270 Transient Suppression Module
Description
The Model 270 Transient Suppression Module provides surge suppression from the
Ethernet network for the protection of DMP Panels. The 270 Transient Suppression
Module may be installed with XR150/XR350/XR550 Series or XR150INT/XR550INT
Series international control panels.
Installation
The 270 Transient Suppression Module is designed to easily mount inside the panel
enclosure using the standard 3-hole mounting configuration.

Transient Suppression Module
1. Mount the plastic standoffs to the enclosure using the three included Phillips head screws.
2. Insert the screws from the outside of the enclosure through the holes and into the plastic standoff that mounts
on the inside of the enclosure.
3. After tightening and securing the standoffs onto the enclosure, snap the 270 onto the standoffs.
4. Install the included DMP 357-2 cable between the 270 Ethernet connector (J1) and the panel Ethernet
connector (J1).
5. Using either side of the two-position terminal strip on the 270, connect an 18 gauge or larger ground wire to
terminal 4 on the panel.
6. Connect the Local Area Network (LAN) to the 270 Switch/Router connector (J2).
Ground Yourself Before Handling the Panel! Touch any grounded metal, such as the enclosure, before
touching the panel to discharge static.
Remove All Power From the Panel! Remove all AC and Battery power from the panel before installing or
connecting any modules, cards, or wires to the panel.
Note: For UL listed installations, the Model 270 must be used if the network switch is not installed in the same room
as the panel.
