Misuse of the SSD voids all warranty. Follow these instructions when managing the SSD. Follow all ESD precautions Always operate the SSD within environmental conditions Never switch DC power to the drive by plugging an electrically live source cable into the drive’s power connector Ensure correct cable polarity whenever connecting the drive to the cable WARNING: If the warranty void label is broken, the warranty voids immediately 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. Locate the panel on the laptop that covers the drive bay. Refer to your notebook user’s manual. Remove screws holding drive bay cover and remove. There may be a retaining bracket holding the drive. Unscrew and remove. Gently remove the existing drive from the drive bay. If a proprietary connector or spacer is connected to the drive remove and set aside. Remove the SSD from its packaging. Attach connector or spacer from step 9. Align the SATA connector or proprietary connector with the connector in the drive bay. Gently slide the SSD into the drive bay connector until seated. Reattach any retaining brackets and the drive bay cover. Reinstall the battery. Reattach the Power cables. Power-on notebook. Install your operating system on your new drive. Contact Information Preparation CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS If this is an upgrade from an existing drive it may be convenient to copy the entire drive to the SSD prior to installation. Place the SSD in a USB drive enclosure then copy the entire drive to the SSD. This may eliminate the need to re-install the operating system and programs.
