 GS1 – QRCode: The GS1 wizard now supports QRCode.

 VB Scripts: VB Scripts can be defined at multiple levels (Document, Objects and

Data sources) and triggered for different events.

 Tagged Texts management: This feature allows you to format parts of text based on tags (such as bold, italic, underline). This can be used, for example, to

highlight allergens in compliance with new food labelling standards (European regulation 1169/2011).

 System Event Viewer: License events are logged in the System event viewer.

This allows tracking of important information about the License (i.e. License is about to expire, License is expired, License not found…)

 Label import from vector image: The label import capability based on vector format (ie DXF, WMF,….), allows the fixed part of the label to be created in a click

(text, image, lines, etc….) only the data source part remains to be created. This is useful when the design of template labels is initially created in a CAD software.

 Print dialog: It is now possible to keep the Print dialog box open after the print job to create subsequent print jobs without having to reopen it.

 New formulas: New formulas are available to calculate check digit for Voice code (CRC-16) and PZN.

 LABELMATRIX converter: A new converter allows converting labels coming from the LABEL MATRIX designer.

 Form Designer and Network License: Form Designer is now supported with

Network Licenses.

 Database Manager Improvements: Column widths are now persisted to avoid resizing. Added support for default field values when adding a record

 Evaluation mode removed: When no valid license is found the application can no longer be executed.

 Network Tolerance: In case of network disconnection, it is possible to define a tolerance period (max. 480 minutes). By default there is no tolerance (0 minute).

If the network is disconnected, the labeling software stops working. Note: The tolerance begins after about 6 minutes of connection to the server and the user token will be locked during the tolerance period.

 Additional Activation Options: Protection method updates have provided additional activation options. You can now activate LABELVIEW from a separate workstation using a USB drive, along with online activation, online by proxy, phone, and e-mail activation.  Layers Feature: The Layers feature has replaced run separators, offering more flexibility and an easy-to-use interface. Layers give you the option to add a unique header and footer to each batch of labels.

 New Wizards: Wizards are available to assist with creating new labels and adding barcodes, images, text, and variables.

 Form Designer: The Form Designer allows you to create a custom printing interface, which simplifies printing for print users and reduces user error by eliminating the need to search for labels. The Form Designer replaces Label

Select by offering a graphical approach to selecting the label and label data.

 Data Sources Categories: Data sources can now be organized in subcategories at a display level (Data Sources view).

Known Limitations

 Under win2008 R2,

Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, it is required that the

NET3.5.1 is selected via "Program and Files\Turn Windows Features On and

 In order to connect to Access or Excel files in version 2007 or later on a system where Microsoft Office 64-bit is installed you will need to install Microsoft's

AccessDatabaseEngine 32-bit. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255

 Under Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, if the dongle HASP is not recognized, install the driver manually from the DVD using the following command:

"<Drive>:\Software\Misc\Hasp_v6.51\Haspdinst.exe -i" (where <Drive> is to be replaced by the letter of the DVD drive).

 Software Key Protection does not support Proxy with authentication. A license that requires internet connection (Online/Platinum) will not be compatible in such case. A possible workaround is to use a Proxy management application.

 In case of Software Key Protection, IP Security Policy Management (IPsec) settings can create slow response time from Activation server if it is blocked.

 To use this product via RDP (remote application / remote desktop), a network license is required on environments such as Remote Desktop Services (formerly

Terminal Services), Citrix,..

 If you are using a hardware key protected version under Windows 7, the key may not be recognized. In this case, you must install the HASP driver manually. Run

 When upgrading LABELVIEW, we recommend uninstalling any previous versions before installing the new version.

 With subscription licensing, the computer date/time must be set to the correct date/time and should not be modified.

 Shared counters are not incremented in preview mode, only at print time.

 LABELVIEW Converter and LABELMATRIX Converter are not certified for BASIC range. It is recommended to use them with Pro and Gold range.

 RTF Field has a limitation when used with Fit to Frame option where the size and/or complexity of the RTF text in the input may cause the displayed text to be truncated.

 Text objects with composite data sources or different styles (font size or attributes) should be edited using the Text Properties only. If you use the Text wizard, the text object becomes fixed with a uniform style.

 When importing an image from a network, a path like

//MachineName//Path/Filename cannot be entered directly into the Image

For example, with an Access database, when you set 3 unique fields in Database Manager, only the first one will be set. The recommendation is to use the internal DBMS tools to modify database structure, especially when working on advanced actions (like multiple constraints and primary key modification). The same is true for big tables where the response time can be slow on some operations.

 A database connection must be linked to the DatabaseGrid control displayed in sample form DBForm.xmf in order to show information (i.e.; identity.mdb).

 ODBC driver is recommended for PostgreSQL. With OLEDB, driver fields may not be enumerated.

 The option 'Manage multiple pages' for ListField is not supported with POF technology and IDEAM.

 There are limitations identified in the Microsoft OLEDB Provider for VisualFoxPro, which is not recommended for usage with this product.

 This product is not certified with any extended hardware device (such as Multiport serial cards and expansion ports). Tests and validation have to be performed with each piece of hardware in case of usage.

 The SQL Query Builder does not support parameterized queries that have an object (table, view, etc.) defined with the same name as the database (for example, database_name=Product and table_name=Product).

 VB Scripts: VB Scripts can be defined at multiple levels (Document, Objects and

Data sources) and triggered for different events.

 Tagged Texts management: This feature allows you to format parts of text based on tags (such as bold, italic, underline). This can be used, for example, to highlight allergens in compliance with new food labelling standards (European regulation 1169/2011).

 System Event Viewer: License events are logged in the System event viewer.

This allows tracking of important information about the License (i.e. License is about to expire, License is expired, License not found…)

 Label import from vector image: The label import capability based on vector format (ie DXF, WMF,….), allows the fixed part of the label to be created in a click

(text, image, lines, etc….) only the data source part remains to be created. This is useful when the design of template labels is initially created in a CAD software.

 Print dialog: It is now possible to keep the Print dialog box open after the print job to create subsequent print jobs without having to reopen it.

 New formulas: New formulas are available to calculate check digit for Voice code (CRC-16) and PZN.

 LABELMATRIX converter: A new converter allows converting labels coming from the LABEL MATRIX designer.

 Form Designer and Network License: Form Designer is now supported with

Network Licenses.

 Database Manager Improvements: Column widths are now persisted to avoid resizing. Added support for default field values when adding a record

 Evaluation mode removed: When no valid license is found the application can no longer be executed.

 Network Tolerance: In case of network disconnection, it is possible to define a tolerance period (max. 480 minutes). By default there is no tolerance (0 minute).

If the network is disconnected, the labeling software stops working. Note: The tolerance begins after about 6 minutes of connection to the server and the user token will be locked during the tolerance period.

 New Wizards: Wizards are available to assist with creating new labels and adding barcodes, images, text, and variables.

 Form Designer: The Form Designer allows you to create a custom printing interface, which simplifies printing for print users and reduces user error by eliminating the need to search for labels. The Form Designer replaces Label

Select by offering a graphical approach to selecting the label and label data.

 Data Sources Categories: Data sources can now be organized in subcategories at a display level (Data Sources view).

Known Limitations

 Under win2008 R2,

Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, it is required that the

 In order to connect to Access or Excel files in version 2007 or later on a system where Microsoft Office 64-bit is installed you will need to install Microsoft's

 Under Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, if the dongle HASP is not recognized, install the driver manually from the DVD using the following command:

"<Drive>:\Software\Misc\Hasp_v6.51\Haspdinst.exe -i" (where <Drive> is to be replaced by the letter of the DVD drive).

 Software Key Protection does not support Proxy with authentication. A license that requires internet connection (Online/Platinum) will not be compatible in such case. A possible workaround is to use a Proxy management application.



In case of Software Key Protection, IP Security Policy Managemen t (IPsec) settings can create slow response time from Activation server if it is blocked.

 To use this product via RDP (remote application / remote desktop), a network license is required on environments such as Remote Desktop Services (formerly

Terminal Services), Citrix,..

 If you are using a hardware key protected version under Windows 7, the key may not be recognized. In this case, you must install the HASP driver manually. Run

 When upgrading LABELVIEW, we recommend uninstalling any previous versions before installing the new version.

 With subscription licensing, the computer date/time must be set to the correct date/time and should not be modified.

 Under virtualized environment, manipulation of Virtual Machine VM (i.e. copying or cloning a virtual machine, revert to a snapshot) need to be done with the software unactivated.

Returning to a snapshot/state created after the software was activated, may result in degraded license mode.

In such case it is required to deactivate/reactivate the License (Please note the limitation on the number of activations granted for the license of the software.)

 Shared counters are not incremented in preview mode, only at print time.

 LABELVIEW Converter and LABELMATRIX Converter are not certified for BASIC range. It is recommended to use them with Pro and Gold range.

 RTF Field has a limitation when used with Fit to Frame option where the size and/or complexity of the RTF text in the input may cause the displayed text to be truncated.

 Text objects with composite data sources or different styles (font size or attributes) should be edited using the Text Properties only. If you use the Text wizard, the text object becomes fixed with a uniform style.

 When importing an image from a network, a path like

//MachineName//Path/Filename cannot be entered directly into the Image

Selection dialog box. The workaround is to map the network drive, or to drag and drop from the explorer. reduced. Turn off this option for faster performance if needed.

 When running a hardware key license version of LABELVIEW while system is not fully initialized, LABELVIEW may run in evaluation mode. Make sure the system is fully loaded before running LABELVIEW.

 The Database Manager is a generic database tool that relies on OLE DB Provider

(ODBC is not supported). OLE DB Provider or the DBMS itself can both have some limitations. For example, with an Access database, when you set 3 unique fields in Database Manager, only the first one will be set. The recommendation is to use the internal DBMS tools to modify database structure, especially when working on advanced actions (like multiple constraints and primary key modification). The same is true for big tables where the response time can be slow on some operations.

 A database connection must be linked to the DatabaseGrid control displayed in sample form DBForm.xmf in order to show information (i.e.; identity.mdb).

 ODBC driver is recommended for PostgreSQL. With OLEDB, driver fields may not be enumerated.

 The option 'Manage multiple pages' for ListField is not supported with POF technology and IDEAM.

 The LABELVIEW installation may upgrade your system with 3rd-party components and files that are not yet Windows Server 2008 compliant because they may lack versioning information (like company name or version number) and/or they may lack a digital signature (please see the readme file for file names and locations).

 There are limitations identified in the Microsoft OLEDB Provider for VisualFoxPro, which is not recommended for usage with this product.

 This product is not certified with any extended hardware device (such as Multiport serial cards and expansion ports). Tests and validation have to be performed with each piece of hardware in case of usage.

 The SQL Query Builder does not support parameterized queries that have an object (table, view, etc.) defined with the same name as the database (for example, database_name=Product and table_name=Product).
