Usability of Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550
This White paper demonstrates how settings of the Windows® 7 operating system
can be adjusted to optimize performance, responsiveness and usability of
Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550.
Performance and Responsiveness
2 Usability
Windows® 7 Theme
The standard Windows® 7 theme is making use of Aero
functions to achieve an aesthetically pleasing user interface.
This includes translucency, animations and eye candy but also
requires additional performance on top of the standard usage of
the STYLISTIC Q550. Disabling these features results in
increasing performance and responsiveness.

Some settings of Windows Explorer can be adjusted to facilitate
working in touch mode. This includes the View settings to show
files and folders in medium icons instead of a small list view.
With the Folder settings you can adjust items to be opened with

SuperFetch is a technology that pre-loads frequently used
applications into the memory to reduce their load times.
SuperFetch also keeps track of when those applications are
mainly used, which allows intelligently pre-loading information
that is expected to be used in the near future. Although this
technology increases the system performance in the long term,
it takes performance in the short term to monitor system and
usage. To enhance the first user experience, you can disable the
SuperFetch and enable it again later.
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Select “SuperFetch” and right-click on it, select ”properties”
In the General tab, change the Startup type to “Manual”.
Manual Calibration of touch input
In some cases it may happen that the touch input is inaccurate.
The Touch calibration performs calibrates the touch input
system to its optimal state. It is recommended to perform the
manual calibration once after a new OS installation.
Control Panel -> N-Trig DuoSense™ Digitizer Settings
In the “Touch tuning section, press the Start button and lift your
