CP-1 Central Processor
Every ccGEN2 system begins with the CP-1 Central Processor, the brains of the system. This powerful piece provides automation
of a wide array of electronic systems such as audio, video, lighting, HVAC, security, door locks and more. Choose music and
movies from various sources, turn lights on and off, change temperature, control shades and more. As an IP network-based
processor, this piece can sit in any room in the house or a central rack and provide ultra-fast control and response time with
100% accuracy. It lives on the home network so wiring, adding components and servicing are easier than ever and automation
possibilities are virtually limitless. This processor is flexible and can handle one room to many, and expand control capabilities
to the outdoors and off-premises.
Additional third-party subsystems can be added with ease. Being IP-based, it can handle most any technology or product that
comes down the pike. And, registered systems gain the huge added benefit of offsite programming capability. No matter where
you are, you can program and provide software service to clients over the Internet, saving money on truck rolls.
Key Features
• Stores and issues commands and macros via IR, IP, RS-232, and Relays
• Provides two-way communication with ccGEN2 remotes, apps and keypads
• Routes commands to auxiliary pieces (AC-1 Auxiliary Controller and WC-1 Wireless Controller)
• Programmable automation including user-scheduled events and actions triggered by sensors connected to onboard ports
• Off-site programming capable when system is registered
• The Central Processor is required in ccGEN2 systems; maximum one per system

AZ-1 RF Antenna
The AZ-1 extends the range of whole-house automation and works in conjunction
with the Central Processor, the heart of every ccGEN2 system. The AZ-1 is a handy
little 2.4 GHz RF Antenna that connects over the home network via Cat5 wiring to
the Central Processor for when an RM-1 RF Remote Control is used in the system.
This piece is required when the RM-1 remote is used. Whole-house automation
and control of A/V, lighting, security, shades, and door locks is then possible using
the RM-1 RF remote. The AZ-1 component is very small so it can be tucked away
virtually anywhere to ensure robust system communication.
Note: the AZ-1 RF Antenna is required when using the RM-1 RF Remote Control
and the MRX-4SEN Sensor Extender.
Key Features
• Enables URC 2.4 GHz products
(e.g., RM-1 Remote Control) to
communicate with a ccGEN2
system

WC-1 Wi-Fi Wireless Controller
The WC-1 is a Wi-Fi Wireless Controller and used as an alternative solution when Cat5 isn’t
available or it doesn’t make sense to add a larger ccGEN2 controller. A common application
for this tiny piece is in the bathroom where TVs are often suspended from the ceiling. Or, it
can be placed where a flat panel TV is installed over the fireplace. Over a network using WiFi or a wired Local Area Network (LAN) connection, this controller receives commands from
the Central Processor that’s required in a ccGEN2 system. It then relays these commands,
via IR, to other components in the system.
Key Features
• Converts IP commands from Central Processor to IR

Tips for ccGEN2 System Design and Installation
Your local Distributor and the URC field team are always glad to assist you with training and
specifying systems to ensure the best possible products and configurations are used. On this
page you will find a few good ccGEN2 system configuration and programming tips along
with things to remember during your system design and specification stage.
Don’t forget the AZ-1! The AZ-1 RF Antenna must be used whenever an RM-1 Remote or the MRX-4SEN
Sensor Extender is in the system. Both of these work on URC’s 2.4GHz communication protocol.
Inspect Device Drivers. It’s a great idea to always QC Device Drivers used in your project. These are the
keys to creating an intuitive, repeatable system for your customers – both today and in the future.
Never Ignore the Network. A quality network is essential for reliable operation of the ccGEN2 system as
virtually all communication depends on it. This will make both you and your customer happier, as it will
reduce system calls once ccGEN2 is installed.
Begin with the Basics! When programming the ccGEN2 system, we suggest creating a basic program
first. Leave out the personalization and customization for initial testing purposes. Then you can add
desired tweaks to make the system most intuitive for your customer.
Two-way is THE way. The RM-2 should be the first choice for a ccGEN2 handheld remote as it offers twoway metadata and real-time graphical feedback plus quick connect Wi-Fi. Your customers will love this
remote.
Plato said, “The measure of a man is what he does with power.” Hint, the SW-1 is used to power PoE devices
like ccGEN2 keypads, cameras and 3rd-party products. All 8 ports can be used for PoE simultaneously.
Wireless is wonderful. If a room
wasn’t wired with Ethernet, you can
still control devices inside it! Use the
ccGEN2 WC-1 Wireless Controller.
There is no such thing as a dumb
