surgiCam ®
Communication and information nowadays often play a vital role in many surgical,
endoscopic and other imaging interventions and procedures. The digital documentation of images or surgical procedures and live operations are becoming
increasingly important.
surgiCam® from KLS Martin puts you in the midst of the action. Live in the OR.
In conjunction with the marLED® operating light generation, the digital camera
system offers you everything you need for visualization and image transmission
of entire surgical procedures.
The choice is yours.
surgiCam® can either be integrated into the center of a marLED® light head or
installed on a separate suspension arm. Depending on the intervention, this will
give you an excellent view of the surgical site.
surgiCam® comes in a modular and highly flexible design. This lets you easily
tailor this versatile system to your specific needs. All variants feature a CCD chip
camera with 312x zoom (26x optical) capable of capturing even the smallest
image details. Motorized image erection – a function that ensures laterally correct
image display on the screen – is also an available option. Time-consuming
camera or light adjustments by the surgical staff are now definitely a thing
of the past.

These days the operating surgeon needs not even be present in the operating
theater to give the correct instructions. But wherever he is - he needs a clear
view of the procedure. With a focus on the surgical site. The KLS Martin digital
camera system was developed specifically for live teleconsultation via camera.
It provides demonstration material for training purposes and provides comprehensive patient documentation.

surgiCam® HD Camera
Eagle eyes in the OR
High-quality daylight alone is not enough for surgical site illumination.
HD camera technology offers you more detail and thus a precise image
of even the most intricate tissue structures.
HD camera technology enables visualization of tissue changes and provides the surgeon
with valuable diagnostic support. In telemedical data transmission for large-format display,
for example, as required for lecture halls, HD image sequences provide considerably
sharper details than conventional SD image formats.
marLED® lights can be equipped with the high-resolution surgiCam® HD camera system.
You have the choice between a solution with its own suspension arm or integrated within
the sterilizable handle of the operating light.
With surgiCam® HD, you get professional image quality in the “Full HD 1080i” format
boasting 2 million pixels.

Maximum Flexibility
The suspension systems
KLS Martin offers flexible suspension arm
systems for TFT monitors in conjunction
with operating lights or ceiling mounts.
The system features a large range of action,
spring-balanced height adjustment and
operation via an exchangeable sterile handle.
To eliminate the inconvenience caused
by arm rotation stops, the signal lines are
routed through slip rings wherever possible.

Signal Processing
Components for video conversion
The modular design of the ScaleOR offers the user
the flexibility of selecting the appropriate input modules
according to his requirements. This includes the option
of incorporating analog or digital signal conversions.
Following conversion, several HD video output formats
are available simultaneously.
The scaled output format can be selected via a dip
switch setting or via an on-screen display menu.
Users can access extended functions such as RGB
gain, brightness, contrast, color shade, saturation,
zoom, etc. via the on-screen display menu.
Components for video conversion
and streaming via IP networks
The Conduct OR used combines a video converter with a
module for video streaming via IP networks. This provides
the option of linking various areas with video signals.
The modular design of the unit allows flexible configuration
of inputs and outputs. Using the matrix switching function
gives the option of routing via random output channels.
The incorporated touch screen offers simple control and
operation, also as a stand alone unit.

marTouch ®
The universal control unit, optionally available as a desk version for equipment
trolleys, wall-mounted version, or mounted on a DVE or standard rail via a
VESA interface.
All functions of the camera and the lights can be controlled with the marTouch®,
regardless of light series or camera version.
A light touch operates the functions on the integrated touch screen.
The following scenarios can be implemented with the marTouch®:

The marTouch® is used to operate the lights.
■
The marTouch® is used to operate the lights and the camera. The monitor is switched
directly to the video signal output of the camera. Only possible when using a monitor.
■
The marTouch® is used to operate the lights and the camera. The camera signal is
converted to the desired format using the NDS Scale OR. This allows the connection
of two terminals, for example, monitors or recording units.
■
The marTouch® is used to operate the lights and the camera. The camera signal is
streamed into the LAN or Internet using the NDS Conduct OR. This allows the connection
of a large number of terminals, for example, monitors or recording units.
For example, the images can be transmitted to lecture rooms for training purposes
or to expert groups in other cities or countries.

The Economy version allows you to control the zoom
and image erection functions directly from the operating light’s control panel or from the wall control
panel. No other control units required.
Via a TFT monitor, the surgical procedure is visualized
for the entire team and the video signal is available for
recording or processing.
Besides controlling the light, the control panel and
wall control panel facilitate zooming and laterally
correct display of the image on the monitor.
