The EX250 Series Control Keyboard delivers total design
and operational flexibility, in either master or slave format.
Accommodating multiple users and installation expansion,
the master control keyboard may be augmented by multiple
slave keyboards.
Ensuring operators can fully utilise the powerful systems
control at their command, an 80 character blue backlit LCD
display is used to indicate system status. Easy navigation
through system operations is assured with full travel push
button control keys including Zoom, Focus, Iris, Wash, Wipe,
Aux, Tours, Presets, Sequence, Home and Lights. With
simple configuration, each EX250 control keyboard offers
comprehensive and intuitive control of all system functions

‘Audio-follow’ Matrices
For surveillance specifiers and
integrators that require CCTV audio
switching solutions, Synectics provides
the AF32x1 and AF96x32, ‘audiofollow’ matrices.
The 1U and 3U, 19” rack mount units

The Matrix Manager is one of a range of ancillary interfaces
for Synectics switching and control systems designed for
simple cost-effective switching & controlling ‘remote-site’
CCTV cameras. Each 1U rack mount Matrix Manager utilises
an RS422 data connection to enable a central matrix to
control camera functions and display images associated
with six remote matrices per device.
Creating an extremely robust and fault tolerant remote-matrix
solution, up to four Matrix Manager units may be stacked
together to control up to 30 ‘remote- site’ matrices.
In addition to minimising video transmission cabling
requirements, Synectics’ Matrix Manager can also reduce
overall system complexity, installation time and costs.

DCRXP Telemetry Receiver
The Synectics DCRXP telemetry receiver offers maximum operational control of
variable speed DC pan & tilt heads, lenses and fast pre-set positioning. The
DCRXP drives 9-12V zoom & focus camera lenses, 12-24V DC pan & tilt heads
and features a selectable, ‘super-fast’ pan mode. Synectics revolutionary patented
‘micro-stepping’ technology provides ultra-fine and smooth proportional camera
head control, especially useful at maximum zoom position. Moreover, this
technique gives system operators highly accurate control of pan & tilt head
positioning via a receiver/motor- drive head calibration feature.
The DCRXP also includes ‘self-diagnostic’ features to detect both camera
tampering and loss of mains input supply. Detection of either state initiates an
operator warning signalled by an audio-visual alarm at the system’s keyboard
controller. In the event of a mains power supply disruption, the standby operation
provision keeps the system running with battery back-up via the receiver 12V
input terminals. DCRXP WB’s standard specification gives CCTV specifiers a
choice of 99 camera pre-set capability, along with optional functionality including
award winning PRIVacy electronic scene masking. Attention to design detail
affords each receiver a variety of features geared to ease installation and set-up.
Removable Klippon connectors, clearly labelled wiring connections, an onboard
LED to indicate the reception of RS485 command data, and a diagnostic functions
‘test button’, all assist in reducing installation time and maintenance costs.

Electronic Scene Masking
Ideal for use in new or retro-fitted
installations, Synectics patented
PRIVacy electronically masks any
number of ‘sensitive’ areas within an
external P/T/Z camera’s field of view.
PRIVacy is an add-on printed circuit
board (PCB) for use with the Synectics’
DCRXP range of DC telemetry
receivers.
The sophisticated and powerful
PRIVacy masking device now features
a wider choice of high-resolution
privacy masking blocks, employing
accurate target-scene masking and
smooth target-scene tracking.
When applied to any area of a scene
under CCTV surveillance, an on-board
image processor generates a ‘3D
spatial mask’ which varies proportionately in size and position to track pan,
tilt, and zoom operations, restricting
operator viewing and preventing
pre-specified scenes from being
recorded (when used in- conjunction
with pan/tilt heads and lenses with
potentiometers).

infringements, assuring those under the
surveillance umbrella and those liable for

Synectics’ RS485 Dome Camera interfaces provide an
effective bridge to third party product integration. In addition
to camera control, additional feature options can be
accessed through the cameras’ on-screen set-up menus.
With re-mapped speed control and a comprehensive array
of surveillance facilities, including home parking and tour
patrols, Synectics RS485 dome camera interfaces offer
advanced system and operational flexibility, all via the

For flexible dome camera control, the NET-Dome/CO8 and
CO/NET1 combination permit transmission of 3rd party
manufacturers’ RS485 telemetry data signals as SYN-NET,
over a single coaxial cable. In conjunction with the single
channel CO/NET1 micro receiver, the original manufacturer’s
data communications are restored to supply RS485 dome
control. This system offers a flexible, single coaxial cable
solution; especially when a separate data cable does not
exist or is impractical.

The AL24 allows CCTV specifiers and installers to integrate
customised alarm handling routines to Synectics EX250
switching and control systems. Available in a 1U rack
mount unit, the AL24 connects up to 24 external alarm
inputs, or more by stacking multiple devices. Easy alarm
programming is made possible by the EX250 system
control keyboard and alarm inputs can trigger any single or
combination of camera pre-set positioning, matrix or
ancillary product switching routines.

The Synectics CDA 16 and CADA 16 central distribution
amplifiers, comprise 16 individual distribution amplifiers, one
in, four out, combined into a single 3U, 19” rack mount
assembly. Utilising Synectics advanced signal processing
technology, the CDA16 provides high performance
duplication and distribution of video and audio signals.
Employing ’tried & tested’ differential input processing
amplifiers, it automatically reduces problems such as “hum
and noise,” that often occur in installations where cables run
too close to power or data lines. Designed to simplify
connection and distribution of video signals, the CDA16
reduces installation time and costs, while improving signal
integrity compared to loop-through wiring. A durable and
dependable product, the CDA16 maintains consistently
excellent signal characteristics. Built in an industrial grade
metal case, the CDA16’ rack mount ears are both
detachable and reversible, so the unit can be mounted in the
front or back of an equipment rack, facing forward or back.
With PAL, NTSC, and analogue component RGB or YC, plus
an autosensing 80-240 VAC power supply, the CDA16 can
be used in a variety of applications worldwide.

The modular components of Synectics’ EX250 control
system allow for a multitude of design configurations
- giving the integrator maximum flexibility during installation.
Each Synectics’ component can be connected to the
Synectics “SYN-NET” network in daisy chain and/or star
wiring configuration.

SYN-NET – the fault tolerant, error correcting, bi-directional
RS485 Network - utilizes low-cost, screened, twisted pair
cables for data and telemetry transmission. Using half
duplex, with a turnaround time of less than 10ms, the
system works with microwave, telecoms, or optical fibre.
