The OMEGA® CN3220 Ramp/Soak
Temperature/Process Controller
provides sophisticated, powerful
control in an easy-to-use, compact
1
⁄4 DIN package. The CN3220 features
field-selectable PID or ON/OFF
control modes; 4 ramp/soak programs
(each having 8 intervals); auto/manual
control; heat/cool (bimodal) control;
relay,ac SSR, 4-20 mA or dc pulse
plug-in outputs modules; high, low or
deviation, normally energized or deenergized field programmable alarm
modes; and 6 coded security levels to
protect against unauthorized
programming.
4 ramp/soak programs, each
having 8 intervals. The programs
can be linked to each other, allowing
up to 254 repetitions, and looping
intervals within a program (up to
10,000 times) facilitates repetitive
temperature cycling applications.
Each interval is programmable as
ramp up, ramp down or soak, in
hours, minutes or seconds.

RS-422 and RS-485 serial interfaces
are available (using communications
options A, B, C or E) and operate
using user-created software or the
OMEGA® software package
CN3200-SOFT.
Automatic datalogging gives a
printout and/or display of up to 10
different control parameters and
variables as often as every minute,
or whatever time interval is chosen.
Optional 8 event outputs per
interval; each can be configured to
initiate a remote activity, such as a
conveyor, valve, or intermediate
pilot device. A total of 10 event
outputs is possible by configuring
alarms 1 and 2 as event outputs.
No computer expertise or
programming experience is required
to use the single drop digital
communications and automatic
datalogging features.
Optional digital communications
interface (using option codes 5, 6,
7 or 8) operates without a software
program. By connecting a standard
ASCII data terminal or PC, you can
select or adjust any parameter that
can be accessed from the

with bumpless, balanceless transfer
between automatic and manual
operation.
Heat/cool (bimodal), control
With up to 3 outputs, the controller
can be configured as:
• Heat Control, Cool Control,
Alarm Output
• Heat Control, 2 Alarm Outputs
• Cool Control, 2 Alarm Outputs
with Alarm Outputs configurable as
Event Outputs if desired. Both Heat
and Cool outputs can be individually
configured as PID or ON/OFF
control.
Programming logically organized
into PAGES of like MENU numbers,
requiring only simple menu
selections. The result is a specific
address for each and every control
adjustment or selection to be made,
quick and easy programming, and no
confusion!
