Overview
Thank you for purchasing this Guitar Cable for iPad and Smartphones!
This cable allows you to play your guitar or bass through your amp as normal, while
using your iPad or compatible Smartphone as an effects processor. This allows you to
produce a plethora different sounds, without the need to purchase different pedals or
expensive effects processors.
What You Will Need
For proper operation of this cable, you will need to provide the following additional
items:

A guitar or bass with a 1/4" TS output jack
A guitar amplifier
A 1/4" TS guitar cable
A compatible tablet or smartphone
A third party guitar effects app
How to Use It
For operations with standard guitar amps, connect this cable to your equipment in the
following manner:
1. Connect the 1/4" TS male plug into the 1/4" TS input on your amplifier.
2. Connect the 3.5mm (1/8") TRRS male plug into the audio jack on your tablet or
smartphone.
3. Plug one end of a 1/4" TS guitar cable into the 1/4" TS female jack on the
601035 cable. Plug the other end into the 1/4" TS output on your guitar.
4. Run your application on your tablet or smartphone and configure it up to produce
the desired effect.
5. Turn on your amp and play!
Note that some software apps automatically blank the monitor output when receiving
an input. Depending on the specific app, this behavior can be changed in the app's
preferences or settings.
Another Way to Use It
If you have an amplifier equipped with both Send and Return jacks for use with external
effects processors, you can connect this cable to your equipment in the following
manner:
1. Connect the 1/4" TS male plug into the Return jack on your amplifier.
2. Connect the 3.5mm (1/8") TRRS male plug into the audio jack on your tablet or
smartphone.
3. Plug one end of a 1/4" TS guitar cable into the Send jack on the amplifier and the
other end into the 1/4" TS female connector on the 601035 cable.
4. Plug one end of a 1/4" TS guitar cable into the 1/4" TS input on your amp and the
other end into your guitar or bass.
5. Run your application on your tablet or smartphone and configure it up to produce
the desired effect.
6. Turn on your amp and play!

The 4-conductor TRRS plug on this cable uses the CTIA standard configuration,
which puts the microphone signal on the sleeve (versus being on the second ring
in the OMTP standard). The CTIA standard has always been used by Apple® and
HTC™, while older Samsung®, Nokia®, Sony® Ericsson™, and Wiko devices
initially used the OMTP standard. However, the latest versions use the CTIA
standard.
