How to run a game of basketball on the Stremmel scoreboard.
Pre game:
Switch on the console by pressing and holding the on / off button until the battery charge display comes on.
Selecting basketball
• Press and hold 27 (program button) until select sports displays.
• Follow instructions on screen using the small numbers below each button as required.
Programming a game of basketball
• Press 27 (program button)
• Programme duration of time prior to start (target time of 20 minutes visual countdown where possible). Use
the 0-9 buttons to enter the number (time) required followed by button 23 to enter.
• Program duration of play periods (regular game 10). Use the 0-9 buttons to enter the number (time) required
followed by button 23 to enter.
• Select number of periods to be played, regular game 4 periods – follow instructions on screen as required.
• Program duration of time outs (regular game 1 min). Use the 0-9 buttons to enter the number (time)
required followed by button 23 to enter.
• Program duration of prolongations (regular game 5 min). Use the 0-9 buttons to enter the number (time)
required followed by button 23 to enter.
End of each period
• The buzzer should sound automatically at the end of each period.
• The visual clock on the console will then begin counting up. This can be used to time the interval of play if no
other clock is available.
• To reset back to the start of a new period, press 18 (timer) to stop the clock.
• Press 28 (period prolong) to reset the clock back to 10 minutes, clear the team fouls and move the period on
one.
Starting / stopping the game clock
• Use button 18 (timer) to start and stop the clock.
Adding points to the home team (left side of the console as you look at it with a house at the top)
• Press button 10 to add 1 point, button 12 to add 2 points and button 14 to add 3 points to the home team.
Adding points to the guest team (right side of the console as you look at it with a bus at the top)
• Press button 26 to add 1 point, button 24 to add 2 points and button 22 to add 3 points to the visiting team.
Points added on wrong team

Press and hold down button 16 (C), then press the corresponding button (10, 12, 14, 22, 24 or 26) to remove
the score as required.
Adding player fouls
• Press button 11 (home fouls) to add a team foul to the home team, button 25 (guest fouls) to add a team foul
to the guest team.
Player foul placed on wrong player
• Press and hold down button 16 (C), then press button 11 (home fouls) to remove a foul from the home team,
button 25 (guest fouls) to remove a foul from the guest team.
Running a Charged Time-out
• Press button 17 (time out) followed by button 10 (home 1 point) for a timeout taken by the home team,
button 26 (guest 1 point) for a timeout taken by the guest team.
• NB the board should sound with 10 seconds remaining and on completion.
• Should the teams wish to come back in before the 1 minute is completed press button 17 (time out) again.
End of game
To reset the whole scoreboard the same settings are previously used, press both button 15 (reset) and 16 (correct)
together.
Stremmel 24 Second Shot Clock
Pre-game
Switch on the console by pressing and holding the green (start / stop) button until the battery display appears on the
screen.
During the game
Start and stopping the shot clock
• Use the green button to start and stop the count (the red button is obsolete really)
Quick reset of the 24 to 24 to begin an immediate countdown (e.g. interception)
• Press the blue button (recharge)
Reset the 24 to 24
• At the point of the reset press the yellow button (stop recharging exiting) this will stop the clock and blank it
• Immediately after pressing the yellow button, press the blue one (recharge) to set the clock back to 24 whilst
still blanked
• At the point of the new control and the start of a new 24 press the green button (start stop)
Reset of the 24 to 14
• Double press the blue button (NB the clock will only reset to 14 by this action if the value at which it was
previously stopped was 13 or less)
Restarting the shot clock
• Use the green button to restart the shot clock.
Reset of the shot clock in error (whilst game is stopped)
• Alert the floor officials of the small delay to allow the correction.
• Press the blue button twice, the clock should reset back to the last time it was stopped if 14 or more. If the
clock needs to be reset below 14, then this will need to be run down and play held until it reaches the time
required.
Reset with less than 24 seconds left on the game clock
• The short clock should not be visible if there are more second displayed on it than on the game clock.
Timekeeper should alert 24 second operator when there are less than 24 seconds left in the period. At the
next 24 second reset, press the yellow button (stop exiting) followed by the blue button (reset to 24 whilst
blanked) in readiness for the next period of play.
