Document Purpose
This document is designed to provide an explanation of the available configuration options for
your WebLink+ Product. It also explains how certain sets or groups of options often are used
together to accomplish commonly requested online “call center” tasks.
By reading through this document and selecting the configuration options your organization
wants for their website, and recording those options on the checklists provided from the LVM
Systems Web Team, you will be providing the necessary “blueprints” for the development of
your website.
Demo Site
You may also view and experiment with the different options in this document at the demo site

Website Design Process Overview
Starting the design process involves 3 basic steps:
1. Select your module:
2. Select your module options:
a. The Search Forms Options*
b. The Search Results Page Options*
c. The Search Item Profile Page Options*
d. The Configuration Options (what the end users can do)**
3. Select your Payment Processor (optional)
a. Select the Shopping Cart type*
* These are an “out of the box” starting point. Once these initial types are selected you can then
work with one of our web developers to customize almost anything within the pages.
It is also very important to realize the following when viewing the examples in this document:




The styling, fonts and colors are generic and do not represent the final look of the forms
(which can be modified to match your existing website)
All pages are based on the “Responsive” web design architecture. That means that the
pages are designed to “self-adjust” to the size and display area of the device that it is
being viewed on (that is it will resize to fit on a PC, Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone, etc.)
There are further configuration options involving the “back-end” features & functions of
the modules that are not included in this section.
Each example bellow will have specific information following it as necessary.
.
** Each module has many pre-configured options that can be turned on/off and many variable
settings involving limits. These are discussed in detail in the next section.

Survey Configuration Options
It is important to note that Survey settings will affect BOTH the Surveys Module and if you use
the Classes Module with optional Surveys at Checkout they will share the same selected
options unless otherwise indicated.
Default Mode – shows Surveys in a single question at-a-time mode with a continue button at
the end of each question. This is the default “out of the box” configuration.
Show All – displays all survey questions in one long continuous form rather than 1 at-a-time
(see screenshot below).

Use Demographics – allows the client to display a Demographics form prior to the survey if
they want patient info gathered with the survey (works on Survey Module only, not checkout
surveys). Note that fields may be added or removed based on the demographic information you
wish to capture.
Steps Mode – displays survey questions 1 at a time in a step-by-step screen display mode with
a progress indicator at the top of the screen.

Allow Back to Change Answers – in the Steps Mode, if the user can go back to
change answers then this makes the “Previous” button appear, otherwise it is hidden
and the survey only moves forward only with no changes allowed to prior answers.
Question Styles
Fonts, button colors, background colors and a few other styling changes can be made to dress
up your surveys.
Questions styles can also be modified based on survey question type, for example:






D – Date
M – Multiple 1 Character Responses (NOT Multiple Choice)
N – Numeric Value
NR – No Response Required (IMPORTANT: will not work unless the “Show All Questions”
option is used)
Q – Question (Multiple Choice)
YN – Yes/No Question
Below is Multiple 1 Character Response question using the “Radio Button” style:

setup:
Clients Using Older Versions of WebLink
Background
In older versions of WebLink, the software was very forgiving on presenting surveys to
online users. By default, if a survey question was not set up with required field
information in Centaurus then the WebLink product would display the question and
provide a plain text field for the user to enter any type of value.
Changes
The new WebLink+ product utilizes the rules built into Centaurus surveys, such as
branching, required fields, date answers in date format (not text) and so on.
This allows the WebLink+ products web surveys to follow the same rules as the new
Centaurus product.
Minimum Survey Criteria
To that end, the Survey records must meet the following minimum 3 criteria to function
as expected:
1. The “Question Type” is required and matters as to the data type picked – for
example, if you want to have the web user enter a date that is treated like a date
in Centaurus then it must be a question type of “D” for date.
2. The “Response Length” must be accurate for the data type.
3. The “Response Values” (as found on tabs 2-4) must be filled in for any multivalue and/or branching criteria to work. For example, a Yes/No, Y/N or MultiValue question must have the possible responses on the response tabs.

Question Types:
The Question Type field displays what kind of question it is.
There are 7 options provided that work on the WebLink+ product:







C – Comment (Free text answer)
D – Date
M – Multiple 1 Character Responses (NOT Multiple Choice)
N – Numeric Value
NR – No Response Required (IMPORTANT: will not work unless the “Show All
Questions” option is used)
Q – Question (Multiple Choice)
YN – Yes/No Question
Note: The software recognizes only these 7 choices (you should not add any others to the
table).
Not all old surveys will break, however it is suggested that the LVM client review all surveys that
may be used on the web for proper functioning.
Required Questions
Required survey questions must have the “Required Survey Question” checkbox
checked. (Note: If it is, the user will not be able to finish checkout unless they answer
the required question(s)).
