IMPORTANT
Installer and Users please note:
These instructions should be read carefully and left with the
user of the product for future reference.
INSTALLATION.
Install the EH1352 on floor approximately 20cm (8") from a
wall. Ensure that the air inlets (on the sides) and the air
outlets (on the top) cannot be covered.
Place the unit where the temperature will not fall before 1°C
(34°F).
Place the unit away from any source of heat.
The dehumidifier works best in an enclosed area: closing doors
and windows will improve the efficiency of the dehumidification
process.
Do not use outdoors.
Plug the mains lead into a 13 Amp mains socket.
If connecting via an extension lead, make sure that the lead is
rated at 6 Amps or more, and that it is fully unwound.
OPERATION
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance
• Switch the unit on at the mains socket.

• Press the POWER button to switch the unit on and off. The
power button illuminates green when the dehumidifier is switched
on.
• Use the MODE button to select the mode of operation. Low noise
mode is indicated by a 3-bladed fan, "turbo" mode is indicated by a
5-bladed fan, and "laundry" mode by a picture of a garment. In Low
Noise and Turbo modes the unit will reduce the humidity to the
level set by the "Humidity" control, whereas in Laundry mode it will
operate continuously.
• Press the HUMIDITY button to select the level of humidity
required (50% is probably the most comfortable setting). When the
humidity is reduced to the selected level, the dehumidification
process will stop (although the fan will continue to run). The twodigit display indicates the current level of humidity. If the humidity
level is already lower than the selected level, this unit cannot
increase the humidity.
•To operate the timer press the TIMER button. The two-digit
display will then show the time (in hours) for which the unit will run
before switching off. To increase the time, press the TIMER button
repeatedly until the display shows the length of time required. To
cancel the timer keep pressing the TIMER button until the display
shows zero. If the timer is off, the unit will run continuously,
• Always switch the unit off by pressing the POWER button. The
display will turn off, and the fan will run at high speed for two
minutes, then switch off. (This is to cool the heater and remove any
water from inside the unit). When the fan has stopped running the
unit may be unplugged from the mains. DO NOT unplug from the
mains before the fan stops, or switch off at the mains whilst the
unit is operating. This may reduce the life of the heating element
which is essential for the dehumidification process.
Maintenance
Disconnect the unit from the mains supply before carrying out any
maintenance.
Cleaning:
Clean the outer casing with a damp cloth with a little mild detergent

such as washing-up liquid. Do not use abrasives, or solvents other
than water.
Every few weeks, clean the water bucket with a little mild detergent
to prevent growth of mould, mildew and bacteria. Do not clean in a
dishwasher.
Removing the collected water:
The EH1352 removes water vapour from the air to lower the
humidity. The water that is removed is collected in a bucket inside
the unit. When the bucket is full, the unit will stop, and the "water
full" light will illuminate.
Slowly pull out the bucket - use the hand grip at the side of the
bucket and pull straight out to avoid spillage.
Dispose of the water down a drain, and replace the bucket. The
bucket must be in place and secured before the dehumidifier will
operate. It will start a few seconds after the bucket is correctly
inserted.
If the unit is to be used unattended for long periods of time, then it
would be an advantage not to have to empty the bucket
repeatedly. If so, it is possible to connect the unit permanently to a
drain.

Cut the plastic blanking plug located at the side of the machine,
and attach a 16mm internal diameter drain hose to the outlet, and
place the other end of the hose into a drain. It is essential that the
pipe slopes downwards continuously, and no part of the pipe is
higher than the outlet in the EH1352.
Cleaning the air filter:
The air filter should be checked at least once a month, and
cleaned if necessary.
Page 5

1. Remove the air filter by pulling it sidewards.
2. Wash the air filter by immersing it into hand-hot water with a
mild detergent (such as washing up liquid).
3. Rinse in warm water, and dry out of direct sunlight.
4. Slide the air filter back inside the unit.
Do not operate the dehumidifier without an air filter as accumulated
dirt and dust will reduce performance and may cause a fire hazard.
Storage
Before putting the unit into storage, allow the unit to stand for 24
hours so that all the water can drain into the bucket, then empty
the bucket. Clean the bucket with mild detergent. Store the unit
upright in a dry place.
Faultfinding.
• Unit fails to start:
Check the mains supply, check that the plug is pushed firmly into
the mains socket, and check the fuse in the mains plug.
• Unit operates noisily:
Check that the air filter is not clogged.
Check that the unit is placed on a LEVEL surface.
• Humidity is not removed from the air:
Allow time for the unit to remove the moisture.
Make sure that the humidity control is set to a low enough RH
value.
Make sure that the air intakes and exhausts are not blocked.
Make sure that doors and windows are closed.
Remove sources of water vapour such as gas heaters or fish
tanks.
The unit will not operate efficiently below 1°C.
If the room is larger than 17m2 a more powerful dehumidifier may
be required.

• Water on the floor
Unit is not on a level surface, and the bucket is overflowing.

sloping downwards.
