Connecting your laptop to the 28” monitor (If you do not have a laptop, check one out at the circulation desk!) 1. Make sure your laptop is turned off. 2. Connect the video cable to your laptop. 3. Turn on your laptop. 4. If you need audio for your presentation, connect the audio cable to your laptop’s "audio out" (head phone jack) port. 5. Sync the monitor and laptop by holding down the FUNCTION key Function (Fn) Key pressing one of the following keys to toggle: Laptop to Monitor Function Keys and (Note: Only press the keys once and wait for 10 seconds before pressing the keys again. Depending on your computer, you may not be able to display on two different monitors or display completely on the second screen. Try pressing the function key and toggle key again. This will turn off your laptop display and only project on the monitor. The toggle has three settings, display only on the laptop, display on both the laptop and extra monitor, and only display on the extra monitor.) 7. When finished, power down your laptop and disconnect the monitor cables. If you used the third setting, display only on the extra monitor, just use the functions keys again and your image will now be back on the laptop screen.
