• Basis

• counter-ring

• each 2 M3 srews, 16, 20 and 25 mm

• 1 hexagon wrench 2,0 mm

Tip:

Leave the package-protection (red thread and moss-rubber) installed till point 7 for easier and safer handling.

Mounting holes: Drill the baseplate after enclosed drawing dualpivot

mounting data.

The distance centre tone-arm - centre record spindle is 222 mm.

3 Basis: Attach basis and counter-ring using the 2 M3 screws with the required length (16, 20 or 25 mm) on the baseplate. The screws should be fixed loose, because basis and counter-ring must be in exact alignment. According to the thickness of the baseplate, longer screws must eventually be used.

Tone-arm mounting : First pull the audio leads through the hole and then insert the tone-arm into it, until the pillar is approximately justified with the baseplate or the counter-ring.

Secure the dualpivot with the M4 - setscrew in the basis with the 2 mm hexagon wrench provisionally. Now the 2 M3 - screws at the counter-ring can be tightened.

For using different cartridge suppliers, dualpivot will be delivered with 2 headshells (2 and 7,6 gr.),

2 antiskating weights (3 and 4 gr.) and 3 counter balance weights (22, 23 and 70 gr.).

Using the HOLBORNE cartridge MC-1, all 3 counter balance weights are needed. We recommend to use the 7,6 gr. headshell.

Vertical tracking force = 2gr.

Mounting cartridge: First attach the cartridge at the headshell with the 2 screws (supplied with cartridge). Connect the audio leads (in accordance of system suppliers coding) at the cartridge. Now you can fix the headshell with the M3 screw at the tone arm provisionally. The horizontal tracking angle of the dualpivot is already predetermined. Exact longitudinal position will be adjusted later with the tonearm pattern dualpivot .

The azimuth position can be adjusted by turning the headshell. Hold the tonearm firmly at the carbon tube and turn the headshell carefully.

To deactivate antiskating: Remove the package

protection (red thread and moss-rubber). Deactivate the antiskating.

Let it deactivated until point 12!

Mounting balance weight: Put the balance

weight A to a position for the approximative balance, then...

... fix it with the M4 setscrew. Now the whole counter balance weight can be turned to the exact balance of cartridge and counterweight. Now you turn the counterbalance approx. one rotation clockwise. You need the resulting slight tracking force for the adjustement from the tone- arm.

Tone- arm adjustment: Now the dualpivot has to be adjusted to the correct hight. Place a record on the turntable. Hold the tone-arm at the pillar or the lift-plate, loosen the M3 setscrew at the basis and move the dualpivot in vertical direction, until the carbon tube is brought into parallel line with the turntable, when the cartrigde stylus lies on the record.

Attention: During adjustment, the stylus must not lie on the record.

For this raise the stylus with the lift

control lever F from the record.

Consider, that the tone-arm and the edge on the right side of the base-plate are parallel.

Vertical tracking force: for correct adjustment use the tonearm balance. Put the cartridge carefully on the required mark engraved on the top of the balance lever (1 to 3 gr.) and turn the counter balance weight till the balance lever is horizontal aligned to the balance base.

Cartridge adjustment: With the tonearm pattern dualpivot the stylus can be set to exact longitudinal position. Loosen the M3 screw at the headshell and move it until cartrigde stylus lies in the cross centre indicated on the pattern. Tighten the srew carefully.

Antiskating adjustment: Activate the antiskating putting the carbon stick B on the offset

weight C. Increasing or reducing antiskating force will be effected by turning the weight D.

Corresponding to the vertical tracking force as recommended by the cartridge supplier, use either the 3 gr. or 4 gr. or even both antiskating weights.

The dualpivot is ready now. Connect the tone- arm with the leads to the phono stage of your amp.

To lower the stylus, first position it to the record starting groove by using the lever G. Then move the lift control lever F forward for smooth descent. To raise the stylus move the lift control lever back and turn the dualpivot back to the provided arm rest E.

Maintanance: the dualpivot is absolutely maintanance free
