IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our CRANE Air Purifier. Each unit has been manufactured to
ensure safety and reliability. Before using for the first time, please read the instructions
carefully, and keep them for further reference.
WARNING! READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. Failure to follow all
the instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal
injury.
1. To avoid fire and shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical
outlet
2. Never operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug. Return appliance to
manufacturer for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment or repair.
3. Keep cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire hazard NEVER put the cord
under rugs, near heat registers, radiators, stoves, or heaters.
4. Always place the air purifier where it is not easily knocked over by persons in
household.
5. To protect against electrical hazards DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids. Do
not use near water.
6. Never touch the air purifier with wet hands. ALWAYS plug and unplug unit with
dry hands.
7. Do not operate the product in any greasy environment such as a kitchen. This
product is not intended to filter oil or grease from air.
8. Do not use air purifier in bathrooms or other humid environments, near fireplaces
or in areas where flammable or combustible vapors or products may exist.
9. Always unplug the power cord from electrical outlet when the air purifier is not in
use, before cleaning, inserting or removing parts or before moving to another
location.
10. NEVER run air purifier until it is fully assembled.
11. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this product has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other). This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. Do
not alter the plug in any way.
12. NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings.
13. Use appliance only for the intended household use as described in this manual.
Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric
shock or injury to persons.
14. Do not use outdoors.

15. Never use the power cord to pick up, carry, drag, pull, or lift the air purifier. Do
not pull the cord against or around sharp corners or edges. This could result in
injury to the user and/or damage the cord.
16. Never pull on the cord itself to unplug from power outlet.
17. ALWAYS turn unit off before unplugging.
18. Never block the air openings, or place on soft surface, such as a bed or sofa, as
this could cause the unit to tip over thus blocking the air intake opening.
19. DO NOT place anything on top of unit.
20. NEVER use detergents, gasoline, glass cleaner, paint thinner or other household
solvents to clean any part of the unit.
21. Always place the unit on a smooth, flat, level surface, and away from direct
sunlight. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and areas where it could be
walked on or tripped over. Unplug the unit when not in use and whenever you
clean or move the unit.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRICAL SHOCK, DO NOT
USE THIS AIR PURIFIER WITH ANY SOLID STATE SPEED CONTROL
DEVICE.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The warnings,
cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that
common sense and caution are a factor which cannot be built into this product, but must
be supplied by the operator.
THIS AIR PURIFIER IS NOT A TOY!
Do not let your child play with this appliance. Serious injury and
electrocution might be possible. This appliance has to be operated by an adult only.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the air purifier.
SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS!
CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords are
available from local hardware stores and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If
an extension cord is required, special care and caution is necessary. Also the cord must
be: (1) marked with an electrical rating of 125 V and at least 13 A., 1625 W., and (2)
the cord must be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
ELECTRIC POWER
If electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliances may not operate
properly. The appliances should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other
operating appliances.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this
plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety
feature.
SAFETY WARNING
Although your appliance is easy to operate, for your safety, the below warnings must be
followed:
1. Do not place the appliance near a heat source.
2. Never leave the appliance unattended while connected to the electrical outlet.
3. To avoid any accidents, never cover air grilles when the appliance is in operation.
4. Use the appliance on a stable surface away from water.
5. Do not unplug from the wall socket by pulling on the supply cord.
6. The appliance must be unplugged:
A. Before any cleaning or maintenance
B. After use
C. If it appears to be faulty

OPERATION AND USE
Before Use Instructions
1. Select a firm, level and flat surface to place the air purifier. For proper air flow,
locate the unit at least 3 feet from any wall or furniture.
2. Do not place unit in close proximity to electronic devices that are sensitive to
electrical fields.
3. Do not place unit on metal shelving. Air purifier may be placed on floor,
nightstand, table or desk. Make sure that the outlet grille faces away from the
nearest wall or furniture.
4. Make sure that the intake and outlet grilles are not blocked.
5. Plug into a grounded 120V outlet. See manual SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
6. Turn control knob to desired setting 1, 2, 3
Operating Instructions
1. Turn control knob to desired setting.
2. Select setting 1 for quieter operation or use in the bedroom.
3. Select setting 2 to operate the air purifier on a continuous use.
4. Select setting 3 when high levels of air pollutants are present to quickly
circulate and filter the room air.
5. The Air Purifier Power Light will illuminate when power is ON.
REPLACING THE HEPA TYPE FILTER
On an average the HEPA TYPE Filter needs to be replaced every 3-6 months. Filter life
will depend on air quality and usage.
1. ALWAYS turn off and unplug air purifier from power
outlet before replacing the filter.
2. Remove the filters from the unit by pulling gently toward
you.
3. To replace the HEPA TYPE filter, discard the old filter. DO
NOT ATTEMPT to clean the HEPA TYPE filter. Only the
particle filter can be washed (see cleaning instructions).
Place the washable particle filter back on the new HEPA
TYPE Filter. Insert the new HEPA TYPE filter into the unit
by sliding it into place.
4. To close the rear door, place bottom rear door tab into tab slot and close door.
DO NOT FORCE DOOR TO CLOSE! PLEASE NOTE that if there is any uneven
closure at the bottom of the rear door the door is not closed securely. You will
need to insert bottom tab again into slot and close door again. The rear door
must be evenly flush with the air purifier body

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched OFF before cleaning,
removing filters or attempting to store the item. NEVER PLUG OR UNPLUG UNIT
WITH WET HANDS.
Cleaning the Washable Particle Filter
1. Remove the foam particle filter by pulling out of the unit gently.
2. Rinse the particle filter by hand with warm water. DO NOT place in dishwasher.
DO NOT use hard solvents or detergents. Warm water only.
3. Particle filter MUST be thoroughly dry before replacing back into the air purifier.
Cleaning the Air Purifier
NOTE: NO PART of the air purifier should be placed in the dishwasher.
1. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
2. Once unplugged the exterior of the unit may be cleaned by wiping with a lightly
damp cloth. Caution: DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO GET INTO THE INTAKE AND
OUTLET GRILLS. NEVER USE GASOLINE, POLISH OR ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION TO
CLEAN AIR PURIFIER.
3. The intake grill and outlet grill can be cleaned of dust with a small soft brush.
4. If you wish to lightly clean the inside of the air purifier, please remove filters and
ONLY use a dry, soft cloth to lightly wipe down.
STORING YOUR AIR PURIFIER
Store the appliance in a dry location. Do not place any heavy items on top of appliance
during storage as this may result in possible damage of the appliance. Store the cord in
a clean, dry location away from metal objects. Always check the plug before use to
assure metal items have not become attached.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
CAUTION: DO NOT attempt to service the air purifier yourself. If the air
purifier continues to not operate please call our service center (see toll free
number).

Thank you for purchasing a top quality Crane product. This Air Purifier was tested
and meets our stringent quality standards. This product is warranted to be free
from manufacturing defects under normal use and conditions for 1 year.
WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID WITH A DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE.
The warranty is void if the defect is due to accidental damage, misuse, abuse,
neglect, improper repair or alteration by unauthorized persons or failure to follow
operation instructions provided with the product. This warranty does not apply to
normal wear and tear, as well as commercial use.
The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchase and
does not extend to subsequent owners of the product. Liability under this
warranty is limited to repair, or replacement. In no event shall liability exceed the
purchase price paid by the purchaser of the product. Under no circumstances shall
there be liability for any loss, direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential
damage arising out of in connection with use of this product.
This warranty is only valid in the 48 contiguous states plus the District of
Columbia.
Excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. This
warranty is effective only if the product is purchase and operated in the United
States of America.
This Warranty gives you specific legal rights. However you may have other rights
that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitation on implied
warranties or exclusion of consequential damages therefore these restrictions may
not apply to you.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
In case you find this product to have a manufacturing defect please proceed as
follows:
A. Within 90 days of purchase: return the product to your retailer for a
replacement or a refund.
B. After 90 days and within the warranty period: send the product and all of it’s
accessories to our service center. The consumer will be responsible for all
shipping costs to the Crane Service Center. Crane will not assume
responsibility for loss or damages to the product being returned to us. To
avoid transport damages carefully package the product and insure it with the
carrier. Be sure to fill out the warranty card and include it with a copy of the
dated sales receipt. In return you will receive your repaired item, or a new
product at the service center’s discretion.
