1.1 AL240 Low Power Adaptive Comb Filter Video Decoder
Functional Description:
The AL240 is silicon efficient, cost effective high video
quality NTSC/PAL SECAM video decoder with high quality
Y/C separation process. The AL240 decodes
NTSC/PAL/SECAM composite video or S-video and convert
it into YCbCr 4:2:2, 8-bit digital video output. Employing
adaptive filter technology, the AL240 is able to provide a
clear Y/C separated signals while maintaining excellent
frequency response. The result is sharp, high detail video
that eliminates unwanted dot crawl and false color effects.
Fully programmable video characteristic controls, such as
hue, contrast, brightness, saturation, are supported. The
AL240 decoder incorporates an advanced vertical blanking
interval (VBI) data processor to do data slicing, parsing
and decoding teletext, closed caption, and other formats.
Two wires of hardware channel switching inputs allow
decoder to do an instant alternation of analog CVBS inputs
from one to the other. Up to 4 serial bus addresses can be
selected via two configuration pins that allow multiple
AL240 chips on the design without extra logic.

Functional Description:
AL310 is a highly integration LCD Controller which
supports Triple-port input with multiple
graphics/video formats capable and mixing
captured frames output with scaling, overlaying
and alpha blending effects etc. It can be used for
most video conversion and processing applications.
AL310 is equipped with a high quality scaling
engine that automatically maintains full screen

Functional Description
The AL330B is a highly integrated Display SOC,
containing a 3-Ch + 10-bit ADC, 2D Video Decoder,
Deinterlacer, Scaler, Microcontroller, OSD, and TCON.
The AL330B can support small to medium Digital TFTLCD Panels and small to medium AMOLED Display
Devices.
The AL330B is a multi-channel analog preprocessing
circuit, which includes source selection; anti-aliasing
filter; ADC, ACC (Auto-Clamp Control) and AGC (AutoGain Control); CGC (Clock Generation Circuit); digital

Functional Description:

The AL422 is a video frame memory used to buffer audio/video/graphic data for digital
processing, timing correction, or format conversion. It is manufactured with state-of-theart embedded DRAM technology for applications in TVs, VCRs, scan converters, and
digital video systems.
The AL422 consists of 3Mbits of DRAM, and is configured as 393,216 words x 8 bit FIFO
(first in first out). The high speed and low power consumption are achieved by using 0.35
micron process technology with embedded EDO dynamic memory. The interface is very
user-friendly since all complicated DRAM operations are already managed by the internal
DRAM controller.
The AL422 can accept either 3.3V or 5V power with slightly different external
configuration. The internal voltage regulator can convert 5V power to 3.3V for the
embedded DRAM and logic circuitry when 5V power is applied to VDD pin (#10) only and
leave the DEC pin (#19) decoupled by a capacitor of 2.2uF to ground. The regulator can
also be bypassed when 3.3V power is applied to both VDD and DEC pins. In either case
the AL422 is 5V or 3.3V I/O tolerant. The 3.3V configuration consumes less power and is
free from noise interference from the voltage regulator so may be more ideal for highspeed applications.
Please note that using the AL422B with 5V configuration can directly replace the previous
AL422V5; using it with 3.3V configuration can directly replace the previous AL422V3. No
additional modification is required.

The AL440B is a high-performance FIFO (FirstIn-First-Out) field memory chip designed to
buffer audio/video/graphic digital data for a
wide range of applications.

The AL440B FIFO memory provides completely independent 8bit input and output ports
that can operate at a maximum speed of 80 MHz. The built-in address and pointer
control circuits provide a straightforward bus interface to serially read/write memory that
can reduce inter-chip design efforts. Manufactured using a state-of-the-art embedded
high density memory cell array, the AL440B uses high performance process technologies
with extended controller functions (write mask, read skip, window mode read/write ..
etc.), allowing easy operation of non-linearity and regional read/write FIFO for PIP,
Digital TV, security system and video camera applications.
Additional manipulation is produced by the Input/Output Enable control signals. The
application can use input enable to control whether new data is going to be written over
the old data or not. For read data, the output enable signal can control whether data is
going to be skipped during the read operation.
The Input/Output Ready flags report the FIFO status. The flags can be used to indicate
Fullness/Emptiness of the FIFO capacity. Expanding AL440B data bus width is also
possible by using multiple AL440B chips in parallel.
To have better control flexibility in the inter-chip design, the polarities of the AL440B
control signals are selectable. The read and write ports control signals, such as
Read/Write Enable, Input/Output Enable.., can be either active low or high by pulling
/PLRTY signal to high or low respectively.
Window data read/write is supported in the AL440B to benefit the designing effort for
applications such as PIP display. The window mode is enabled by driving low on /SDAEN
signal. A serial bus can program built-in registers to set up coordinates of the window
and the settings take effect following by next read/write reset pulse. Window mirroring
can cooperate with the window mode data access to flip window data in x or y direction.
When window-mirroring function is turned on, write data can be stored in reverse
sequence.
Available as a 44-pin TSOP (II), the small footprint allows product designers to keep real
estate to a minimum.

Functional Description:

The AL460A consists of 128Mbit of memory
• Single 2.5V power supply
density, and is configured as 8,192K x 16 bits
• Standard TQFP-128 package
FIFO (First-In-First-Out), the optimized access
scheme offers maximum R/W operating speed
up to 150 MHz (75 MHz). The FIFO provides simple and easy-to-use user interfaces
facilitating usage in a wide range of applications, such as Multimedia systems, video
capture systems, and various video data buffering applications.
The extensive memory size and high data-access-speed allow video frame capturing up
to Full HD (1080p) resolution. Complementing the Double Buffer mode, 2 banks serve as
upper and lower banks (with 4,096k x 16-bit of each bank), AL460A can be further
manipulated into more sophisticated applications. The R/W operations of corresponding
banks are acknowledged while high/low signals present at the bank control pins.
All AL460A FIFO specifics, like completely independent input and output controls, builtin
address and pointer control circuits, bank switching and other management tasks provide
data integrity during access and straightforward bus interface for a sequential data
read/write that reduce inter-chip design efforts.
The Double-Buffer mode allocates video data capture without reading a mixed old and
new data frames. The polarity control seamlessly matches the controller waveform
without additional glue-logic.
The AL460A is also implemented with high performance process technologies with
extended controller functions (write mask, read skip .. etc.); allowing easy operation of
FIFO read/write for use in broadcasting systems, security systems, cameras, and many
other applications.
Designed and manufactured using state-of-the-art technologies, AL460A achieved high
performance and low power consumption AC characteristics (2.5V power supply), for the
most sophisticated applications.
The chip is available as a TQFP-128 package. The small footprint keeps real estate of any
designs to a minimum.
