GETTING STARTED BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw. 3. Install 3 new “AA” size (UM3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.) 4. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended for an extended period of time. Always remove exhausted batteries from the equipment. Do not dispose of battery in fire. Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. An animation will appear on the light-up screen. 6. Press the alphabet buttons to learn about letters and letter sounds in the learning mode. In the discovery mode, the objects will be identified. Turn the unit OFF. 2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. 4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again. 5.
