INSTALLATION

NOTE

Install end caps on mufflers before installing mufflers on vehicle.

Install Retention Ring-Style End Caps

1.

See Figure 1. Install the three clip nuts (3) onto the end

cap retention ring (2) in the orientation shown.

2.

Slide retention ring into end cap (4). Align mounting holes in end cap with clip nuts on ring.

3.

Insert end cap and attachment ring into muffler end. Rotate end cap and attachment ring to align the holes.

4.

Install the three countersunk screws. Tighten to 7-9 ft-lbs

(9.5-12.2 Nm).

5.

Repeat for opposite side muffler.

6.

Install mufflers following the instructions in the muffler or exhaust system kit.

Wipe all fingerprints off of exhaust system components after installation and before starting engine. Oil from hands can leave permanent marks on exhaust system finish.

Wipe exhaust system clean.
