Antumbra iColor Keypad is a compact stand-alone lighting controller for intelligent RGB and intelligent whitelight LED lighting fixtures from Philips Color Kinetics. This wall-mounted controller triggers up to six light
shows at the touch of a button. Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology eliminates the need for a separate
power source, affording greater freedom of placement, higher reliability, and easy installation.
The AntumbraButton and AntumbraTouch user interfaces consist of large buttons that can be customized
with text or icons and incorporate the latest in field effect technology. The contemporary design features a
number of button configurations, with each button capable of controlling lighting functions.
• Six onboard effects and up to six configurable
shows—Antumbra iColor Keypad uses onboard
lighting effects, eliminating the need for an
external data source. Use the Antumbra iColor
Keypad Effect Manager configuration software to
select from six effects and adjust effect settings
such as color, duration, and brightness as desired.
Store up to six sets of effects and settings as
shows. Recall shows at the touch of a button.
• Field effect technology—The user interface
detects an approaching user and “wakes up,”
initiating a wall-washing lighting effect on the
Antumbra panel to encourage interaction.
• Supplied as two components—The Application
Module contains buttons, rim, base, and
mounting plate, which are available in a variety
of colors and materials to suit décor. The iColor
Communication Module contains all of the logical
and network functions and is pre-programmed offsite, allowing commissioning to commence prior
to finish options being finalized.
• Multiple language and icon labeling options—
Fascia labeling language choices include English,
Chinese, and Arabic. A library of common icons
transcends language barriers, which is particularly
useful in hospitality applications.
• Fingertip dimming and on/off control—Easily
adjust brightness of connected lights or turn them
on and off.

The Power of Power over Ethernet
The IEEE 802.3af standard for Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables both electrical
power and data to be transmitted over a single twisted-pair cable. Antumbra iColor
Keypad is a PoE-compliant powered device that offers you convenience, increased
flexibility, and simplified and inexpensive installation.
A New Standard of Flexibility
You can provide power to Antumbra iColor Keypad in one of two ways: with a PoEcompliant Ethernet switch, or with a standard Ethernet switch and PoE injector.
Regardless of which method you use, you can position each Antumbra iColor Keypad
up to 100 m (328 ft) from the switch. Because power is delivered over the same wire
as the data, you do not need to use additional wiring or position the keypad near an
external power source.

If you’re using a PoE switch, you simply connect Antumbra iColor Keypad to an
available port on the switch using a standard Ethernet cable. If you’re using a non-PoE
switch, you must also attach a PoE injector to the Ethernet cable. You can position
the PoE injector near the switch to keep the power and data sources together in
the same location, and to give you maximum flexibility in positioning the keypad in a
convenient location.

2. Order the Application Module
The Application Module contains the buttons, rim, base, and mounting plate. The
two visible components of the module (buttons and rim) are available in a range of
different finishes. The base component contains all the sensors and indicators, which
are enclosed by a rubber envelope to give an IP20 rating. A metal mounting plate
supports the whole Antumbra structure so that it operates perfectly every time.
An online ordering tool is available, allowing configuration with different button and rim
finishes. The online configuration tool also allows for button labeling details. Once an
Application Module has been configured, a full preview is available and the part number
details provided for ordering purposes. To process an order for labeled Antumbra user
interfaces, you must submit the generated order form. The online ordering tool can be
found at http://www.aprapps.lighting.philips.com/antumbra/.

Installation
Antumbra iColor Keypad can be installed in any Ethernet lighting installation using
Data Enabler Pro devices or power/data supplies that support KiNET, the Ethernet
lighting protocol from Philips Color Kinetics. Each Antumbra iColor Keypad button
broadcasts a stored, configurable show to all LED lighting fixtures in your installation.
Antumbra iColor Keypad requires data and power over a single Ethernet connection.
A PoE-compliant Ethernet switch delivers both data and power over a Cat. 5e or
better data cable. Installations with non-PoE switches require a PoE-compliant power
source, such as the PoE Injector.

Owner/User Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the contractor, installer, purchaser, owner, and user to install,
maintain, and operate Antumbra iColor Keypad in such a manner as to comply with
all applicable codes, state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations. Consult with the
appropriate electrical inspector to ensure compliance.
Prepare the Installation
The positioning of Antumbra iColor Keypad is generally determined by the
installation configuration, especially the locations of fixtures and power sources.
Because Antumbra iColor Keypad does not need to be wired to a power source, it
can be installed in a convenient and unobtrusive location.
Create a layout plan that starts with the location of the Ethernet switch and, if
applicable, the PoE injector(s). Include all leader cables, shielded Cat. 5e or better
data cables, and fixtures. If using a PoE-compliant Ethernet switch, ensure that a
switch with an available port is installed in the lighting system. If using a non-PoE
Ethernet switch, plan to install the required PoE injector(s) near the switch.

• One Cat. 5e or better data cable (shielded twisted pair with an RJ45 connector, to
a maximum length of 100 m or 328 ft) to connect Antumbra iColor Keypad to an
available port on a PoE-compliant Ethernet switch or to a PoE injector.
• If using a PoE injector, an additional shielded Cat. 5e or better cable to connect
the injector to the Ethernet switch, and a power cord to connect the injector to
a power source. Refer to the PoE injector’s installation or user guide for complete
installation instructions.
• If installing Antumbra iColor Keypad in a junction box in North America, you
must use a UL-listed low-voltage junction box for Class II equipment. You can
also install the keypad in a multi-gang wall box, or you can flush-mount it using
the mounting holes at the top and bottom of the keypad, as allowed by applicable
electrical codes at your location.

Mount and Connect the Keypad
1. Secure the installation bracket to the mounting surface, in accordance with local
electrical codes, using the two longer screws provided with the
Application Module.

2. Mount the iColor Communication Module by snapping it into the back of the
Application Module. Use the locating pins to ensure the correct orientation of the
two modules.
3. Connect one end of a shielded Cat. 5e Ethernet network cable to the back of the
iColor Communication Module.

4. Secure the base of the panel to the mounting plate using the shorter screws
provided. Ensure that the base is correctly oriented before installing it to the
mounting plate by aligning the arrow in the UP position.

Make Cable Connections
Connect the other end of the Cat. 5e Ethernet network cable to the Power over
Ethernet source. Now that power reaches the switch, verify that the default light
show plays.
If using a non-PoE Ethernet switch, connect the Cat. 5e Ethernet or better data
cable to the output port on a PoE injector. The PoE injector must be connected
to the Ethernet switch and an AC outlet in accordance with the manufacturer’s
installation instructions.

Using Antumbra iColor Keypad
• Press and release a button to play the show assigned to that button. By default,
shows play from the beginning at 100% brightness.
• Press and release the active button to turn show lights off.
• Use the dimmer controls to adjust the brightness of the show lights. By default,
dimmer controls are used by pressing and holding the active button. If button
mode has been set to 6 Shows On/Off, dimming functionality is disabled on
the keypad.
