE CONTRASEÑA (5.1) está desactivado (OFF).
x Después de ajustar el nivel de control parental. Para
bloquear la contraseña, active esta función (ON).
5.2 CAMBIO DE CONTRASEÑA
CAMBIO DE CONTRASEÑA: Para cambiar la contraseña
introduzca 6 números que constituirán la nueva
contraseña.
4.7 VALORES POR DEFECTO
VALORES POR DEFECTO: Recupera la configuración por
defecto de fábrica del reproductor de DVD. Para resetear,
pulse INTRO.

„ Si tiene dificultades
Si el aparato se queda 'congelado' y no responde, si la pantalla se va a negro o si la unidad no funciona
correctamente de cualquier otra forma, intente a apagarla y volverla a encender. Otra posibilidad es seguir uno

Use only in a 12-volt DC negative-ground electrical system.
Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal while mounting and connecting the
unit.
When replacing the fuse, be sure to use one with an identical amperage rating.
Using a fuse with a higher amperage rating may cause serious damage to the unit.
This player is a class 1 laser product, do not attempt to dismantle the unit.
Laser beams from the optical pickup are harmful to eyes.
Make sure that pins or other foreign objects do not get inside the unit; they may cause
malfunctions, or create safely hazards such as electrical shock or laser beam exposure.
If your vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight, allow the unit to cool off before
operating it.
Keep the volume at a level at which you can hear outside warning sounds (horns, sirens,

You can play DVDs, CDs, Mp3s, Kodak Picture CDs using the procedure
described below.
Press key to turn on the PLAYER .
"P
PLAYER" indicator turned on;
Press eject button to eject the disc outside;
Press / the play/pause button once to pause playback and again to play
back;
Press the previous button to go to the previous track (chapter).
Press the next button to go to the next track (chapter).
Press the stop button to stop playback.
„ ADVANCED PLAYBACK
y MENU
Press this button to display the root menu, select tracks according to your
preference (this key is valid to DVD disc possessing multi-layer menu. You can
select according to your preference).
y PROG
Under PBC OFF and stop, press "PROG" to enter program mode. Press digits to
select tracks. And when finish, press "START" to start program playback. If you
want to cancel this function, press "STOP" to cancel.
y SEARCH
Press "SEARCH" and input your desired time or track of a certain section, the input
cannot exceed the actual maximum time of a disc or track.

y OSD
Pressing OSD four times will cycle between the title elapsed, title remaining, chapter
elapsed, chapter remaining. Pressing a fifth time will cancel the DISPLAY.
y ZOOM
The picture can be enlarged by pressing zoom. The picture size will change every
time this is pressed.
y SUBTITLE
If you press "SUBTITLE" five times, the screen will display SUBTITLE 01/04 SUBTITLE
02/04 SUBTITLE 03/04 SUBTITLE 04/04 SUBTITLE CANCEL. This function can
select up to 32 languages displayed on screen (valid in discs that possess this
function; some discs possess 2 subtitle languages, some 3, some more).
y AUDIO
Press "AUDIO" on the remote control or "L/R" on the front panel during DVD playback
to display audio1, audio2 on the screen (when playing a VCD, LEFT, RIGHT, STEREO
will be displayed).
y TITLE\ \ PBC
On some DVDs, pressing this key will display the title menu. You can use digits to
select preferred tracks.
y CURSOR
Use to choose options when playing different discs. 4 direction cursors allow users
to choose options regarding operating interface, menu and disc operation. Likewise,
the image can be moved when it is zoomed to 4 times size.
y SELECT
Press this button to select the audio effect functions.
y REPEAT
Press "REPEAT" and Chapter Repeat will be displayed on screen. A second press will
display title repeat, the third press will cancel the repeat process. For CD playing, the
first press will display the track, the second press will display repeat all, the third
press will cancel repeat.

„ DISC PLAYER OPERATION
MP3 PLAYBACK
When playing an MP3 disc, a navigation menu will
be displayed automatically if the disc is loaded in
succession.
In the menu, use the cursor UP or DOWN buttons
to choose folder, then press the "ENTER/PLAY"
button to confirm. In the folder, use the cursor UP
or DOWN buttons to select the file, then press
"ENTER/PLAY" to play this file.
On this page, use the cursor LEFT button to return
to previous menu, or press PREV or NEXT to go to
the previous or next page.
Kodak Picture CD Playback
Playback (Normal)
When a Kodak Picture CD is inserted in the unit, an automatic slideshow is launched.
Each picture in the Kodak Picture CD will be displayed consecutively in a slideshow
fashion and will be scaled to fit the TV screen. Some slideshow transition modes are
provided. Use "PROG" key to select. Customer can set transition effects for each picture.
To display an image indefinitely, press the "PAUSE" key. To view the next or previous
picture, press "NEXT" or "PREV" key. To resume the slideshow, press the "ENTER/ PLAY"
key.
Image Rotation
There are four modes to rotate a picture: "Invert", "Mirror", Left" and "Right". These
operations are only allowed when a picture is being displayed normally and will be
cancelled automatically when a new picture is displayed. The arrow key is used to select
the different rotation modes:

Zoom
The "ZOOM" key is used to turn this function on or off. When this mode is on, any picture will
be displayed at the last ratio selected by the user. A message on the screen will indicate the
current zoom ratio.
If zoom mode is on, "<" and ">" key are used to control the ratio of zoom in/out.
With ZOOM mode off, a picture is scaled to fit the TV screen.
Notes: During zoom function, slideshow transition and image rotation are disabled. To
cancel the zoom function, press the "ZOOM" key again to resume the slideshow.
Digest
The "STOP" key is used to display thumbnail size pictures. After it is enabled, some
scaled-down thumbnail pictures will be displayed on the screen. The "NEXT" and "PREV"
keys can be used to display the next/prev pictures in the Kodak Picture CD.
You can select any of the displayed thumbnails by using the Arrow Keys and pressing the
"ENTER/ PLAY" key. The thumbnail will be enlarged to fit the TV screen and the
slideshow will start. If you want to display an image indefinitely, press the "PAUSE" key.
To view the next or previous picture, press the "NEXT" or "PREV" key. To resume the
slideshow press the "ENTER/PLAY" key.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The quality of pictures displayed on the screen is highly dependent
on the viewing device.
JPEG DISC PLAYBACK
When playing JPEG disc, a navigation menu will be displayed automatically if the disc
is loaded in succession. In the menu, use UP or DOWN in the cursor to select a file, then
press "ENTER/PLAY", the file will be play with a slide-show. Press PREV or NEXT to select
the previous or next picture.
Press PAUSE to pause the current picture for enjoying, when press ENTER/PLAY,
it will return to normal playing.

Playing a defective or dusty disc can cause dropouts in sound.
Hold disc as illustrated.
Do NOT touch the unlabeled side.
Do NOT attach any seal, label or data protection sheet to either side of disc.
Do NOT expose a disc to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Wipe a dirty disc from the centre outwards using a cleaning cloth.
Never use solvents such as benzene or alcohol.
This unit cannot play 3-inch (8 cm) discs.
NEVER insert a 3-inch disc contained in the adapter or any irregularly shaped disc.

SYSTEM SETUP

When you press SETUP button on the remote
control, the setup menu will be displayed. It
includes General Setting, Audio Setup, Video
Setup, Preference Setup, Password Setup and Exit
Setup menu.
Within the setup menu, you can use UP, DOWN,
LEFT and RIGHT buttons on the remote control to
move the cursor, and then press the ENTER/PLAY
button to make your selection. Press LEFT to
return to the previous menu.
To exit setup menu, you can select the exit setup
menu or press SETUP button.
1.2 ANGLE MARK
ANGLE MARK: Users can select a particular camera angle
when playing a DVD that offers multiple angles.
1. GENERAL SETUP PAGE
Setup TV screen format, video type and all DVD
functions.
1.3 OSD LANGUAGE
On Screen Display (OSD) Language: Users can select the
whole setup menu and on-screen display language.
1.1 TV DISPLAY
The TV Display which selects the different ratio of
display format and the TV screen. There are various
types of on-screen displays for different matches
between Disc and TV (Please see page 25: Multi-image
ratio mode)
1.4 CAPTIONS
CAPTIONS: For hearing-impaired persons, the picture can
be displayed with recorded explanatory captions.

Regardless of which display format is selected, a
picture recorded in standard 4:3 format is always
displayed in the 4:3 aspect ratio.
The display format of DVD titles may vary; please
refer to the information that accompanies your
specific DVD title.
If the DVD title is recorded in 16:9 wide display
format while the TV is a standard 4:3 screen,
horizontal compression of the image will result.
Some DVD titles may be recorded in special
formats. In these cases, the DVD titles will always
appear on the screen in their original format,
regardless of which TV display format you select.

1.5 SCREEN SAVER
SCREEN SAVER: If the screen saver is on, an animated
picture will appear on the screen whenever the DVD
player is idle for a certain time.
1.6 LAST MEMORY
2.1 SPEAKER SETUP PAGE
2.1.1 DOWNMlX SETUP
DOWNMIX MODE: sets front speakers to LT/RT
STEREO, V SURR or 5.1CH.
y The first 3 settings (LT/RT, STEREO, V SURR)
downmix the sound signal for 2-Speakers. This
setting allows you to enjoy a surround sound
effect with only two speakers. For this reason a
setup for additional speakers (described in the
following sections) is disabled when DOWNMlX
MODE is set to these settings. In this setting, the
DIALOGUE is active.
y You have to set the DOWNMlX MODE to 5.1CH if
you have selected the Dolby Digital connection
and you would like to enjoy true Dolby Digital
surround sound. In this setting, the CENTRE, REAR
speakers are active.
LAST MEMORY: This function is convenient when you
want to continue viewing a disc from the point where
you were watching before. Unlike the resume function,
the Last Memory function is effective even the DVD is
removed from the player.
Last Memory may not work reliably with some VCDs
that feature PBC.
2.1.2 FRONT SPEAKER
FRONT SPEAKER: Sets front speakers volume High,
Low.

When Last Memory is ON. Each time you open the
tray to remove the disc or press standby while
playing, the player memory goes to the point
where you stopped and continuously plays again
from this point.
The function is effective while the power is on and
even when the unit is on standby, which is
operated by remote control.
2. AUDIO SETUP PAGE
2.1.3 POST DRC
POST DRC (Dynamic Range Compression); the setup
can select the quiet and loud peaks and increase
dialogue.

2.2 SPDIF SETUP PAGE
2.2.1 SPDlF (COAXIAL) OUTPUT
SPDlF OUTPUT MODE: Sets the audio outputs.

DYNAMIC
DYNAMIC: this function is generally used when playing
high volume programmes at night, in order not to
disturb the neighbours. This setting can dynamically
lower the volume and still keep the original tone
quality. This is the range, measured in decibels(dB),
between the loudest and the quietest sound registers
on a soundtrack.
This DVD player includes three kinds of audio output:
1. SPDlF OFF: An analogue surround sound format is
outputted through the back-panel connections for
L, R, LS, RS, and Centre speakers, and the
Subwoofer simulation.
2. SPDlF/RAW or SPDIF/PCM: This surround sound
format is sent to a Dolby Digital / DTS decoder
through the optical and coaxial connectors on the
back-panel of the product.
Note:
The DVD player outputs a Dolby Digital signal and an
analogue signal simultaneously, but you have to select
the analogue output if you want to take advantage of
the Karaoke effects.

EQ TYPE: Sets the audio output to simulate the various

BASS BOSS: Enhances the bass degree

FILTER: Sets the filter ratio.

SUPER BASS: Enhances the super bass degree.
Please choose the sampling frequencies of digital
filter, the higher the sampling frequencies, the clearer
the audio quality. When default setting is off, it will
display "CD" by reading HDCD. For HDCD playback,
please choose 1X or 2X.

4.2 PBC
PBC MODE: Sets the PBC (Playback Control) to on or

4. PREFERENCE SETUP PAGE
The preference setting is active only when there is no
disc or the unit is off, and the setting is effective the
next time the power is on until the saved setting is
changed.

AUDIO: Sets the preferred audio language as the
default when playing DVDs. (If DVDs support these
languages)
4.1 TV TYPE
TV TYPE: This player supports different TV outputs,
including MULTI (Auto), NTSC, and PAL systems.

4.4 SUBTITLE
SUBTITLE: Sets the preferred subtitle language as the
default when playing DVDs. (If DVDs support these
languages)

x You may switch the NTSC/PAL setting of the DVD
player to match the video signal of your TV.
x The table below shows what kinds of disc are
compatible with each setting (MULTI, PAL and
NTSC).

5.1 PASSWORD MODE
PASSWORD MODE: Sets the function operation to ON
for locking the parental function, and OFF for changing
the parental level.
x There will be an old password confirmation when
ON/OFF are interchanged.
x The initial password is 1389
4.6 PARENTAL
PARENTAL: The parental control function works in
conjunction with the different censorship classes assigned
to DVDs. These classes help control the types of DVDs that
the family watches, There are up to 8 censorship classes
for DVDs.

x The PARENTAL control option is changeable when 5.1
PASSWORD MODE set to OFF.
x After setting the level of parental control. Please set the
password as ON to lock the password.
5.2 PASSWORD CHANGE
PASSWORD CHANGE: you can change the password by
entering 6 numerals as new password.
4.7 DEFAULT
DEFAULT: Resets to all the manufacturer's original settings
for this DVD player Press ENTER to perform the reset.
