OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This section explains how to power the charger, load a battery onto the charger, and charge it.

Adjusting Position of Contacts for Charging

• Before battery can be inserted into the charging bay and charged, the contact terminals of the charger must be properly adjusted accommodate your battery.

Adjust horizontal position for contacts by sliding the Left and Right

Contact Adjusters until they are properly aligned with your battery’s positive and negative terminals.

Depending on the location of your battery’s charging terminals you may need to adjust the vertical position of the charger contacts. You can do this by turning the adjusting dial until the proper height is achieved.

Note: The LI5000 has built in reverse polarity detection software.

This ensures full and safe charging for each and every charge.

Should you by chance insert the battery in reverse polarity (the positive contact is on the negative side of the battery, and vice versa), the unit will detect and automatically adjust itself to ensure a full and safe charge.

positioned vertically.

Charging of AA/AAA Rechargeable Batteries

You can also charge one or two AA/AAA size NiCd/NiMH rechargeable batteries.

Move the Left/Right Contact Adjusters and Adjusting Dial to the proper horizontal and vertical position.

One cell charging Two cell charging

• Pull back the sliding cover and insert one or two AA/AAA sized batteries into the Charging Bay where indicated on the charging bay floor.

• Adjust the Sliding Cover until batteries are fully inserted into the

Charging Bay.

Charging of a USB Device

• You can charge and power up USB devices through the 1 amp

USB output port. This works for devices such as MP3 players,

Connect the USB device to the USB output port on the charger.

USB port

Output: 5V/ 1A max.

USB Active display should appear when cable is connected to

USB output port.

Charging indicator on device will indicate charging status.

The LI5000 has the ability to charge a battery in the charging tray

(Li-ion, NiCd, NiMh) as well as simultaneously charging or powering up a USB device. The USB device will continue to be charged at a 1 amp output, however, the battery pack charging power will be reduced to a 450 mA charging current.

ATTENTION: DO NOT mix cell size or type in the charging bays. Cells inserted into the charging bays must be same size, capacity, and type (i.e. NiCd or NiMH). The charger may malfunction with mixed cell types or capacities in the charging bays, and may damage the cells permanently.

DO NOT CHARGE ALKALINE BATTERY CELLS IN THIS

CHARGER.
