Radio interference with other devices in the environment
z In France, it is not allowed to use the CCIC1410-LAW outside buildings and on
the channels 10 – 13.
z The unit operates on frequencies that are approved for use in the European
Union. When used outside the EU, the national regulations for the use of
frequencies must be observed.
Damage due to unsuitable mounting location
z The environmental conditions recommended by the manufacturer must be
observed.
z Do not operate the device close to sources of powerful electromagnetic
radiation.
z Do not operate the device in dusty places.
z The device should only be used for indoor applications.
z Do not expose the device to mechanical vibrations or shocks.
z Protect the device against moisture.
Danger of electrical shock due to incorrect connection
z Connect the device only to a limited power source.
z This device is designed to work with 5 V DC-systems. Do not connect the device
to any other power systems.
Risk of cable damage due to stress
z Make sure that all outgoing cables and wires are sufficiently strain-relieved.
z Make sure that cables are not under stress, kinked or damaged.

Do not touch the imaging surface of the sensor. Use a soft cloth moistened with
alcohol to clean the surface if it is touched accidentally.

CMOS characteristics
The following conditions may be observed when using a CMOS camera. These are
inherent in the design and do not stem from any fault in the camera itself.
1.4
Vertical smear
This phenomenon occurs when viewing a very bright object.
Patterned noise
This is a fixed pattern, which may appear over the entire monitor screen
when the camera is operated at high temperatures or in low illumination
environments.
Jagged picture
When viewing stripes, straight lines, or similar patterns, the image on
the screen may appear jagged.

Description of the equipment
SIEMENS CCIC1410 IP cameras are easy-to-use network cameras for security
applications in offices and residential areas, specifically designed with a compact
exterior. Despite its ultra-compact size, the camera incorporates many advanced
features to meet IT security requirements.
The embedded SOC enables the camera to simultaneously deliver dual streams in
MPEG4 and MJPEG with different video resolution and quality upon different
devices, such as digital video recorders SISTORE MX HVR/NVS, PC or 3G cell
phones. SIEMENS CCIC1410-LAW also supports built-in 802.11b/g WLAN
capability, which prevents tangled cables.
Additionally CCIC1410-LA and -LAW come with a pushbutton on the front side for
privacy use. The user can manually stop the operation of video monitoring with
ease to protect from unwanted observation. This functionality can be activated or
deactivated by system administrator only.

Hardware reset
There is a reset button on the back cover of the network camera (see chapter 6.2
Front and rear views of the camera, No. 5). It is used to reboot the network camera
or to reset the network camera to the factory default configuration. Depending on
the functional problem, rebooting may set the network camera back to normal
state. If the problem remains after rebooting, restore the network camera settings
to the factory default and install the software again.
Reboot:
Press and release the reset button. The status LED on the front will blink red.
Restore:
Press the reset button continuously until the status LED on the front blinks in red
and green simultaneously. Note that all settings will be reset to factory default.

Installation
7.1
Network setup
This section explains how to configure the network camera for Internet connection.
1.
If you have external devices such as sensors and alarms, connect them to the
general I/O terminal block.
2.
Connect the camera to a switch/hub using an Ethernet cable. Use a Category
5 cross cable when the network camera is directly connected to a PC.

Connect the supplied power adapter from the network camera to a power
outlet.

There are several ways to set up the network camera via the Internet:
z Set up the network camera behind a router.
z Utilize a static IP.
z Use PPPoE.

Internet connection via a router
Before setting up the network camera over the Internet, make sure you have a
router, and follow the steps below.
1.
Connect your network camera behind a router. The Internet environment is
illustrated as below. For information on how to obtain an IP address, see
chapter 8.5: Network settings.
2.
In this example, the Local Area Network (LAN) IP address of your network
camera is 192.168.0.3. Please forward the following ports for the network
camera on the router.
– HTTP port
– RTSP port
– RTP port for audio
– RTCP port for audio
– RTP port for video
– RTCP port for video
If you have changed the port numbers on the Network page, please open the
ports accordingly on your router. For information on how to forward ports on
the router, please refer to the user’s manual of your router.
3.
Find out the public IP address of your router provided by your ISP (Internet
Service Provider). Use the public IP and the secondary HTTP port to access
the network camera from the Internet (see chapter 9.7.1: Network type).

Internet connection with static IP
Choose this connection type if you are required to use a static IP for the network
camera and proceed as follows.

Set up the network camera in the LAN (see chapter 8.5.2).
2.
Go to Configuration > Network > Network Type.
3.
Select LAN > Use fixed IP address.
4.
Enter the static IP, Subnet mask, Default router, Primary DNS provided by
your ISP.
Internet connection via PPPoE (Point-to-Point over Ethernet)
Choose this connection type if you are connected to the Internet via a DSL Line
(see chapter 8.5.1: PPPoE setting).

CCIC1410 Installation Wizard
The initial setup of the CCIC1410 network camera is done with the
CCIC1410 Installation Wizard. For the first use of the CCIC1410 Installation
Wizard, just follow the steps of the Wizard Tool.
The CCIC1410 Installation Wizard is a software that helps you installing your
CCIC1410 camera.
You first need to set up the Installation Wizard on your PC, then you can start the
configuration.

Set up the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard
1.
Put the installation disk into the CD-ROM drive of your PC.

The installation should start automatically.
If the installation does not start, click Start in the lower left corner of your
screen, open My Computer and double-click on the CD-ROM icon.

The following window will appear.

Please read the license agreement first.
4.
Click on I Agree to continue the installation process.

Select the additional component you want to install. The component Create
shortcut on desktop will create a shortcut on the desktop. This will make it
more convenient for you to launch Install Wizard 2.

The install system will install the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard to your
computer, and a progress bar will be displayed on the dialog.

On the left side, several function buttons are situated, e.g. the Manual Setup
button, etc. When you click on the arrow button, you will see more advanced
functional buttons.

Select a device for the configuration
1.
Open the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard, see chapter 8.2.
2.
Select a device in the device list by clicking on it.

The three buttons on the left (“Manual Setup”, “Firmware Upgrade”, and
“Restore Default”) will not be enabled until at least one device is selected.

Refreshing the device list (and linking to the devices)
Clicking on the Refresh Devices button will refresh the device list and search for
all devices on the LAN again. Refreshing the device list will take several seconds.

Change host name

The Hostname is used for the homepage title of the main page and is displayed as
the title in the video window of the main page. The maximum string length is 40
characters or 20 characters in double-byte character systems like Chinese or
Japanese.

Change administrator password

To change the administrator’s password, enter the new password in both the
Password and the Confirm Password text boxes identically. The text entered will
be displayed as asterisks for security purposes. The maximum password length

The easiest way is synchronize the device with your computer time.

z “Synchronize to network time server automatically”:
The device is automatically synchronized with timeservers over the Internet
every hour.
If you want to keep the current date and time, select “Keep current date and time”.

“SSID” is a name that identifies a wireless network. Access points and wireless
clients attempting to connect to a specific WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network)
must use the same SSID. The default setting is "default".
Note: The maximum length of SSID is 32 single-byte characters.
z Wireless mode
Click on the pull-down menu, and you can see the following options:
– “Infrastructure”
The device is connected to the WLAN via an Access Point (the default
setting).
– “Ad-Hoc”
The device is connected directly to a host equipped with a wireless adapter in
peer-to-peer mode.
– “Channel”
While in Infrastructure mode, the channel will be set automatically to the same
channel setting of the selected Access Point. While in Ad-Hoc mode, the

channel must be set to the same channel for each wireless adapter. The
default channel setting depends on the regional settings.
z Encrypt
You can choose the desired encryption type in the pull-down menu. There are
three options: None, WEP and WPA-PSK.
– None
If your wireless environment doesn’t need encryption, please choose “None”.
– WEP
If your encryption type is WEP, choose the option “WEP” in the Encrypt pulldown menu (Fig. 7). You need to make the following entries:

“ASCII” is a code for representing English letters as numbers from 0 – 127
except “, <, > and space characters that are reserved.
“Key”:
Enter a key in either hexadecimal or ASCII format. For the different key
lengths the acceptable input lengths are listed as follows:
64 bits key length: 10 Hex digits or 5 characters.
128 bits key length: 26 Hex digits or 13 characters.
– WPA-PSK
If your encryption type is WPA, choose the option “WPA-PSK”. You need to
enter the pre-shared key and choose a proper encryption algorithm (TKIP,
AES).

Access Information page
The Access Information page provides all the information about how to access
the server. There are three access types:
z Access from Home:
If you access the server from home, you can use the domain name (or IP
address) and port (if the http port is not 80) to connect the server.
z Access via Internet:
If you access the server via the Internet, or if you want to share the server with
your family or friends, you should use this IP address (or domain name) and
port. If the server is behind the router, it will check whether the UPnP or port
mapping is enabled. If the UPnP and port mapping failed, a “Warning Icon” will
be displayed after the link. This means that the server won’t be able to access
from Internet.
z Access from Quicktime/Cellphone:
If your server supports the RTSP, a link will be displayed for you to access from
QuickTime or other devices supporting RTSP (such as 3GPP Mobile Phone).
You can connect to the server via this link.

UDP unicast:
This protocol allows several real-time audio and video streams. However, network
packets may be lost due to network burst traffic and images may be damaged.
Activate UDP connection when the occasion requires time-sensitive responses and
the video quality is less important. Note that each unicast client connecting to the
server takes up additional bandwidth and the network camera allows up to ten
simultaneous accesses.
UDP multicast:
This protocol allows multicast-enabled routers to forward network packets to all
clients requesting streaming media. This helps to reduce the network transmission
load of the network camera while serving multiple clients at the same time. Note
that to utilize this feature, the network camera must be configured to enable
multicast streaming at the same time.
TCP:
This protocol guarantees the complete delivery of streaming data and thus
provides better video quality. Nevertheless, the downside with this protocol is that
its real-time effect is not as good as that of the UDP protocol.
HTTP:
This protocol allows the same quality as the TCP protocol and there is no need to
open a specific port for streaming under specific network environments. Users
inside a firewall can utilize this protocol to allow streaming data to come through.
8.8.4
MP4 saving options (storing destination and file name)

To access the network camera from the

sent out from a LAN. To utilize this feature,
make sure that your router supports UPnP™
and it is activated.
PPPoE (Point-to-point protocol over Ethernet)
Select this option to configure your network camera to make it accessible
from anywhere as long as there is an Internet connection. Note that to
utilize this feature, it requires an account provided by your ISP.
Proceed as follows to acquire your network camera’s public IP address.
1. Set up the network camera in LAN.
2. Go to Configuration > Application > Server Settings (please refer to
Server Settings in chapter 9.13 Application settings) to add a new server
-- email or FTP server.
3. Go to Configuration > Application > Media Settings (please refer to
Media Settings in chapter 9.13 Application settings). Select System log
so that you will receive a list of system logs in TXT file format containing
the network camera’s public IP address on your email or FTP server.
4. Go to Configuration > Network > Network Type. Select PPPoE and enter
the user name and password provided by your ISP. Click Save for your
changes to take effect.
5. The network camera starts to reboot.
NOTE:
If the default ports are already used by other devices connecting to the
same router, the network camera will select other ports.
If UPnP™ is not supported by your router, you will see the following
message:
Error: Router does not support UPnP forwarding.

Primary stream port / Secondary stream port
The primary and the secondary stream are accessed via different port numbers.
Please define the port numbers for each video stream according to your network
requirements.
The port number can be assigned between 80 and 65535. If the ports are
incorrectly assigned, a warning message will be displayed.
Stream name:
Access name for stream 1 or stream 2.
If port of motion jpeg stream 1 is 80, the cgi to request stream 1 is
http://192.168.0.10:80/cgi-bin/liveimage.
If port of motion jpeg stream 2 is 81, the cgi to request stream 2 is
http://192.168.0.10:81/cgi-bin/liveimage.
Please note that the stream name is the same for stream 1 and stream 2.
The Web server will have the same ports as the motion jpeg streaming ports
(stream1 and stream2). Actually, there are 2 ports for webpage access and the
motion jpeg streaming server also uses these 2 ports for dual streams. They are
linked and cannot be separated.
NOTE
To utilize the HTTP authentication, make sure that you have set a password for the network camera
first.
Microsoft® Internet Explorer does not support server push technology; therefore, using
http://<ipaddress>:<http port>/<access name for stream1 or stream2> will fail to access the
network camera.

Multicast settings for stream 1 / Multicast settings for stream 2:
Select Always multicast to enable multicast for stream 1 or stream 2. Unicast
video transmission delivers a stream through point-to-point transmission; multicast,
on the other hand, sends a stream to the multicast group address and allows
multiple clients to acquire the stream by requesting a copy from the Multicast group
address.
The five ports can be changed between 1025 and 65535. The multicast RTP port
must be even-numbered and the multicast RTCP port number is always the
multicast RTP port number plus one, and thus it is always odd-numbered. When
the multicast RTP port changes, the multicast RTCP port will change accordingly.
If the multicast RTP video ports are incorrectly assigned, a warning message is
displayed.
Multicast TTL [1 – 255]: The multicast TTL (Time to live) is the value that tells the
router the time range within which a packet can be forwarded.
NOTE
To utilize the RTSP streaming authentication, make sure that you have set a password for the network
camera first.

Wireless mode:
Click on the pull-down menu to select from the following options:
z Infrastructure:
The network camera is connected to the WLAN via an Access Point (default
setting).
z Ad-Hoc:
The network camera is connected directly to a host equipped with a wireless
adapter in a peer-to-peer environment.
Channel:
While in infrastructure mode, the channel is selected automatically to match the
channel setting for the selected Access Point. In Ad-Hoc mode, the channel must
be manually set to the same channel for each wireless adapter. The default
channel setting depends on the regional settings.
TX rate:
This field is for selecting the maximum transmission rate on the network. The
default setting is “Auto”, which means that the network camera will try to connect to
the other wireless device at highest transmission rate.
Security:
Select the data encrypt method. There are four types from low to high: none, WEP,
WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK.
z Security: None:
No data encryption.

key lengths. Acceptable input lengths are as follows: 64 bits key length:
10 Hex digits or 5 characters. 128 bites key length: 26 Hex digits or 13

A security protocol used in the IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. TKIP is a
“wrapper” that goes around the existing WEP encryption. TKIP
comprises the same encryption engine and RC4 algorithm defined for
WEP. However, the key used for encryption in TKIP is 128 bits long. This

– Pre-shared Key
Enter a key in ASCII format. The length of the key is 8 – 63.
NOTE
When 22(“), 3C(<) or 3E(>) are input in the network key, the key format cannot be changed to ASCII
format.
z WPA2-PSK:
WPA2 pre-shared key. The advanced protocol, certified through Wi-Fi Alliance’s
WPA2 program, implements the mandatory elements of 802.11i. In particular, it
introduces a new AES-based algorithm, CCMP, that is considered fully secure.
NOTE
After wireless configurations are completed, click Save and the camera will reboot. Wait until the live.
image is reloaded to your browser. For SIEMENS CCIC1410-LAW cameras, you have to unplug the
power cable and Ethernet cable from the camera; then re-plug the power cable to the camera. The
camera will switch to wireless mode.

Allowed List or the Denied List section. A total of ten lists can be configured for
both sections.
NOTE
For example, when the range of the allowed list is set from 1.1.1.0 to 192.255.255.255 and the range
of the denied list is set from 1.1.1.0 to 170.255.255.255, only user IP addresses between 171.0.0.0
and 192.255.255.255 can access the network camera.

Power line frequency:
Select the appropriate power line frequency for your location to eliminate image
flickering. Note that after the power line frequency is changed, it is required to
disconnect and reconnect the power cord of the network camera in order for the
new setting to take effect.
Video orientation:
"Flip" vertically reflects the display of the live video. "Mirror" horizontally reflects the
display of the live video. Select both options if the network camera is installed
upside-down (e.g. on a ceiling) to correct the image orientation.
Maximum exposure time:
1/30 S, 1/15 S, and Auto.
Overlay title and time stamp on video:
Select this option to insert the video title and time in the video stream. Note that
when the image size is set to 176 x 144, only the time will be stamped on video
streams.
Image Settings
Click Image Settings to open the image settings page. In this page, you can finetune white balance, brightness, saturation, contrast, and sharpness for video
compensation.
– Brightness:
Adjust the image brightness level, which ranges from -5 to +5. The default value
is set to 0.

– Saturation:
Adjust the image saturation level, which ranges from -5 to +5. The default value
is set to 0.
– Contrast:
Adjust the image contrast level, which ranges from -5 to +5. The default value is

– Sharpness:
Adjust the image sharpness level, which ranges from -3 to +3. The default value
is set to +3.
– White balance:
Adjust the value for best colour temperature. "Auto" – The network camera
automatically adjusts the colour temperature of light according to the light
source. The white balance setting defaults to "Auto" and works well in most
situations.
Keep current value. Proceed as follows to manually set the white balance to
compensate for the ambient lighting conditions.
1.
Set the white balance to "Auto" and click Save.
2.
Place a sheet of white paper in front of the lens; then allow the network
camera to adjust the colour temperature automatically.
3.
Select "Keep current value" to confirm the setting while the white balance is
being measured.
4.
Click Save for the setting to take effect.
Privacy mask
Click Privacy Mask to open the privacy mask page. In this page, you can mask out
sensitive zones for privacy concerns.
To set the privacy mask windows, proceed as follows:
1.
Click New to add a new window.
2.
You can resize and drag-drop the window, which should be at least twice the
size of the object (height and width) you want to cover.
3.
Enter a descriptive window name and click Save for the settings to take effect.
4.
Select Enable privacy mask to enable this function.

Video quality settings for stream 1 / stream 2:
You can set up two separate streams for the network camera for different viewing
devices. For example, set the network camera to a smaller image size and a lower
bit rate for remote viewing on mobile phones. Or, set the network camera to a
larger video size and a higher bit rate for live viewing on web browsers.
– Mode:
The network camera offers two video compression standards for real-time
viewing: MPEG4 and MJPEG.
If MPEG4 mode is selected, it is streamed in RTSP protocol. There are four
parameters provided in MPEG-4 mode for video performance adjustment.
– Frame size:
Select the video size. Note that a larger image size takes up more bandwidth.
The image sizes are selectable in the following resolutions: 176 x 144, 352 x 240
and 640 x 480.
– Maximum frame rate:
This limits the maximum frame refresh rate per second. Set the image rate
higher for a smoother video quality.
If the power line frequency is set to 50 Hz, the image rates are selectable at the
following rates: 1 ips, 2 ips, 3 ips, 5 ips, 8 ips, 10 ips, 15 ips, 20 ips and 25 ips. If
the power line frequency is set to 60 Hz, the image rates are selectable at the
following rates: 1 ips, 2 ips, 3 ips, 5 ips, 8 ips, 10 ips, 15 ips, 20 ips, 25 ips and
30 ips.
– Intra frame period:
Determine how often to send an I-frame. The shorter the duration, the more
likely you will get a better video quality, but at the cost of higher network
bandwidth consumption. Select the intra frame period from the following values:
1/4 second, 1/2 second, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds and 4 seconds.

– Video quality:
A complex scene generally produces larger file sizes, meaning that higher
bandwidth will be needed for data transmission. Therefore, if Constant bit rate
is selected, the bandwidth utilization is fixed at the selected level, resulting in
variable video quality performances. The bit rates are selectable at the following
rates: 20 Kbps, 30 Kbps, 40 Kbps, 50 Kbps, 64 Kbps, 128 Kbps, 256 Kbps,
512 Kbps, 768 Kbps, 1 Mbps, 1.5 Mbps, 2 Mbps, 3 Mbps and 4 Mbps.
On the other hand, if Fixed quality is selected, all images are transmitted with
the same quality; bandwidth utilization is therefore unpredictable. The following
video quality settings are selectable: Medium, Standard, Good, Detailed and
Excellent.
If JPEG mode is selected, the network camera continuously sends JPEG
images to the clients, producing dynamic effects similar to movies. Every single
JPEG image transmitted guarantees the same image quality, which in turn
comes at the expense of variable bandwidth usage. As the media contents are a
combination of JPEG images, no audio data is transmitted to the clients.
– Maximum frame rate
This limits the maximum frame refresh rate per second. Set the image rate
higher for a smoother video quality.
If the power line frequency is set to 50 Hz, the image rates are selectable at the
following rates: 1 ips, 2 ips, 3 ips, 5 ips, 8 ips, 10 ips, 15 ips, 20 ips and 25 ips. If
the power line frequency is set to 60 Hz, the image rates are selectable at the
following rates: 1 ips, 2 ips, 3 ips, 5 ips, 8 ips, 10 ips, 15 ips, 20 ips, 25 ips and
30 ips.
– Video quality:
The following video quality settings are selectable: Medium, Standard, Good,

G.711 targets at performing good sound quality at the cost of higher
bandwidth consumption. You can select a-law or µ-law standard.
– GSM-ARM
GSM-ARM is designed to optimize speech quality and requires less
bandwidth. The bit rates are selectable at the following rates: 4.75 Kbps,
5.15 bps, 5.90 Kbps, 6.7 Kbps, 7.4 Kbps, 7.95 Kbps, 10.2 Kbps and
12.2 Kbps.

Enable motion detection
1.
Mark the checkbox Enable motion detection to enable this function.
The Percentage Indicator will rise or fall depending on the image variation. When
motions are detected by the network camera and the percentage exceeds the
defined threshold, a red bar rises. Meanwhile, the motion detection window will be
displayed with a red frame around it. Photos or videos can be captured instantly
and be sent to the remote server (Email, FTP) by utilizing this feature as a trigger
source.
A green bar indicates that even though motions are detected, the event will not be
triggered because the image variations are still below the defined threshold.

Application settings
This section explains how to configure the network camera to react in response to
particular situations. A typical application is that when a motion is detected, the
network camera sends buffered images to a FTP server or via e-mail as
notifications.

Open the CCIC1410 Homepage (see chapter 9.1).

On the left hand side, choose the menu item Application.

Choose the desired settings.

Click Add or Delete.
In the illustration above, an event can be triggered by many sources, such as
motion detection or external digital input devices. When an event is triggered, you
can specify what kind of action will be performed. You can configure the network
camera to send snapshots or videos to your email address or FTP site.
To configure an event, it is recommended to configure the server and media
settings first so that the network camera will know what action shall be performed
when a trigger is activated.

In this page, you can arrange the three elements – Trigger, Schedule and Action –
to configure an event. A total of three event settings can be configured.

Enter a descriptive name for the event.

– Priority:
Select the relative importance of this event (High, Normal, and Low). Events with
higher priority setting will be executed first.
– Detect next after …… second(s):
Enter the duration in seconds for which motion detection is to be paused after a

Also referred to as the cause or stimulus, defines when to trigger the event. The
trigger source can be configured to use the network camera’s built-in motion
detection mechanism or external digital input devices. There are four choices of
trigger sources:
– Video motion detection:
Select this option to allow the network camera to use the built-in motion
detection mechanism as a trigger source. To enable this function, you need to
configure motion detection first. For more information, please refer to chapter
9.12 Motion detection settings.
– Periodically:
Select this option to allow the network camera to trigger an event periodically.
The max. value that can be set is 999 minutes.
– Digital input:
Select one of the digital inputs to allow the network camera to use an external
digital input device as a trigger source. Depending on your applications, there
are digital input devices available on the market that sense e.g. any changes in

– System boot:
Select this option to allow the network camera to trigger when the power of the
network camera is disconnected.
z Event Schedule:
The effective period in which the event stays active. Specify the effective period for
the event.
– Select the days on a weekly basis.
– Select the time for recording in 24-hr time.
z Action:
Also referred to as the effect, defines the action to be performed by the network
camera when the trigger is activated. Select the action to be performed when a
trigger is activated.
– Trigger digital output for ….. seconds:
Select this option to activate an external digital output device when an event is
triggered. Specify the duration of the trigger interval in the text box.
– Server name / Media name:
Select the server and media name to allow the network camera to send the
media files to the server when a trigger is activated.
When completed, mark the checkbox Enable this event. Click Save for your
settings to take effect and then click Close to exit this page. The new event name
will appear in the event drop-down list on the application page. To remove an event
setting from the list, select an event name from the drop-down list and then click
Delete.

Media Settings
In the Media Settings section, click Add to open the media setting page.
In this page, you can specify what kind of media is to be sent when a trigger is
activated. A total of five media settings can be configured.
z Media name:
Enter a descriptive name for the media. Media Type: There are three choices of

seven images can be generated. For example, if both the Send pre-event
images and Send post-event images are set to seven, a total of 15 images are
generated after a trigger is activated.

Select whether to record video clips from stream 1 or stream 2.

Pre-event recording:
The network camera has a buffer area; it temporarily holds data up to a certain
limit. Specify for how many seconds video clips are to be recorded before a
trigger is activated. Up to nine seconds can be set.

Maximum duration:
Specify the maximum recording duration in seconds. Up to ten seconds can be
set. For example, if the pre-event recording is set to five seconds and the
maximum duration is set to ten seconds, the network camera continues to
record for another four seconds after a trigger is activated.

NOTE
The maximum duration depends on the selected encoder for the source (MPEG-4 / MJPEG), the
selected quality settings, and the maximum file size. Apart from the max. duration setting, please
check the actual duration based on the source settings.
– System log:
Select to send a system log when a trigger is activated.
When completed, click Save for your settings to take effect and then click Close to
exit this page. The new media name will appear in the media drop-down list on the
Application page as below. To remove a media setting from the list, select a media
name from the drop-down list and then click Delete. Note that an event setting can
only be deleted when the media setting is not linked to an event.
Server settings
In the Server settings section, click Add to open the server setting page.
In this page, you can specify where the notification messages will be sent when a
trigger is activated. A total of five server settings can be configured.

Remote folder name:
Enter a folder in which to save the media file. If the folder name does not exist,
the network camera will create one on the FTP server.

Passive mode:
Most firewalls do not accept new connections initiated by external requests. If
the FTP server supports passive mode, select this option to enable passive
mode FTP and allow data transmission to pass through the firewall.
To verify if the FTP settings are correctly configured, click Test. The result will
be shown in a pop-up window. If it works, you will also receive a test.txt file on
the FTP server.
– HTTP:
Select to send the media to an HTTP server when a trigger is activated.

System log
This section explains how to configure the network camera to send the system log
to a remote server as a backup. The system log is composed of the following two
columns: Remote Log and Current Log.

Remote log
You can configure the network camera to send the system log file to a remote
server as a log backup. Before utilizing this feature, it is recommended to install a

log-recording tool to receive system log messages from the network camera. For
example "Kiwi Syslog Daemon".

9.16.1 Reboot
This feature allows you to restart the network camera. It takes about 1 – 2 minutes
to complete the process. When completed, the live video will be displayed in your
browser.

to export an *.xml-file from the network camera.

the starting time and ending time of the DST.

In the Upload section, click Browse… and specify the XML file.

This chapter explains how to access the video streams through web browsers,
RTSP players, 3GPP-compatible mobile devices. For accessing the video streams
via SIEMENS digital recorders SISTORE MX HVR/NVS, please refer to the
respective manuals.

Via the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard

Open the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard (see chapter 8.2).

Using 3GPP-compatible mobile devices
To view the streaming media through 3GPP-compatible mobile devices, make sure
the network camera can be accessed from the Internet.
To utilize this feature, please check the following settings on your network camera:
1.
As most players on 3GPP mobile phones do not support RTSP
authentication, make sure the authentication of RTSP streaming is disabled.
For more information, see chapter 9.7.4: RTSP streaming.
2.
As the 3G network bandwidth is limited, large video sizes cannot be handled.
Please set the video and audio streaming parameters as listed below. For
more information, see chapter 9.11: Audio and video.

Upgrade firmware
This feature allows you to upgrade the firmware on your network camera. It takes
about five minutes to complete the process.
WARNING
Do not power off the network camera during the upgrade process and ensure
that the PC running the upgrade software (Installation Wizard / Web Browser) is
running stable. Otherwise the camera will be rendered defective (out-ofwarranty).
There are two ways to upgrade the firmware:
z Using the CCIC1410 Homepage
z Using the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard
11.1
Using the CCIC1410 Homepage
1.
Download a new firmware file from SIEMENS website:
http://www.siemens.com/ip-cameras. The file is in pkg file format.
2.
Open the CCIC1410 Homepage (see chapter 9.1).
3.
Choose the Configuration menu.
4.
On the left hand side, choose the menu item Maintenance.
5.
In the Upgrade firmware section, click Browse and select the correct
firmware file.
6.
Click Upgrade.

The network camera starts to upgrade and will reboot automatically when
the upgrade is complete.
Î
The message “Reboot system now!! This connection will close”
indicates that the upgrade was successful.
Re-access the network camera.
Using the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard
NOTE
The CCIC1410 Installation Wizard allows you to upgrade several devices (of the same model) at the
same time. If you select different models, then the Firmware Upgrade button will be disabled.
1.
Select one device or several devices in the device list on which you want to
upgrade the firmware (see chapter 8.3.1: Select a device for the
configuration).
2.
Click the Firmware Upgrade button on the left side.

In the Selected devices information section, you will see tabs with IP
addresses if more than one device was selected.

Firmware version: The version number of the selected firmware.

the selected device(s).

When you have selected a file, the CCIC1410 Installation Wizard will check
whether the file you selected is correct. If it is the correct version, then the
package information will display the information about the file and enable
the Start upgrade button. If it is not the correct version, a warning
message will appear.
Click the Start upgrade button to upgrade the firmware of the selected
device(s). A pop-up dialog window indicating the progress of the upgrading
process appears.
Î
Usually, it will take about 5 to 10 minutes to finish the firmware upgrade. It
depends on your server model and network bandwidth. We recommend
performing the upgrade process in a wired LAN environment rather than a
PPPoE or wireless environment.
Î
When the upgrade is complete, the following dialog window opens.
