User Manual

Congratulations on your purchase of Euroair Detox Air Purifier from Eureka Forbes. We encourage you to read this manual carefully for the correct usage information. With proper care and maintenance, you can benefit more from clean, fresh air for many years of healthy living.

Introduction

Euroair Detox UV Photocatalytic Air Purifier is the latest industry standard in air purification systems. With the advent of UV

Photocatalytic technology refined by our research and development team, we have incorporated this latest technology into our range of air purifiers.

Air purification technology today, is more than the ionizing effect and HEPA filtration. It encompasses these and also disinfects and decomposes toxic contaminants besides killing bacteria, viruses and moulds.

This Air Purifier incorporates the technical features of all other makes put together. It has a 7-stage filtration and treatment function and a negative ion generator. The Pre-filter removes larger pollutants, while the HEPA filter removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. Two layers of carbon filter

(Carbon impregnated media & Granular in Honeycomb structure), absorb odour, smog and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) while the Antimicrobial & Antimildew filter prevents growth of micro-organisms within. A UV germicidal lamp destroys airborne photocatalyst nickel-based filter sterilises & decomposes any left-over microorganisms. Cleaned air is then returned back into the room with an abundance of negative ions for natural fresh and clean air. Indoor air has never been this clean before.

HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter removes 99.97% of airborne particulates down to 0.3 microns in diameter. Effectively filters fine airborne particulates such as dust, viruses, pollen, etc

One of the oldest purification technologies, activated carbon has a large surface area owing to its capillary structure. When synthesised with polyurethane media, it enables fast and direct absorption of various gases and VOCs.

Granular Activated Carbon is designed for capture of VOCs not captured in the earlier stage. It has a higher porosity and larger surface area for a longer lifespan.

Antibacterial

Kills and inhibits growth of bacteria, mildew with antimicrobial agent.

Negative Ions generator

The Photocatalysis process sterilises and deodorises air by killing bacteria, fungi and decomposes Volatile Organic

Compounds (VOCs). It has self cleaning ability, is safe, stable and purifies.

Negative Ions are known for its refreshing and purifying mode. It exists in abundance naturally in forests, mountains and near waterfalls. Negative Ions are known for its revitalising effect on humans.

Operating Instructions

Remote Control

1. The Remote Control transmitter can be stored in the Remote

Control holder located next to the air discharge outlet.

2. A battery has been installed in the Remote Control transmitter.

During initial setup and use, remove the membrane protection sheet.

3. Point the transmitter to the receiver at the air purifier to operate.

4. The maximum distance of use is about 6 meters, depending on the strength of the battery.

5. When replacing a new battery, always use the same type of battery.

6. Dispose of the waste battery properly (according to local laws and regulations).

7. Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

8. Keep the Remote Control transmitter away from water.

Installing the Euroair Detox Air Purifier

1. Place the Air Purifier on a level, stable and dry place.

2. Ensure sufficient space around the unit. Refer to

below or above

6

3. Remove all the plastic protective wrapping from the filter before use.

4. Apply caution when removing the front cover, especially for the first time. Remove the cover by holding the lower left-&-right side and pull gently towards you. Then lift the cover upwards to release the top latches.

5. Replace the front cover by hooking the top portion into place, swing inwards and push gently until the cover snaps into place.

6. Position the Air Purifier in a place for optimum effectiveness in capturing contaminants and optimum air circulation pattern.

7. For smoking rooms, place the Air Purifier at a higher level as smoke rises. Ensure sufficient fresh air ventilation in smoking rooms as recommended by American Society of Heating,

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Refer www.ashrae.org

8. If possible, place the Air Purifier at the opposite end of the air conditioner to create a better air circulation pattern. This would assist in better capture and filtration of fine airborne pollutants.

Care and Maintenance

1.

To maintain optimum performance of this appliance, clean the Pre-filter every month. Frequency of maintenance will depend on the quality of the air in the room.

2.

Be sure to unplug the power cord before cleaning the unit and never handle the power plug with wet hands.

3.

Remove the front cover, Wipe with a damp, soft cloth.

Do NOT use volatile fluids or petrochemicals for cleaning.

F o r s t u b b o r n s t a i n s , u s e m i l d k i t c h e n c l e a n e r s o r dishwashing liquid diluted with warm water. Use of strong or corrosive cleaners may discolour unit permanently. Do not use hot water.

9

4.

Be careful not to damage the plastic tabs as they are designed for hook-on and to activate the Safety Iinterlock

Switch.

5.

Remove the Pre-filter and clean with a vacuum cleaner or wash with a mild detergent solution. Do NOT use hot water, do NOT wash in a washing machine or dish washer and do

NOT dry under direct sunlight.

6.

The Composite Filter consists of a few layers of different filters and is made for easy handling. This filter should be replaced every one to three years depending on the operating environment. The HEPA Filter Replacement

Indicator will blink at 4,000 hours as a reminder to replace the filter.

7.

Remove the Composite Filter by its handle. Inspect and replace it with a new Composite Filter if necessary. The HEPA

& Carbon Filters cannot be washed.

8.

Place the Pre-filter back onto the Filter Frame and gently replace it in its original position.

9.

Press the HEPA Timer Reset Button (the indicator will revert to normal and the timer is reset for count again).

10. The UV Germicidal Lamps should be replaced every 15,000 hours under normal operating conditions. The UV Lamp

Replacement Indicator will blink to remind users of this.

Contact an authorised agent or qualified technician for the replacement.

cleaned every six months under normal operating conditions.

Remove any loose particles with a vacuum cleaner and rinse with water only if necessary. Do NOT wash it in a washing machine or dish washer. Do NOT dry under direct sunlight.

Ensure that the filter is completely dry before replacing it.

Check if the filters are dirty. Clean or replace the filters.

If the unit is placed in a location where airflow is obstructed, relocate the unit closer to the source of pollution.

The air could have been contaminated at the time when the unit was last unplugged. Let the unit run for some time.

The filter could be contaminated with some offensive VOC's or gases during the last use.

If not due for replacement, continue to run the unit in a ventilated room. The UV Photocatalytic process should eradicate this.

Sometimes, new units may carry some smell as

This should disappear after a while.

Air flow is low even on high setting

Check if the filters are dirty. Clean or replace the filters.
