Upgrading to TIBCO Nimbus 9
If you are upgrading from a previous major version you must first migrate
your data to make it compatible with this version. Please refer to the TIBCO
Nimbus Administration Guide for instructions on upgrading an existing
installation and migrating your data.
After upgrading the Web Server it is advisable to stop the Web Server and
delete the existing Cache table (default directory is C:\Nimbus
Control\Cache). When the Web Server is restarted the new Cache table will
be created which has improved indexing.
Important: If you are installing on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server
2008 or Windows Vista, please refer to the TIBCO Nimbus Installation Planning
Guide for important information before installing TIBCO Nimbus 9.
If you have any questions regarding upgrading an existing installation please
contact TIBCO Nimbus Support:

view. This includes access rights on storyboard folders.

don't have access to in storyboards has been rewritten to make it more userfriendly.
The error message indicating a missing diagram has been reworked to make
it more user friendly.
User group permissions
User group permissions have been updated to allow turning off additional
reporting types for user groups. The user group permission 'Reports' is now
called 'Main Reports' and 'Reports in the Web' is now called 'Main Reports in

Document Reports, User and Group Reports - can be used to enable or
disable group access to the respective reports.
Change requests
Users without the 'Add Change Request' user setting enabled can now
progress change requests that are assigned to them. This is useful for content
owners that do not have this option.
Formvine Attachments
The 'Formvine Form' URL object attachment has been renamed to 'Formvine'.
Reviews
When a review outcome is selected that creates a change request, action,
notification, etc, a message appears to inform the user that the selection will
open up another window.

Rollovers on Home page favorites now open below the favorite icon.
Previously it opened above and this could lead to it not being fully displayed.
The warning message 'The link you are using is now deprecated' in the web
interface has been reworded.
The feedback form hint text in the two input fields has been rewored to make
it more intuitive to users.
When users click a document item on their Home page or in the Keywords
page it will download it. Previously it displayed the document's details.
The SharePoint user interface is hidden during storyboard playback when an
error occurs.
Feedback
Feedback now uses the UTC format for time formats.
Deprecated and Removed Features
This section describes deprecated features (if any), and lists features, if
relevant, that may be useful alternatives to the deprecated features. Any use
of a deprecated feature should be discontinued as it may be removed in a
future release. You should avoid becoming dependent on deprecated features
and become familiar with the suggested alternative features.
This section also lists features that are removed (if any).
Author Client
Tracking Log
This functionality tracked diagram access and diagram printing in the
Author Client only and was not used.
Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager and Performance Point
This functionality allowed users to retrieve metric data from Microsoft Office
Business Scorecard Manager and PerformancePoint. Neither of these
products are supported by Microsoft.
Novell File Server
This functionality allowed the integration with a Novell File Server to link to
whole process repositories.
Web Server
Export Action Registry to Excel
This functionality allowed users to export a list of actions from the Action
Registry to Excel format. This functionality was only present in the
SharePoint interface.
Migration and Compatibility
If you are upgrading from a previous major version you must first migrate
the data to make it compatible with this version. Please refer to the TIBCO
Nimbus Administration Guide for instructions on migrating your data.
If you have any questions regarding data migration please contact TIBCO
Nimbus Support:

Known Issues
This section lists known issues in this release.
Summary MHT-based scorecards do not open in Mozilla Firefox.
Workaround To allow users to view an MHT-based scorecard, users must install
the UnMHT addon in Firefox. This can be downloaded from:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unmht/
The UnMHT addon does not fully support MHT-based scorecards,
therefore users may notice some issues with formatting and some
embedded images may not be present.
Summary When exporting a scope of diagrams to XML using an existing CSF file
from a previous version, you may receive the error below. This is due to the new
folder virtualization that's been implemented in v9.
"Error: Specified map <map name> cannot be exported because it does not exist."
Workaround To rectify this you must edit your old CSF files. Instructions on how
to create and structure CSF files can be found in the TIBCO Nimbus Administration
Guide (under Administration/Importing and Exporting/Exporting Diagrams to
XML).
Summary Intermittent failure of web page requests due to exception class
'EScriptError' and error type 'is null or not an object'.
Workaround To fix this problem on Windows Server 2008 R2 you can install
Internet Explorer 9, then install the security update 'Cumulative Security Update
for Internet Explorer 9 in Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 (KB2618444)'.
