MARKING A STUDENT AS AN ONLINE TESTER FOR
THE CMT/CAPT SCIENCE
This brochure provides instructions for how to mark a student as an online tester for the CMT/CAPT Science. Some students may be
eligible to receive certain accommodations, such as text-to-speech, which require an online test administration. Eligible students must
be marked in TIDE for an online test to be available. Consult the CSDE Assessment Guidelines for information on accessibility
and accommodations.
Log in to TIDE
1. Navigate to the Connecticut
Comprehensive Assessment portal
(http://CT.portal.airast.org),
2. Click on the TIDE card.
The Log In
page appears.
and select the CMT/CAPT Science
program card.
3. Enter your email address and
password, and then click
Secure Login. The home
page appears.

Marking a Student for Online CMT/CAPT Science
1. Select the Student Information card.
2. In the View/Edit Students tab, select the appropriate School from the
drop-down menus. Additional search criteria may be entered to narrow the results.
Click Search.
4. Locate the Test Mode settings box. Select [Online] from the drop-down menu.
Note: All students will have a default setting of Paper Test Mode. This setting
should only be edited for sudents requiring an Online Test Mode.
3. A list of students will generate from your search. Select View next to the student you
wish to mark for the online science test. The student’s information page will appear.
Note: Students are automatically sorted in numerical order by SSID.
5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
The student is now marked for an online assessment of CMT or CAPT Science.
Note: Users should allow at least 24 hours for the system to update prior to
the start of testing.
