Equipment Requirements for Live Events
The equipment and service requirements outlined below are to help guide client
presenters and their support teams hosting a Streaming event. Technical requirements
for streaming participants are provided separately.

signal acquisition.

For videoconference signal acquisition: 384 kbps ISDN lines with video transmission service enabled.

External (LogiTech QuickCam recommended) or built-in webcam

- - Needs to have Firewire (IEEE 1394) output

Backup recording on videotape

VIDEO SIGNAL ACQUISITION –THREE POSSIBLE METHODS
For video webcam signal acquisition (lowest cost)
- - External (LogiTech QuickCam recommended) or built-in webcam
For videoconference signal acquisition (mid cost)
- - Polycom, Tandberg, Lifesize or similar quality ISDN videoconference appliance with InterCall video bridging
capacity and site certification.
- - At least 384 kbps ISDN lines with video transmission service enabled.
For video fiber signal acquisition (venue must offer this service –mid cost)
- - Video fiber head end at venue linked to Vyvx national network.
For satellite signal acquisition (highest cost –only choice at some facilities without ISDN or video fiber services).
- - Satellite truck service for uplink
- - Space segment purchase (time on satellite)
- - Downlink service
