can be prevented. Careful and regular cteaning can extend the amount of time you wiLLhave with
your new Entertainment Machine. Be sure to turn the power off and putt out the plug before you begin any cleaning.
1. Here'sa greatway to keepthe dustoff your screen for a white.Wet a soft cloth in a mixtureof lukewarmwater anda Littlefabric softeneror dishwashingdetergent.Wringthe cloth until it's almostdry,
andthen useit to wipe the screen.
2. Makesurethe excesswateris off the screen,andthen let it air-drybefore you turn on your
EntertainmentMachine.

No color, but the sound is O.K.
• Checkthe color control in the Video menu.

Picture has a big black box
on it, but the sound is O.K.
• The CC(closed caption) option may be in Text mode.Select OFFin the

Picture has two horizontal
black bars, one on top and
one on bottom,
• Yourprogramis in Letterbox. Thismeansthat the shape of yourTV is
square,but the programis a rectangle. Thinkof the bars as empty spacethe
programdoesn't till; not picturethat's blockedout. Becausethis format is a
direct representationof film as you see it in the movies, you are actuallyseeing
MOREof the programwhen you see those bars. Trustus.
Remote control doesn't work.
• Make surethe batteries are freshand installed properly.

the right modefor your equipment.
