Hurco's dual-screen control with WinMax
Hurco’s dual-screen control got its name by being the ultimate in power and the maximum
in simplicity. Its ergonomic design has easy-to-understand buttons. The slim, touch-screen,
colour monitors make every programming task almost effortless.
Its primary distinction is the exclusive dual-panel display. With the interactive touch-screen
graphics, simply select the portion of the part you want to edit (displayed on the right
screen) and on the left screen the corresponding portion of code appears automatically–
whether you’re using conversational or NC programming.
WinMax single screen control for machining centres
With the interactive graphics providing crystal clear cutter path and part geometry,
automatic scaling, and unlimited views of the part, including isometric, the single-screen
control programs just like the dual-screen control. The high-speed digital processing
ensures there’s plenty of power and memory for even the most complex functions.
Additional WinMax control software options, like DXF transfer and part probing, are
available to make the single-screen control console even more powerful.

The entire concept behind CNC controls is empowerment–

that from the beginning. That’s why there are so many
Hurco process automation packages available.
Import CAD data directly into the control with the DXF transfer
With Hurco’s unique DXF software option it is possible to import the CAD data into
the control. Then simply click on the contour to be machined, or select any hole
centres and the control will instantly create the toolpath. Minimises programming
time and removes input errors.
ISNC with Fanuc macro capability. A standard feature of the WinMax control
NC programming with ISO code compatibility is now a standard feature. Run and edit
Fanuc programs and macros with ease. Click on the interactive graphic and the DB
search facility will take you directly to that part of the program.
Conversational / NC Merge
When running a conversational programme, this option makes it possible to call an NC
routine at any time. It gives the flexibility to do all of your 2D work at the control, then
call a 3D file part way through, thereby reducing the CAD/CAM bottle-neck.
Ultipocket™ with Helical Ramp Entry
An unlimited number of boundaries and islands can be programmed and machined
automatically and gouge–free. Includes the ability to Helix into a selected position
within a pocket. This feature allows you to use the latest types of tooling and helps
to extend tool life.
Hurco Tooling and Vices
We are now able to offer a Hurco 8 or 10 piece, precision ground tooling pack.
This is in addition to a range of Gewefa tooling packs. Hurco vices provide versatile
material holding options for optimised job planning. We also now offer retention
studs, tooling trolleys, plus height and datum setting gauges to help provide you
with everything that you need to get your new machine up and running.
Pallet Changers
Manual and automatic pallet changers are available for the entire range of Hurco
Machining Centres.
Transfer huge files to your control in seconds with UltiNet
Hurco machines with Ultinet connect to an Ethernet network using standard internet
protocols. Also supports wireless connectivity and is available for both lathes and
mills.
Save time and improve accuracy with conversational probing
Using Renishaw’s tool and part probing hardware, we are able to check and correct
part set-up, tool length and diameter data within the programme operations.
We are also able to check for tool wear or breakage and use sister tooling as
required.
High Speed Machining Software now standard on all Hurco machining
centres
An improvement in machining time of 3D contours can be achieved over all
previous Hurco controls, plus the benefit of further improved surface finish.
The option to select surface quality works so well because it uses a 600-block lookahead, controlling feed rates and axis acceleration, to provide excellent surface
finishes on complicated part geometries. S-curve acceleration and motion control
algorithms compensate for machine dynamics, giving you smooth finishes every
time.
Swept Surface programming
This new and powerful option is an enhancement of our popular 3D Mould
software. In addition to the ability to create a surface by rotating or translating a
2D contour about any axis, we are now able to programme draft angles, link and
blend up to 10 profiles and use a variety of cutting strategies.
Rotary Options
Conversational 4th and 5th axis software is standard on all Hurco machines and
by far the easiest method of programming rotary work. Hurco offers a huge range
of budget and sophisticated 4 and 5 axis tables. We also have a good range of
lower-cost indexing options.
WinMax Offline Software
We are able to offer the Winmax programming software to run on your pc. It is an
exact duplication of the control software for both mills and lathes. It allows you to
programme jobs when away from the machine.

The challenge facing most
small volume and one-off
manufacturers is not the time
spent cutting, but the time spent
during set-up.
The ability to be able to machine
5 sides in a single set up can
reduce time on a machine by
as much as 75%. Take the
motor racing or aerospace
industries for example. The
design challenge is to remove as
much metal as possible whilst
maintaining strength. Often
cutting operations are required
from all sides. Sometimes, full
simultaneous 5 axis movements,
such as the machining of an
engine port, other times simple
operations such as drilled holes
or angled walls are required.
