Connection and Installation
2.4.1. Connection and Installation
(See the figure on page 1)
 Port 1 connects with DC 30V adaptor with Ph standard interface mode. The adaptor
provided by VLMteck Inc is recommended;
 Port 2 and Port 3 connect with the electromagnetic valve;
 Port 4 and Port 5 connect with AC 24V from the inside of the dental unit;
 Port 6 and Port 7 connect with the gas control switch;
 Port 8 to Port 15 are free;
 Port 16 to Port 18 connect with the potentiometer;
 Port 19 and Port 20 connect with the handpiece.
2.4.2 Notice
 The gas control switch, the pneumatic water valve and the foot switch are equipped by the
dental unit manufacturer. The holes for installing the potentiometer and the cable are
drilled by the dental unit manufacturer, the device supplier or the user.
 Keep enough space to disperse the heat of the ultrasonic generator.
 Before turning the device on, turn the potentiometer knob to the minimum and the water
control knob to the maximum.
 The frequency of the ultrasonic scaler is extremely high. Under a normal working state of
the scaling tips, a light touch and a certain to-and-fro motion will eliminate the tarter without
an obvious heat. Don’t keep the device activated for a long time.
3. Function and Operation
3.1 Working Principles
3.1.1 Instruction
The Built-in Ultrasonic Scaler consists mainly of a control circuit, a handpiece and scaling tips. Its
power and water are controlled by the foot switch and the handpiece holder of the dental unit.
The Built-in Scaler has 3 working modes: Scaling (G), Perio (P) and Endo (E). When the light turns red, it's G
and P mode. When it turns green, it's E mode.

3.2 Parts Instructions
3.2.1 Usage Instruction of the Wrench
When installing a scaling tip, insert the scaling tip into the hole of the wrench, hold the handpiece
and turn the wrench clockwise until the tip stops. The scaling tips must be tightened up to get the
best using effects.
When uninstalling a scaling tip, insert the scaling tip, hold the handpiece and turn the wrench anticlockwise.

4. Maintenance and Disinfection:
4.1 Sterilization of the Scaling Tips:
The scaling tips can be cleaned by the ultrasound cleaner and sterilized by an alcohol cotton or a
disinfected cloth. They can be also sterilized under high temperature and pressure.
4.2 Sterilization of the Wrench
The wrench can be cleaned by the ultrasound cleaner and sterilized by a neutral non-corrosive
disinfectant. It can be also sterilized under high temperature and high pressure.
4.3. Sterilization of the handpiece
4.3.1 Sterilization of the sealed handpiece (i01):
The sealed handpiece can be sterilized by wiping with some disinfectant such as iodine, alcohol and
glutaraldehyde. When sterilizing, please notice whether the surface of the handpiece is damaged. Do not
smear any protective oil on its surface.
Do not soak the handpiece in any disinfectant.
4.3.2 Sterilization of the detachable handpiece (i02)
 Autoclaved under high temperature and pressure:
121°C, 1 bar (0.1 Mpa), 20 minutes:
135°C, 2.2 bar (0.22 Mpa), 15 minutes.
 Pull out the handpiece and uninstall the scaling tips after each use,
 Pack the handpiece in sterile gauze or a sterile bag before sterilization.
 Reuse the handpiece after it cools down naturally to avoid burning hands.

Notice:
a) Before the sterilization, empty the cleaning liquid in the handpiece with a compressed air.
b) Be sure that the scaling tip has been uninstalled from the handpiece. It cannot be sterilized along
with the other spare parts.
5
c) There are two waterproof 0-rings at the end of the handpiece. Please lubricate them with dental
lube frequently, as sterilization and repeated pulling and inserting will reduce their life-span.
Change a new one once it is damaged or worn excessively.
d) Sterilizable parts can be sterilized at least 250 times.
e) The following sterilizing methods are prohibited:
 Putting the handpiece into any liquid for boiling;
 Soaking the handpiece in any disinfectant.
 Putting the handpiece into an oven or a microwave oven for baking.
