Connections in the PCB edge connector can be removed to make strobe and/or 0-10V work independently between each module or group of modules. The

PCB edge connector is assembled in sections, simply pull connector apart at appropriate location and remove contact(s) not needed, and snap back together.

When using this configuration additional screw connectors will be necessary for strobe and/or 0-10VDC inputs, depending on configuration.

For separate strobe inputs remove center contact (pin 4). For separate 0-10VDC inputs remove contacts on each side of center conductor

(pins 3 and 5).

It will only be necessary to wire additional strobes and/or 0-10VDC inputs as

+24 power is carried by pins 1, 2, 6 and 7 to all modules (up to 50 at 24Vin).

Assembly and mounting:

Assemble the Tripods in the shape desired by placing PCB edge connector

(one side is keyed, install this side first) between modules and repeat until light is shaped as desired. Next, install mounting and joining brackets with M3x5mm screws. Caution: do not use longer screws, damage to connector or housing may result.

Mounting Hole accepts

M5 or 10-32 screw

M3x5mm screws Joining Bracket Mounting Bracket

It is recommended to go no more than four joining brackets in a row before using a mounting bracket. For example, connecting seven modules in a line would have a mounting bracket on 1

, 5 th

and 6 th st

and 2 nd

modules, 4 joining brackets from the 2 nd

, 3

modules and another mounting bracket on the 6 th

and 7 th

modules. rd

,

Dimensions for mounting:

The Tripo d module outside dimensions are 3.515” (89.3mm) x 2.41”

(61.2mm) x 1.87” (47.5mm) tall.

The dimension for the mounting brackets can be calculated by multiplying

1.834” (46.58mm) from center of round end of each bracket times the number of modules between them. For example, three modules in a row with brackets on each end would be 1.834” x 3 = 5.502” (139.74mm). The mounting hole will be

1.126” (28.6mm) from center of round end.

Section 3 - Configuration

The Tripod can be configured for burst mode or disabled via dip switch. Two switches can be changed to control the behavior of burst and LED intensity dimming.

Switch 1 sets the adjustment range of the potentiometer and 0-10VDC input.

Switch 2 enables/disables the burst feature.

These switches can be set using a small jeweler’s screwdrivers or toothpick.

Modules are shipped with a default of both switches “on” (both down).

Switch Settings Result

Switch 1 and 2 off

(both up)

0-10VDC input (or potentiometer has 5 turns of adjustment) adjusts LED intensity from 100 - 0% with burst disabled

Switch 1 on

(down)

Switch 2 off

(up)

0-4.5VDC input (or potentiometer has ~2.5 turns of adjustment) adjusts LED intensity from 100 -

0% with burst disabled

Switch 1 off

(up)

Switch 2 on

(down)

Switch 1 and 2 on

(both down)

Default setting

0-10VDC input (or potentiometer has 5 turns of adjustment) adjusts LED burst intensity from 100 -

50% with burst enabled

0-10VDC input (or potentiometer has 5 turns of adjustment) adjusts LED burst intensity from 100 -

0% with burst enabled

The potentiometer for LED intensity control is a 5-turn potentiometer for precision adjustment. There are no stops at the ends of adjustment protecting the potentiometer from damage. Fully counter clockwise (CCW) sets the LED current to 0% and fully clockwise (CW) sets the LED current to 100%.

Modules are shipped in the fully CW position.

INDICATOR LEDs:

Red = Strobe

– This lights when a strobe input is present

Yellow = Error

– This will illuminate with LED fault (open/shorted). This also illuminates when strobe is off, this verifies error circuit is functioning.

Green = Power

– Power is connected

≥10ms PRF / ≤100Hz minimum off time of 1ms

This is to guarantee following burst pulse the same as previous.

Burst Duration: 500µs typical

Burst Current: 1.3A typical (variable with trim pot and/or 0-10VDC input)

Burst disabled:
