INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS
Your Custom Speaker Kit is Plug & Play, as long as your original wiring has not been cut.
1. Put both front windows down before installing speakers. Remove the 4 door panel screws
identified by the white circles in picture #1.
2. Using a flat edge or trim stick removal tool, begin to pry the bottom half of the door panel
away from the door as shown in picture #1
3. Pull the bottom of the door panel out far enough to release the locating pin at the top of the
door panel as shown in picture #2. (DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL AT
THIS TIME, AS ADDITIONAL STEPS ARE NEEDED TO FREE DOOR PANEL)
4. Slowly lift door panel up to release top of the door panel from the door. This is an up and
out pulling motion. ( PANEL WILL STILL BE ATTACHED TO DOOR BY HARNESSES
AND LOCKING RODS)
5. While supporting door panel, unlock retaining clips from locking rods as shown in picture #3.
After releasing plastic tabs, the rods will slide out of the locking assembly as shown in
picture #4.

If your speaker plugs have already been cut off, use
the gray speaker leads supplied in the kit. The gray
wire with the black stripe is the negative and the
solid gray wire is the positive. The wire colors in
your door will be connected as listed below.

Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Brown/Red
(will connect to the gray wire with black stripe)
Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Purple
(will connect to the solid gray wire)
Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Dark Blue/Red
(will connect to the gray wire with black stripe)

6. Locate the two wiring harnesses with the blue connectors and unplug by pushing down on the
locking tab as shown in picture #5. Now the door panel can be removed and set aside.
7. Remove the two screws holding the speaker to the door as shown in picture #6
8. Using a small flat head screwdriver, release the speaker plug from the speaker as shown in
picture #7.
9. Cut the supplied speaker gasket in two halves as shown in picture #8. Peel the tape off the
gasket and attach the gasket to the bottom half of the speaker opening as shown in picture
#9. Installing the gasket will level the surface and insure that the speaker makes a good seal
with the door. Trim excess gasket if needed.
10. Plug in the new Kicker Speaker as shown in picture # 10.
11.Install new speaker to the door making sure to align the two elongated mounting slots as
shown in picture #11. Reinstall the screws. Make sure that the speaker and screws are
centered as shown in picture #12.
12. Tum on the radio and venfy that both speakers play before reassembling the doors.
13. If everything plays okay, reinstall the door panels.
