The Wool Markets.
The local Wool market continues qniet, yet there
is a fair demand for choice grades for shipment.
Common grades are exceedingly dnIL
Inreference to the Boston market Hecht Bros. &
Co. write as follows:While the demand for domestic
crades of Wool lias been quite good frommanufacturers, the sales of the week are
small. This isdoe
partly to the stormy weather, which has prevented,
in some measure, shipments being made, but is
mainly oifing to the tact that the prices on the most
desirable grades are too high to suit the tastes of the
buyers. They have refrained from Uking hold to
any exUnt in consequence and the sales as a rule are
wholly to tillimmediate wants. The fact is manufacturers have sufficient stocks ca hand to meet
their wants forsome weeks to come, and the present
month is, therefore," likely to be a comparatively
quiet one. Itusually Is so, but in September a more
active trad»xts expected.' Inprices there has been
no material change made. The easier feeling that is
talked about w owing to the fact that dealers who
have been asking extreme prices havo come down is
their ideas and are now ready to sell at reasonable
