The D-Link DWS-3024/DWS-3026 L2+ Gigabit Wireless
Switches are optimized for wireless network deployment
in business environments. With these devices, business
can install high-performance, secure, manageable and
scalable unified wired/wireless LAN switching. With combo
SFP, open slots for optional 10-Gigabit connection 1, Power
over Ethernet and redundant power supply (RPS) support,
these Gigabit wireless switches provide enterprises with
easy upgrade to next-generation 802.11n wireless LAN,
simple deployment of wireless devices regardless of
physical locations, and centralized management of secure
wireless mobility and policy enforcement.
Core Units Controlling Entire Wireless Network.
The DWS-3024/DWS-3026 Gigabit Wireless Switches
are core units that consolidate the security, manage the
bandwidth and maintain the intelligence of the entire
wireless network. In addition to monitoring users’ identities
and maintaining their authentication as they roam, these
wireless switches can configure and control all aspects
of the wireless access points, including: RF channel and
power management, wireless traffic segmentation, AP
roaming and load balancing, rouge AP detection and AP
access security.
High Performance, Easy Deployment.
Designed for distributed deployments in the wiring closet,
each wireless switch can support up to 48 wireless access
points. AP connection can be directly to the wireless
switch ports, or indirectly through a LAN switch. With
802.3af PoE integrated into every port, these switches
allow connected AP to be located at places difficult to
access from AC power sources. Gigabit transmission
future-proof hardware investments when the network
is installed with next-generation higher-speed 802.11n
wireless standard devices.
24 Gigabit Ports, No Restriction on Port Usage.
Each DWS-3024/DWS-3026 provides 24 10/100/1000BASET Gigabit ports and 4 combo SFP. Each of the
10/100/1000BASE-T ports can connect to a wireless access
point, or to a wired LAN device, such as a server, a network
storage device, or simply another LAN switch. The combo
SFP allows for flexible fiber connection, while optional 10Gigabit modules 1 enable bottleneck-free switch-to-switch
cascading or attachment to a high-speed fiber backbone.
Scalable Expansion & Unified Wired/Wireless Deployment.
Small to Medium Enterprises (SMB) may require only one
wireless switch to manage a few AP or to use for mixed
wired/wireless LAN purposes. When the number of AP is
augmented, up to 4 switches can be added to form a large
centralized management system. With easy expansion,
Gigabit speed to support next-generation high-speed AP,
and L3 routing to support enterprise-wide inter-subnet
roaming, the DWS-3024/3026 provide an architecture
that unifies and simplifies an otherwise complex WLAN
environment, readily prepare an existing network for
future technology upgrades.
Authentication, Security & Power Management..
The DWS-3024/DWS-3026 provide user-based services
such as virtual private group (SSID) membership,
encryption type, authentication, location tracking and
associated network statistics. Authorizations stay with
users wherever they roam because all deployed DWS3024/DWS-3026 share stored information, ensuring secure
access and connectivity to the right services. In addition
to checking the identity of a connecting user from the
switch’s local database, user authentication policies can
be sent back to an external RADIUS server for complete
verification. This offloading capability ensures that
the wireless switch will not overload when clients are
simultaneously connecting to the network.

For power management, the DWS-3024/ DWS-3026 allow
administrators to set the AP transmit output power to meet
individual country regulations, and perform AP reboot
from a remote place when required.
Simplified Configuration & Deployment.
Through a centralized management platform, network
maintenance and configuration become a more efficient
process. If any access point were to fail, administrators
can instantly identify the location of the failed AP and
immediately swap it out with another AP. The DWS-3024/
DWS-3026 switches will automatically configure the new
AP with the same configuration as the previous unit.
Maximum Performance.
In addition to performing enhanced Layer 2+ forwarding,
the DWS-3024/ DWS-3026 also provides Layer 3/4 and
identity-tracking capabilities. Through centralized RF
policies, auto-selection of the least utilized channels
and AP load balancing, the DWS-3024/ DWS-3026 can
effectively manage the wireless bandwidth to optimize
WLAN traffic. Roaming across different AP is fast due
to intra-switch roaming, inter-subnet roaming and the
Gigabit speed transmission from the AP to the switch.
These switches also offer resilient functions such as
redundant load-sharing Gigabit links, 802.1q VLAN traffic
segmentation, and IGMP snooping vital to supporting IP
multicast streams.
Maximum Network Protection.
Each client connecting to the wireless network goes
through a strict authentication process to ensure
maximum security. Whether the client is an assigned user,
visiting guest, or just has department access, the DWS3024/ DWS-3026 protect the entire network infrastructure
with its vast array of security protocols. These protocols
include WPA/WPA2, 802.1x user authentication, and
802.11i standard security.

The DWL-3500AP Wireless Switching 108 G Access
Point is a high-performance wireless access device
that provides up to 108Mbps transmission rates 1 on
the 2.4GHz frequency band. This AP provides unparallel
wireless mobility and client access to the functions of the
DWS-3024/3026 wireless switches. Connected to these
switches, each DWL-3500AP continually tunes itself for
optimal RF channel and transmits power to provide all
mobile clients with the best wireless signals.
Up to 108Mbps Speed
With transmission speeds of up to 108Mbps (Turbo
mode) 1, the DWL-3500AP is an ideal solution for
bandwidth intensive WLAN application. In a typical
working environment with multiple users accessing the
network at the same time, the DWL-3500AP can operate
at double times the throughput of regular 802.11g wireless
LAN equipment.
Sensitive Information Not Stored Locally
Individual DWL-3500AP access points have no local
storing of any data so they can be safely installed in
unsecured areas without fear of hacking or theft. The
DWS-3024/3026 switch is the hardware that stores vital
network, and user information in plain site is typically
stored in a secure location. DWL-3500AP can link to the
DWS-3024/3026 directly or through the existing wired
network, and roam in high speed within a single DWS3024/3026 or even across Layer 3 boundaries between
several peer DWS-3024/3026 switches.
Self Configuration & Easy Installation
The DWS-3024/3026 switch automatically configures
every connected DWL-3500AP, so no configuration is
necessary during installation. If a DWL-3500AP needs to
be replaced, the replacement DWL-3500AP automatically
inherits the same configuration, making the replacement
process as simple as a child’s game.
PoE Facilitates Wireless Deployment
For maximum coverage, the DWL-3500AP can be placed
at out-of-the-way locations such as on a ceiling or a high
wall, where AC outlets are inaccessible and providing
power to these locations is difficult and expensive. The
DWL-3500AP can easily obtain power from a DWS3024/3026 switch located as far as 100 meters away
through the unused pairs of the existing network cable,
doing away with the need to install separate power
wiring. With industry-standard 802.3af PoE support,
this wireless access point does not even require a PoE
injector.
Continuous Channel Scanning To Detect Rogue AP
DWL-3500AP continuously scans the wireless frequency
band and its associated channels to detect rogues while
simultaneously providing wireless connectivity to mobile
clients. If a rogue is detected, it reports the result to the
DWS-3024/3026 wireless switch that manages it. From
a management console, administrators can identify the
rouge AP and take appropriate action.
Total Security & Quality of Service
The DWL-3500AP supports 64/128/152-bit WEP data
encryption, WPA/WPA2 security and multiple SSID per
RF frequency band. Connected to the DWS-3024/3026
switch, these function along with wireless user MAC
Address Filtering and SSID Broadcast Disable can
be used to set up security and limit outsiders’ access
to the internal network. The DWL-3500AP supports
802.1Q VLAN Tagging and WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia)
for important wireless transmissions such as VoIP and
streaming media applications, delivering critical userbased services, such as prioritized delivery of voice
traffic.

The DWL-8500AP Wireless Switching 108 AG Access
Point is a high-performance wireless access device
that provides up to 108Mbps transmission rates 1
and flexible dualband wireless connectivity. This AP
provides unparallel wireless mobility, dualband WLAN
connectivity and client access to the functions of the
DWS-3024/3026 wireless switches. Connected to these
switches, each DWL-8500AP continually tunes itself for
optimal RF channel and transmits power to provide all
mobile clients with the best wireless signal in both the
802.11a and 802.11g bands.
Flexible Dualband Wireless LAN Connectivity
The DWL-8500AP delivers concurrent wireless
performance with maximum wireless signal rates in
both frequency bands simultaneously. With dualband
connectivity, two wireless networks are created both
running at full bandwidth speeds, offering a significant
increase in total network capacity. At the same time, the
DWL-8500AP remains fully backward compatible with
the 802.11b standard in the 2.4GHz frequency.
Up to 108Mbps Speed
With transmission speeds of up to 108Mbps (Turbo mode)
on both frequency bands, 1 the DWL-8500AP is an ideal
solution for bandwidth intensive WLAN application. In a
typical working environment with multiple users accessing
the network at the same time, the DWL-8500AP can
operate at double times the throughput of regular 802.11g
wireless LAN equipment.
Sensitive Information Not Stored Locally
Individual DWL-8500AP access points have no local storing
of any data so they can be safely installed in unsecured
areas without fear of hacking or theft. The DWS-3024/3026
switch is the hardware that stores vital network and user
information in plain site is typically stored in a secure
location. DWL-8500AP can link to the DWS-3024/3026
directly or through the existing wired network, and roam in
high speed within a single DWS-3024/3026 or even across
Layer 3 boundaries between several peer DWS-3024/3026
switches.
Self Configuration and Easy Installation
The DWS-3024/3026 switch automatically configures every
connected DWL-8500AP, so no configuration is necessary
during installation. If a DWL-8500AP needs to be replaced,
the replacement DWL-8500AP automatically inherits the
same configuration, making the replacement process as
simple as a child’s game.
PoE Facilitates Wireless Deployment
For maximum coverage, the DWL-8500AP can be placed at
out-of-the-way locations such as on a ceiling or a high wall,
where AC outlets are inaccessible and providing power
to these locations is difficult and expensive. The DWL8500AP can easily obtain power from a DWS-3024/3026
switch located as far as 100 meters away through the
existing network cable, doing away with the need to install
separate power wiring. With industry-standard 802.3af
PoE support, this wireless access point does not even
require a PoE injector.
Continuous Channel Scanning To Detect Rogue AP
DWL-8500AP continuously scans both frequency bands
and their associated channels to detect rogues while
simultaneously providing wireless connectivity to mobile
clients. If a rogue is detected, it reports the result to the
DWS-3024/3026 wireless switch that manages it. From
a management console, administrators can identify the
rouge AP and take appropriate action.

The DWL-8500AP supports 64/128/152-bit WEP data
encryption, WPA/WPA2 security and multiple SSID per
RF frequency band. Connected to the DWS-3024/3026
switch, these function along with wireless user MAC
Address Filtering and SSID Broadcast Disable can be
used to set up security and limit outsiders’ access to
the internal network. The DWL-8500AP supports 802.1Q
VLAN Tagging and WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) for important
wireless transmissions such as VoIP and streaming media
applications, delivering critical user-based services, such
as prioritized delivery of voice traffic.
