1.0 INTRODUCTION

This document is intended to supplement the Strand Lighting “Installation Manual

SN110 Nodes”, Document No: 40B/1022.

2.0 SN110 NODE LCD INDICATORS

Heartbeat 1:

(Left-hand heart) symbol indicates node is 'alive'.

Heartbeat 2:

(Right-hand heart) symbol indicates node has seen at least one other node online in the last minute.

DMX512 Indicator:

(right arrow) symbol indicates that a Port is putting

DMX512 onto the network.

DMX512 Indicator:

(left arrow) symbol indicates that a Port has taken

DMX512 off of the network.

3.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – INITIALIZATION SCREEN

Figure 2 - Strand SN110 Initialization Screen.

The initialization LCD screen text will appear at half-intensity during the SN110’s initialization process. The LCD back light will not illuminate. “Strand Lighting” will appear on the top line of the LCD. The current software version (V2.6.11 in this example) will appear on the second line of the display.

Please note that this screen utilizes the majority of the 43-second total initialization/boot time.

4.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – BOOT SCREEN

Figure 3 - Strand SN110 Boot Screen.

After the node initializes the boot screen will then appear. The LCD backlight turns on fully, and “Strand Lighting” will appear on the top line of the LCD. The current software version (V2.6.11 in this example) will appear on the second line of the display.

The Ethernet MAC address of the node (00:E0:01:00:1F:73 in this example) will appear on the fourth line of the display.

5.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – STARTUP SCREEN

Figure 4 - Strand SN110 Startup Screen.

After the node boots the startup screen will then appear. The Node Name

(RELAYCR4 in this example) will appear on the top line of the LCD. The IP address of the node will appear on the second line. The third line will show both the Port 1 and Port 2 label. And the fourth line will show the Port 1 and Port 2 settings.

In this example, the monitor configuration has been set to “0” for Port 1 and to

DMX512 output 1 for Port 2. Port 1 is currently outputting DMX512 on one of its

512 outputs, so it’s DMX Out indicator is unmarked. Port 2 is not outputting

DMX512 on dimmer 1, so it has a line through its DMX Out.

6.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – DMX512 INDICATORS

Figure 5 - Strand SN110 DMX512 Indicators.

After a few more seconds of being on-line the heartbeat and DMX512 indicators symbols will appear.

Note that the two flashing heartbeats are present in this photo, indicating that not only is this node healthy (1 st

Heartbeat), but it can see another Strand node on the network (2 nd

Heartbeat). Also note the two arrows pointing to the left of the

LCD screen, indicating that DMX512 is being read off of the network and output on both ports.

In this example, the monitor configuration has been set to “0” for Port 1 and to

DMX512 output “1” for Port 2. Port 1 is currently outputting DMX512 on one of its 512 outputs, so its DMX Out indicator is unmarked. Port 2 is outputting

DMX512 on dimmer 1, so it has a level line underneath its DMX Out.

7.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – NO DMX512 ON PORT 1

Figure 6 - Strand SN110 DMX512 Indicators.

In this example note the single arrow pointing to the left of the LCD screen, indicating that DMX512 is being read off of the network and being output on

DMXPort2 on the node.

In this example, the monitor configuration has been set to “0” for Port 1 and to

DMX512 output “1” for Port 2. to “” for Port 2. Port 1 is currently not outputting

DMX512 on one of its 512 outputs, so it has a line through its DMX OUT. Port 2 is outputting DMX512 on dimmer 1, so it has a level line underneath its DMX Out.

8.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – DMX512 INPUT ON PORT 1

Figure 7 - Strand SN110 DMX512 Input.

In this example DMXPort1 has been reconfigured as a DMX In port. Please note the arrow pointing to the right of the LCD screen, indicating that DMX512 is being input unto the network from Port 1.

In this example, the monitor configuration has been set to “0” for Port 1 and Port

2. Port 1 is currently inputting DMX512 on one of its 512 inputs, so its DMX In indicator is unmarked. Port 2 is outputting DMX512 on one of its 512 outputs so its DMX Out indicator is unmarked.

9.0 SN110 SCREEN PHOTO – SCREEN LAYOUT

Figure 8 - Strand SN110 Screen Layout.

Node Name: A unique identifier user-defined character string of up to eight characters. This can be any name used to identify the node on the network.

IP Address: A unique IP Address four numbers separated by periods. Each number can be 0 to 255, as shown in this IP Address (192.168.0.39). The first three sets of numbers identify the network and the last set of numbers identifies the node.

Port 1 or Port 2 Label: This user-defined field contains a character string of up to eight characters used to identify the function of the DMX Port.

Port 1 or Port 2 Function: The two DMX ports on the SN110 Node can be configured as DMX Out, DMX In, Reporter or Off.

Heartbeat 1:

Blinking heart shaped symbol indicates node is 'alive'.

Heartbeat 2:

Blinking heart shaped symbol indicates node has seen at least one other node online in the last minute.

DMX512 Indicator 1:

Blinking right arrow symbol indicates that Port 1 is putting DMX512 onto the network.

DMX512 Indicator 2:

Blinking left arrow symbol indicates that Port 2 has taken DMX512 off of the network.
