ABOUT YOUR NEW MOBILE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND THIS MANUAL……
• The Pioneer Mobile Navigation System is intended solely as an aid to you in the operation of your vehicle. It is not a substitute for your attentiveness, judgement and care while driving.
• Do not use your navigation system to route you to emergency services such as hospitals or police stations. Not all emergency service facilities are contained in the map data.
• Do not operate the mobile navigation system if doing so will divert your attention from the safe operation of your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules and follow all existing traffic regulations.
• Use our navigation system in the area only where PIONEER permitted.
• This manual explains how to install this mobile navigation unit in your vehicle.
Operation of this mobile navigation system is explained in the separate Owner’s
Manual that also came with this system.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING YOUR MOBILE
NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND RETAIN THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
1. Read this manual fully and carefully before installing your mobile navigation system.
2. Keep this manual handy for future reference.
3. Pay close attention to all warnings in this manual and follow the instructions carefully.
4. This navigation system is intended solely as an aid to you in the operation of your vehicle. It is not a substitute for your attentiveness, judgement and care while driving. Do not operate your navigation system if doing so will divert your attention from the safe operation of your vehicle. Always observe safe driving rules and follow all existing traffic regulations.
5. This navigation system may in certain circumstances display erroneous information regarding the position of your vehicle, the distance of objects shown on the screen, and compass directions. In addition, the system has certain limitations, including the inability to identify one-way streets, temporary traffic restrictions and potentially unsafe driving areas. Please exercise your own judgement in light of actual driving conditions.
6. As with any accessory in your vehicle’s interior, the navigation system should not divert your attention from the safe operation of your vehicle. If you experience difficulty in operating the system or reading the display, please make adjustments while safely parked.
7. Do not attempt to install or service your mobile navigation unit by yourself.
Installation or servicing of the Mobile Navigation Unit by persons without training and experience in electronic equipment and automotive accessories may be dangerous and could expose you to the risk of electric shock or other hazards.
8. Please remember to wear your seat belt at all times while operating your vehicle.
If you are ever in an accident, your injuries can be considerably more severe if your seat belt is not properly fastened.

Connecting the System
CAUTION
• Pioneer does not recommend that you install or service your navigation unit yourself. Installing or servicing of the product may expose you to risk of electric shock or other hazards. Refer all installation and servicing of your navigation unit to authorised Pioneer service personnel.
• Secure all wiring with cable clamps or electrical tape. Do not allow any bare wiring to remain exposed.
• Do not drill a hole into the engine compartment to connect the orange lead of the unit to the vehicle battery. Engine vibration may eventually cause the insulation to fail at the point where the wire passes from the passenger compartment into the engine compartment. Take extra care in securing the wire at this point.
• It is extremely dangerous to allow the GPS antenna lead or microphone lead to become wound around the steering column or gearstick. Be sure to install the unit in such a way that it will not obstruct driving.
• Make sure that wires will not interfere with moving parts of the vehicle, such as the gearstick, hand brake or seat sliding mechanism.
• Do not route wires where they will be exposed to high temperatures. If the insulation heats up, wires may become damaged, resulting in a short circuit or malfunction.
• Do not cut the GPS antenna lead to shorten it or use an extension to make it longer. Altering the antenna cable could result in a short circuit or malfunction.
• Do not shorten any leads. If you do, the protection circuit may fail to work properly.
• Never feed power to other electronic products by cutting the insulation of the power supply lead of the navigation unit and tapping into the lead. The current capacity of the lead will be exceeded, causing overheating.
Before installing the unit
• This unit is designed for vehicles with a 12-volt battery and negative grounding. Before installing the system (especially in a recreational vehicle, lorry, or bus), check the battery voltage.
• Disconnect the negative (–) terminal of the battery to avoid the risk of a short circuit.
To prevent damage
• When disconnecting a connector, pull the connector itself. Do not pull the lead, as you may pull it out of the connector.

To vehicle (metal) body. To keep electromagnetic noise from the vehicle body out of the mobile navigation system, attach this lead near the main unit.
Note: When replacing the fuse, be sure to use only a fuse of the rating prescribed on the fuse holder.
Note: The orange, red, and yellow leads should be connected to the opposite side of the fusebox terminals from the battery.

Pass the extension cord and the lead for the speed detection circuit through this hole.
Clamp firmly with needle-nosed pliers.

Note: The position of the speed detection circuit depends on the vehicle model. For details, consult the relevant documents from Pioneer.
When making connections for a model not listed in those documents or for which connection to the speed detection circuit is too difficult, connect the separately sold ND-PG1 speed pulse generator to the pink lead.
Note: The position of the parking brake switch depends on the vehicle model. For details, consult the vehicle owner's manual or dealer.

CAR SPEED SIGNAL INPUT
The mobile navigation system is connected here to detect the distance the vehicle travels. Always connect the vehicle's speed detection circuit or the ND-PG1 speed pulse generator, sold separately. Failure to make this connection will increase errors in the location display.
PARKING BRAKE
Used to detect the ON/OFF status of the parking brake.
This lead must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake swich. If this connection is made incorrectly or omitted, certain functions of your navigation system will be unusable.

GUIDE ON
When combining this mobile navigation unit with a Pioneer vehicle stereo, if the vehicle stereo has yellow/black leads (MUTE), connect them to those leads. This way when the guidance audio is output and when you operate the system by voice, the vehicle stereo is automatically muted to reduce the vehicle stereo volume.
Note: On some model's reverse the + and leads for the backup lamp are reversed. Connect the purple lead to the lead whose voltage changes when the reverse gear is engaged.
REVERSEGEAR SIGNAL INPUT
This is connected so that the mobile navigation system can detect whether the vehicle is moving forwards or backwards. Always connect to the reversing lamp primary lead.

Installation
CAUTION
• Pioneer does not recommend that you install or service your navigation unit yourself. Installing or servicing the product may expose you to risk of electric shock or other hazards. Refer all installation and servicing of your navigation unit to authorised Pioneer service personnel.
• Never install the unit in places where:
* It could injure the driver or passengers if the vehicle stops suddenly.
* It may interfere with the driver’s operation of the vehicle, such as on the floor in front of the driver’s seat.
• Make sure there is nothing behind the dashboard or panelling when drilling holes in them. Be careful not to damage fuel lines, brake lines or power cables.
• When using screws, do not allow them to come into contact with any electrical lead. Vibration may damage wires, leading to a short circuit or other damage to the vehicle.
• To ensure proper installation, use the supplied parts in the manner specified.
If any parts other than the supplied ones are used, they may damage internal parts of the unit or they may work loose and the unit may become detached.
CAUTION
• It is extremely dangerous to allow the GPS antenna lead or microphone lead to become wound around the steering column or gearstick. Be sure to install the unit in such a way that it will not obstruct driving.
• Make sure that leads cannot get caught in a door or the sliding mechanism of a seat, resulting in a short circuit.
• Please confirm the proper function of your vehicle’s other equipment following installation of the navigation unit.
To guard against electromagnetic interference
• To keep electromagnetic noise out of the mobile navigation system, do not install the main unit or GPS antenna near the vehicle stereo FM/MW/LW antenna or the
FM/MW/LW antenna cord. Such electromagnetic noise would increase the error for the location display.
Before installing and fixing
• Make temporary connections first to check that the unit and system are working properly.
Before using the adhesive tape
• Make sure the surface is free of moisture, dust, grime, oil, etc. before affixing the tape.

Installing the main unit
Installation notes
• Do not install the main unit in places where it may become subject to high temperatures or humidity, such as:
* Places close to a heater outlet.
* Places exposed to direct sunlight, such as on top of the dashboard or the rear shelf.
• Places that may be splashed by rain, for example close to the door.
• The installation strength will depend on the vehicle model and the installation position.
Choose a position where the main unit can be firmly installed, and install it securely.
If the main unit is not securely fastened, the errors in location display will be greater.
• Do not install the main unit on the board covering the spare tyre or other places which are subject to vibration.
• When the main unit is installed under a front seat, ensure that it does not obstruct the sliding action of the seat.
• Do not install the main unit where it will be under luggage. Strong mechanical shock to the main unit would increase the errors in location display.
• Avoid installing the main unit in places where it will interfere with loading and unloading of the spare tyre, jack, tools, etc.
• Check that a CD-ROM can be ejected with the main unit installed.
• Install the main unit on a surface within 10º tolerance. A surface tilted more than this would increase the errors in location display.

• If you use the mobile navigation system out of areas where PIONEER is permitted, your position is not shown properly.
• Do not install the main unit vertically.
Installing it this way can cause it to function improperly.

Installing the main unit inside the boot, on the floor under a seat, etc., using tapping screws
1. Fit the mounting brackets to the sides of the main unit.
Use the following holes on the mounting brackets.
2. Fix to the floor with tapping screws.

CAUTION
• Before drilling any mounting holes, confirm that the screws will not interfere with any of the vehicle’s operating systems (such as the fuel line, brake lines, electrical wiring, etc.).
Installing the GPS antenna
CAUTION
• Do not cut the GPS antenna lead to shorten it or use an extension to make it longer. Altering the antenna cable could result in a short circuit.
Installation notes
• The antenna should be installed on a level surface where radio waves will be blocked as little as possible. Radio waves cannot be received by the antenna if reception from the satellite is blocked.
Installation on the vehicle roof or boot lid is recommended to enable best reception.

• When installing the GPS antenna inside the vehicle, be sure to use the metal sheet provided with your system. If this is not used, the reception sensitivity will be poor.
• Do not cut the accessory metal sheet. This would reduce the sensitivity of the GPS antenna.
• Take care not to pull the antenna lead when removing the GPS antenna. The magnet attached to the antenna is very powerful, and the lead may become detached.
• The GPS antenna is installed with a magnet. When installing the GPS antenna, be careful not to scratch the vehicle body.
• When installing the GPS antenna on the outside of the vehicle, always put it in the vehicle when going through an automatic vehicle wash. If it is left on the outside it may be knocked off and scratch the vehicle body.
• Do not paint the GPS antenna, as this may affect its performance.

When installing the antenna inside the vehicle (on the dashboard or rear shelf)
Affix the metal sheet on as level a surface as possible where the GPS antenna faces outside the window. Place the GPS antenna on the metal sheet. (The GPS antenna is fastened with its magnet.)

Peel off the protective sheet on the rear.
Make sure the surface is free of moisture, dust, grime, oil, etc., before affixing the metal sheet.
Note: The metal sheet contains a strong adhesive and may leave a mark on the dashboard if it is removed.

Use clamps to secure the lead where necessary inside the vehicle.
Note:
• Some models use window glass that does not allow signals from GPS satellites to pass through. On such models, install the GPS antenna on the outside of the vehicle.
When installing the antenna outside the vehicle (on the body)
Put the GPS antenna in a position as level as possible, such as on the roof or boot lid. (The
GPS antenna is fastened with a magnet.)

Make a U-shaped loop in the lead on the outside to prevent rainwater from flowing along the lead into the interior of the vehicle.

• Be sure that the batteries are loaded with the positive (+) and negative (–) terminals in their correct positions.
• Do not mix new and old batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries. Even if the shape is the same, the voltage may be different.
• Remove the batteries from the commander when it will not be used for a long period of time.
• If leakage has occurred, completely wipe off any liquid from the battery compartment, before loading new batteries.
• These batteries can not be recharged.
• When you replace the batteries, we recommend alkaline batteries.

Affix the small pieces of Velcro tape provided (rough side) to the rear surface of the commander, and the large piece of Velcro tape (soft side) to the installation surface.

• Always keep the commander protected from direct sunlight or high temperatures.
Leaving the commander in places exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures for long periods of time may cause deformation, discolouration or malfunction.
• Replace the batteries when the commander’s performance deteriorates.

After installing the unit
1. Reconnecting the battery.
First, double-check that all connections are correct and that the unit is installed correctly.
Reassemble all vehicle components that you previously removed. Then reconnect the negative (–) cable to the negative (–) terminal of the battery.
2. Start the engine.
3. Press the reset button on the main unit.
Press the reset button on the main unit using a pointed object such as the point of a pen.

4. Set the mobile navigation system.
Set the mobile navigation system as explained in the Owner’s manual.

REFERENCIA EN EL FUTURO.
1. Lea completa y cuidadosamente este manual antes de instalar su sistema de navegación móvil.
2. Guarde a mano este manual para utilizarlo como referencia en el futuro.
3. Ponga mucha atención a todas las advertencias de este manual y siga cuidadosamente las instrucciones.
4. Este sistema de navegación sólo tiene la finalidad de servirle como ayuda para manejar su vehículo. De ninguna forma debe considerarse como un acaparador de su atención, buen juicio y cuidado durante la conducción. No utilice su sistema de navegación si al hacerlo va a poner en peligro el manejo seguro de su vehículo.

5. En ciertas circunstancias este sistema de navegación puede visualizar una información errónea de la posición de su vehículo, la distancia de los objetos mostrados en la pantalla y las direcciones de la brújula. Además, el sistema tiene ciertas limitaciones, incluyendo la incapacidad de identificar calles de una dirección, restricciones temporales del tráfico y zonas donde la conducción pueda resultar peligrosa. Haga uso de su buen juicio dependiendo de las condiciones de conducción reales.
6. Al igual que con cualquier otro accesorio del interior, el sistema de navegación nunca deberá distraerle y poner en peligro el manejo seguro de su vehículo. Si encuentra dificultades al utilizar el sistema o al leer la visualización, haga los ajustes necesarios estando el vehículo estacionado en un lugar seguro.
7. No intente instalar o revisar usted mismo la unidad de navegación móvil. La instalación o revisión de la unidad de navegación móvil por personas sin formación ni experiencia en equipos electrónicos y accesorios para automóviles puede ser peligroso y podría exponerle a una descarga eléctrica o a otros peligros.
8. Recuerde ponerse siempre el cinturón de seguridad cuando maneje su automóvil.
En el caso de sufrir un accidente, sus lesiones pueden ser mucho más graves si no tiene bien puesto su cinturón de seguridad.

Conexión del sistema
PRECAUCIÓN
• Pioneer no recomienda que sea usted mismo quien instale o revise su unidad de navegación. La instalación o revisión del producto puede exponerle a descargas eléctricas u otros peligros. Solicite que todos los trabajos de instalación y revisión de su unidad de navegación los realice el personal de servicio Pioneer autorizado.
• Asegure todo el cableado con abrazaderas de cables o cinta para usos eléctricos. No permita que el cableado pelado permanezca descubierto.
• No taladre un agujero en el compartimiento del motor para conectar el cable anaranjado de la unidad a la batería del vehículo. La vibración del motor podría estropear el aislamiento en el punto por donde el cable pasa del compartimiento de los pasajeros al compartimiento del motor. Tenga mucho cuidado para mantener el buen estado del cable en lo relativo a este punto.
• Es peligrosísimo dejar que el cable de la antena GPS y el cable del micrófono se enrollen en la base del volante o en la palanca de cambios. Asegúrese de instalar la unidad de forma que ésta no sea un obstáculo para la conducción.
• Asegúrese de que los cables no interfieran con partes móviles del vehículo tales como la palanca de cambio, el freno de mano o el mecanismo de deslizamiento de los asientos.
• No ponga los cables donde queden expuestos a temperaturas altas. Si se calienta el aislamiento, los cables podrán estropearse y causar un cortocircuito.
• No corte el cable de antena de GPS para reducir su longitud ni utilice una extensión para alargarlo. La alteración del cable de la antena puede causar un cortocircuito.
• No acorte ningún cable. Si lo hace, el circuito de protección tal vez no funcione correctamente.
• Nunca suministre alimentación a otros productos electrónicos cortando el aislamiento del cable de alimentación de la unidad de navegación y tomando corriente de él. La capacidad nominal del cable se excederá y causará un recalentamiento.

ENTRADA DE SEÑAL DE VELOCIDAD DEL AUTOMÓVIL
El sistema de navegación móvil se conecta aquí para detectar la distancia que ha recorrido el automóvil. Conecte siempre el circuito de detección de velocidad del automóvil o el generador de pulso de velocidad ND-PG1 vendido por separado. Si no se hace esta conexión aumentará el error en la visualización de ubicación.
FRENO DE MANO
Se utiliza para detectar el estado ON/OFF del freno de mano. Este cable debe conectarse al lado de alimentación del interruptor del freno de mano. Si esta conexión se hace mal o se omite, algunas funciones de su sistema de alimentación no podrán utilizarse.

GUÍA ENCENDIDA
Cuando se combine esta unidad de navegación móvil con un equipo estéreo Pioneer para automóvil, si el equipo estéreo tiene cables amarillos/negros (SILENCIAMIENTO), haga la conexión a estos cables. De esta forma, cuando salga el audio guía y cuando utilice el sistema mediante voz, el equipo estéreo para automóvil se silenciará automáticamente.
Nota: Algunos modelos invierten los cables
+ y – para la luz de marcha atrás. Conecte el cable morado al cable cuya tensión cambia cuando la palanca de cambios se pone en la posición de marcha atrás.

PRECAUCIÓN
• Pioneer no recomienda que sea usted mismo quien instale o revise su unidad de navegación. La instalación o revisión del producto puede exponerle a descargas eléctricas u otros peligros. Solicite que todos los trabajos de instalación y revisión de su unidad de navegación los realice el personal de servicio Pioneer autorizado.
• Nunca instale la unidad en lugares donde:
* Ésta pueda lesionar al conductor o a los pasajeros si el vehículo se detiene bruscamente.
* Ésta pueda interferir con el manejo del vehículo por parte del conductor al ponerla, por ejemplo, en el suelo delante del asiento del conductor.
• Asegúrese de que no haya nada detrás del salpicadero u otros paneles al taladrar agujeros en ellos. Tenga cuidado para no estropear los conductos de combustible, los conductos del líquido de frenos o los cables de alimentación.
• Cuando utilice tornillos no permita que éstos entren en contacto con ningún cable eléctrico. La vibración puede estropear los cables, causando un cortocircuito u otros daños en el vehículo.
• Para asegurar una instalación apropiada, utilice las piezas suministradas de la forma especificada. Si utiliza otras piezas que no hayan sido suministradas, éstas podrán estropear las partes internas de la unidad, o podrán aflojarse y hacer que se desprenda la unidad.
PRECAUCIÓN
• Es peligrosísimo dejar que el cable de la antena GPS y el cable del micrófono se enrollen en la base del volante o en la palanca de cambios. Asegúrese de instalar la unidad de forma que ésta no sea un obstáculo para la conducción.
• Asegúrese de que los cables no queden atrapados en una puerta ni en el mecanismo de deslizamiento de un asiento porque puede producirse un cortocircuito.
• Después de instalar la unidad de navegación, compruebe que todos los demás equipos de su vehículo funcionen correctamente.
Para impedir que entre ruido electromagnético en el sistema de navegación móvil
• Para impedir que el ruido electromagnético entre en el sistema de navegación móvil, no instale la unidad principal ni la antena GPS cerca de la antena de FM/MW/LW del equipo estéreo ni cerca del cable de la antena de FM/MW/LW. El ruido electromagnético puede aumentar el error de la visualización de la ubicación.
Antes de instalar y fijar la unidad
• Haga primero conexiones provisionales para comprobar que la unidad y el sistema funcionen correctamente.

Notas acerca de la instalación
• No instale la unidad principal en lugares donde quede expuesta a temperaturas y humedades altas, tales como:
* Lugares próximos a salidas de calefacciones.
* Lugares expuestos a la luz solar directa tales como el salpicadero o la estantería trasera del vehículo.
• Lugares donde pueda ser salpicada por la lluvia como, por ejemplo, cerca de la puerta.
• La resistencia de la instalación dependerá del modelo del vehículo y de la posición de instalación. Elija una posición donde la unidad principal pueda instalarse firmemente, e instálela bien.
Si la unidad principal no está firmemente sujeta, el error de la visualización de la ubicación será mayor.
• No instale la unidad principal en el panel que cubre la rueda de recambio ni en otros lugares donde quede expuesta a la vibración.
• Cuando la unidad principal se instale debajo del asiento delantero, asegúrese de que ésta no obstruya la acción de deslizamiento del asiento.
• No instale la unidad principal en ningún lugar donde la carga pueda quedar encima de ella. Los golpes mecánicos intensos en la unidad principal podrían aumentar el error de la visualización de la ubicación.
• Evite instalar la unidad principal en lugares donde interfiera con la carga y descarga de la rueda de recambio, el gato, herramientas, etc.
• Compruebe que un CD-ROM pueda expulsarse estando instalada la unidad principal.
• Instale la unidad principal en una superficie con una tolerancia de inclinación de 10°. Una superficie más inclinada podría aumentar el error de la visualización de la ubicación.

• Si utiliza el sistema de navegación móvil fuera de las áreas permitidas por PIONEER, su posición no se mostrará correctamente.
• No instale la unidad principal verticalmente. Instalarla de esta forma puede ser la causa de que la unidad funcione mal.

Notas acerca de la instalación
• La antena debe instalarse en una superficie nivelada donde las ondas de radio queden bloqueadas lo menos posible.
Las ondas de radio no podrán ser recibidas por la antena si la emisión desde el satélite queda bloqueada.
Para obtener la mejor recepción se recomienda realizar la instalación en el techo o en la cubierta del maletero del automóvil.

• Cuando instale la antena GPS en el interior del vehículo, asegúrese de utilizar la hoja metálica proporcionada con su sistema. Si ésta no se utiliza, la sensibilidad de la recepción no será apropiada.
• No corte la hoja metálica suministrada para hacerla más pequeña. Esto podría reducir la sensibilidad de la antena GPS.
• Tenga cuidado para no tirar del cable de la antena cuando quite la antena GPS. El imán colocado en la antena es muy potente, y es posible que el cable se desprenda.
• La antena GPS está instalada con su imán. Cuando instale la antena GPS, tenga cuidado para no rayar la carrocería.
• Cuando instale la antena GPS en el exterior del automóvil, póngala siempre en su interior cuando éste tenga que pasar por un equipo de lavado automático de automóviles. Si la antena se deja en el exterior, ésta podrá desprenderse y rayar la carrocería del automóvil.
• No pinte la antena GPS porque esto puede alterar su rendimiento.

1. Bitte lesen Sie diese Anleitung vor dem Einbau des mobilen Navigationsystems aufmerksam durch.
2. Bewahren Sie die Anleitung für späteres Nachschlagen auf.
3. Beachten Sie alle Warnungen in dieser Anleitung, und folgen Sie den hier gegebenen Anweisungen genauestens.
4. Das mobile Navigationsystem ist ausschließlich als Orientierungshilfe für
Autofahrer bestimmt und ist keinesfalls als ein Ersatz für Aufmerksamkeit und
Vorsicht beim Fahren oder dergleichen zu verwenden. Das mobile
Navigationsystem sollte nur dann betrieben werden, wenn es die Aufmerksamkeit des Fahrers nicht vom Verkehrsgeschehen ablenkt: Das Gerät darf den Fahrer niemals von der Einhaltung wichtiger Sicherheitsrichtlinien und den allgemeinen
Verkehrsregeln abhalten.
5. Es kann mitunter vorkommen, daß das Navigationsystem die Position des
Fahrzeugs, die Entfernung der auf dem Bildschirm angezeigten Objekte und die
Kompaßrichtung nicht korrekt anzeigt. Darüber hinaus funktioniert das System nur innerhalb bestimmter Grenzen und erkennt z.B. keine Einbahnstraßen, vorübergehende Verkehrsbeschränkungen oder potentiell gefährliche
Streckenabschnitte. Immer die Verkehrssituation unter Beachtung der herrschenden Bedingungen selbst beurteilen.
6. Zubehör im Innenraum des Fahrzeugs sollte die Aufmerksamkeit des Fahrers niemals vom Verkehrsgeschehen ablenken, und das gleiche gilt auch für das
Navigationsystem. Falls Schwierigkeiten hinsichtlich der Bedienung des Geräts auftreten, oder das angezeigte Bild schlecht erkennbar ist, sollten weitere
Einstellungen erst nach dem sicheren Parken des Fahrzeugs vorgenommen werden.
7. Versuchen Sie niemals das mobile Navigationsystem eigenhändig einzubauen oder zu warten. Der Einbau oder die Wartung des mobilen Navigationsystems durch ungeschulte Personen, die im Umgang mit elektronischer Ausrüstung und
Fahrzeugzubehör keine Erfahrung haben, setzt den Fahrer der Gefahr elektrischer
Schläge und anderer Verletzungen aus.
8. Beachten Sie bitte, beim Fahren stets den Sicherheitsgurt anzulegen. Nicht korrekt angeschnallte Insassen sind bei einem Unfall einer wesentlich höheren
Verletzungsgefahr ausgesetzt.

Anschluß des Geräts
VORSICHTSMASSNAHME
• Pioneer rät nachdrücklich davon ab, das Navigationgerät eigenhändig einzubauen oder zu warten, da hierbei die Möglichkeit elektrischer Schläge und anderer Gefahren besteht. Einbau und Wartung des Navigationsgeräts sind deshalb dem autorisierten Kundendienst-Fachpersonal zu überlassen.
• Unsachgemäßer Einbau kann zum Erlöschen der Garantie des
Fahrzeugherstellers führen.
• Beachten Sie alle Vorschriften und Sicherheitshinweise des Kfz-Herstellers,
Insbesondere Vorschriften zu Alarmanlage, Wegfahrsperren und Airbag!
• Alle Kabel mit Kabelklemmen oder Isolierband befestigen. Es dürfen keine offenliegenden Drähte vorhanden sein.
• Kein Loch in den Motorraum bohren, um das orangefarbene Kabel des
Geräts an die Fahrzeugbatterie anzuschließen: Die Kabelisolierung kann am
Übergangspunkt von Insassenraum zum Motorraum durch die Vibration des Motors beschädigt werden. Darauf achten, das Kabel in diesem Bereich besonders gut zu befestigen.
• Es ist äußerst gefährlich die GPS-Antennenleitung oder das Mikrofonkabel um die Lenksäule oder den Gangschalthebel zu wickeln. Beim Einbau unbedingt darauf achten, daß das Gerät den Fahrer nicht behindert.
• Vergewissern, daß die Kabel keine beweglichen Teile des Fahrzeugs, wie z.B.
Gangschalthebel, Handbremse oder Sitzverstellmechanismus, berühren.
• Die Kabel niemals in Bereichen verlegen, an denen sie hohen Temperaturen ausgesetzt sind: Ein Erhitzen der Isolierung kann zur Beschädigung der
Kabel führen und einen Kurzschluß verursachen.
• Das Kabel der GPS-Antenne nicht abschneiden, um es zu kürzen, oder mit einem Verlängerungskabel verlängern, da beides zu einem Kurzschluß oder einer Fehlfunktion führen kann.
• Kabel sollten grundsätzlich nicht gekürzt werden. Andernfalls funktioniert die Schutzschaltung eventuell nicht ordnungsgemäß.
• Niemals durch Aufschneiden der Isolierung des Betriebsstromkabels des
Navigationsystemsgeräts und Anzapfen der Leitung Strom an andere elektronische Geräte ableiten. Derartige Eingriffe führen zum Überschreiten der
Stromkapazität und Überhitzen des Kabels.
Vor dem Einbau des Geräts
• Das Navigationgerät ist für Fahrzeuge mit 12-Volt-Batterien und negativer Masse bestimmt. Vor dem Einbau des Geräts zuerst die Batteriespannung überprüfen (gilt besonders für Freizeitfahrzeuge, Laster und Busse).
• Zur Vermeidung der Kurzschlußgefahr das an den Negativpol (–) der Batterie angeschlossene Batteriekabel trennen.
Zur Vermeidung von Schäden
• Beim Abziehen eines Steckers stets am Stecker ziehen, niemals am Kabel. Andernfalls kann das Kabel aus dem Stecker herausgezogen werden.

FAHRZEUGGESCHWINDIGKEITS-SIGNALEINGANG
Durch diesen Anschluß erkennt das mobile
Navigationsystem die Länge der Fahrtstrecke. Die
Geschwindigkeit-Erkennungsschaltung (Speed Pulse) des
Wagens oder den als Sonderzubehör erhältlichen
Geschwindigkeit-Impulsgenerator ND-PG1 unbedingt anschließen. Andernfalls kann es zu einer erhöhten
Fehlerrate der Fahrzeugpositionsanzeige kommen.
HANDBREMSE
Dieser Anschluß dient zur Erkennung des ON/OFF-
Status der Handbremse. Das Kabel ist an die
Stromversorgungsseite des Handbremsenschalters anzuschließen. Wird dieser Anschluß falsch ausge- führt oder ausgelassen, sind bestimmte Funktionen des Navigationsystems nicht betriebsfähig.

WEGWEISER-EMPFANG
Falls das mobile Navigationsgerät mit einer Pioneer-
Autostereoanlage kombiniert werden soll und die Stereoanlage über
Gelb/Schwarz-Kabel zur Stummschaltung (MUTE) verfügt, an diese
Kabel anschließen. Hierdurch wird die Lautstärke der Stereoanlage automatisch reduziert, wenn das Navigationsystem eine
Wegweiserdurchsage ausgibt, oder wenn das System sprachgesteuert wird.
Hinweis: Bei manchen Modellen sind die + und - Leitungen für die Rückfahrleuchte umgekehrt. Die violette Leitung an die
Leitung anklemmen, deren Spannung sich
ändert, wenn der Schalthebel auf Rückwärts gestellt wird.

VORSICHTSMASSNAHME
• Pioneer rät nachdrücklich davon ab, das Navigationsgerät eigenhändig einzubauen oder zu warten, da hierbei die Möglichkeit elektrischer Schläge und anderer Gefahren besteht. Einbau und Wartung des Navigationsgeräts sind deshalb dem autorisierten Kundendienst-Fachpersonal zu überlassen.
• Für den Einbau des Geräts sind die folgenden Plätze unbedingt zu vermeiden:
* Plätze, an denen das Gerät bei einem plötzlichen Bremsmanöver Fahrer oder Mitfahrer verletzen kann.
* Plätze, an denen das Gerät den Fahrer bei der Steuerung des Wagens behindert, wie z.B. auf dem Boden vor dem Fahrersitz.
• Vor dem Bohren von Löchern in Armaturenbrett oder sonstige
Verkleidungen vergewissern, daß sich dahinter keine Gegenstände befinden.
Unbedingt darauf achten, keine Kraftstoffleitungen, Bremsleitungen oder
Betriebsstromkabel zu beschädigen.
• Bei der Verwendung von Schrauben darauf achten, daß diese keine elektrischen Kabel berühren. Die Motorvibration kann zur Beschädigung der
Isolierung von Kabeln führen und dadurch Kurzschlüsse oder sonstige
Schäden am Fahrzeug verursachen.
• Zugunsten des korrekten Einbaus sind die mitgelieferten Teile entsprechend der jeweiligen Anleitung zu verwenden. Die Verwendung nicht mitgelieferter
Teile kann zur Beschädigung des Geräts führen. Darüber hinaus können sich diese Teile lösen und den vorschriftsmäßig festen Sitz des Gerätes lockern, was zur Funktionsbeeinträchtigung und erhöhter Verletzungsgefahr bei Unfällen führt.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHME
• Es ist äußerst gefährlich die GPS-Antennenleitung oder das Mikrofonkabel um die Lenksäule oder den Gangschalthebel zu wickeln. Beim Einbau un bedingt darauf achten, daß das Gerät den Fahrer nicht behindert.
• Vergewissern, daß sich die Kabel nicht in der Tür oder im Sitzverstellmechanismus verfangen können und einen Kurzschluß auslösen.
• Nach dem Einbau des Navigationsystems vergewissern, daß alle anderen
Vorrichtungen des Fahrzeugs ordnungsgemäß funktionieren.
Zur Vermeidung elektromagnetischen Rauschens des mobilen
Navigationsystems
• Zur Vermeidung von Störungen des mobilen Navigationsystems durch elektromagnetisches Rauschen sollte die GPS-Antenne nicht in der Nähe der UKW/MW/LW-Antenne der Autostereoanlage oder des UKW/MW/LW-Antennenkabels installiert werden.
Elektromagnetisches Rauschen kann zu einer erhöhten Fehlerrate der
Fahrzeugpositionsanzeige führen.
Vor Einbau und Befestigung
• Zunächst nur temporäre Anschlüsse ausführen, und prüfen, ob das Gerät und das System korrekt funktionieren.
Vor der Verwendung des Klebebands
• Vor dem Anbringen von Kleband vergewissern, daß die Klebefläche frei von
Feuchtigkeit, Staub, Schmutz, Öl usw. ist.

Hinweise zum Einbau
• Die Navigationseinheit nicht an Plätzen einbauen, an denen es hohen Temperaturen oder hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit ausgesetzt ist, wie z.B.:
* In der Nähe einer Heizvorrichtung.
* Plätze mit direkter Sonnenbestrahlung, wie z.B. auf dem Armaturenbrett oder der
Heckablage.
• Plätze, die Regenspritzern ausgesetzt sind, wie z.B. in Türnähe.
• Die Einbaustabilität hängt vom Fahrzeugmodell und dem Einbauplatz ab.
Einen Einbauplatz wählen, an dem das Hauptgerät fest und sicher installiert werden kann und das Gerät dort einbauen. Eine unzureichende Befestigung des Hauptgeräts kann zu einer erhöhten Fehlerrate der Fahrzeugpositionsanzeige führen.
• Die Navigationseinheit nicht auf der Abdeckfläche über dem Ersatzreifen oder an sonstigen Plätzen, die Vibrationen ausgesetzt sind, einbauen.
• Beim Einbau der Navigationseinheit unter einem Vordersitz vergewissern, daß es den
Sitzverstellmechanismus nicht behindert.
• Das Gerät nicht an einem Platz einbauen, an dem Gepäck oder mitgeführte Lasten auf das Gerät zu liegen kommen. Starke Stöße gegen das Gerät können zu einer erhöhten
Fehlerrate der Fahrzeugpositionsanzeige führen.
• Das Gerät nicht an einem Platz einbauen, an dem es das Aus- oder Einladen von
Ersatzreifen, Wagenheber, Werkzeug usw. behindert.
• Vergewissern, daß sich die CD-ROM am gewählten Einbauplatz herausnehmen läßt.
• Die Navigationseinheit auf einer ebenen Fläche einbauen, deren
Neigungsgrad 10° nicht überschreiten sollte. Eine schrägere Fläche kann zu einer erhöhten Fehlerrate der
Fahrzeugpositionsanzeige führen.

• Bei Verwendung des mobilen Navigationsystems außerhalb des Zulassungsbereichs von
PIONEER, wird die Fahrzeugposition nicht korrekt angezeigt.
• Die Navigationseinheit nicht vertikal aufgestellt einbauen. Der Einbau in dieser Stellung kann zu
Funktionsstörungen des Gerätes führen.

• Bei der Befestigung der GPS-Antenne im Fahrzeuginnenraum unbedingt das mitgelieferte Metallblech verwenden, da sich andernfalls kein guter Empfang erzielen läßt.
• Das Metallblech nicht kleiner schneiden, da hierdurch die Empfangsempfindlichkeit der
GPS-Antenne geschwächt wird.
• Beim Entfernen der GPS-Antenne darauf achten, nicht am Antennenkabel zu ziehen.
Der an der Antenne angebrachte Magnet ist stark, so daß sich das Kabel hierdurch lösen kann.
• Die GPS-Antenne wird mit dem Magnet befestigt. Beim Anbringen der GPS-Antenne darauf achten, die Lackierung nicht zu verkratzen.
• Eine an der Außenseite des Wagens angebrachte GPS-Antenne ist vor dem Fahren durch eine Waschanlage abzunehmen und im Fahrzeuginnenraum zu verwahren. Andernfalls kann sich die Antenne beim Waschen lösen und den Lack des Wagens verkratzen.
• Die GPS-Antenne nicht lackieren, um eine Minderung der Antennenleistung zu vermeiden.

Hinweise zu den Batterien
• Darauf achten, die Batterien mit korrekt ausgerichtetem Plus- (+) und Minuspol (–) einzulegen.
• Bereits gebrauchte Batterien nicht zusammen mit neuen Batterien einlegen.
• Keine unterschiedlichen Batteriesorten zusammen einlegen. Selbst wenn die Batterien die gleiche Größe haben, ist die Batteriespannung möglicherweise unterschiedlich.
• Die Batterien herausnehmen, wenn das Bedienungsteil längere Zeit nicht verwendet wird.
• Bei Auslaufen von Batterien die Batteriesäure vollständig aus dem Batteriefach entfernen, bevor neue Batterien eingelegt werden.
• Diese Batterien können nicht wieder aufgeladen werden.
• Für den Austausch empfehlen wir Alkalibatterien.

1. Wiederanschließen der Batterie.
Vergewissern, daß alle Anschlüsse in Ordnung sind und das Gerät korrekt eingebaut ist.
Hiernach alle zuvor ausgebauten Fahrzeugteile wieder befestigen. Anschließend das negative (–) Batteriekabel wieder an den Negativpol (–) der Fahrzeugbatterie anschließen.
2. Den Motor anlassen.
3. Die Rückstelltaste an der Navigationseinheit drücken.

• Ce Système de Navigation Automobile Pioneer est destiné uniquement à vous aider dans la conduite de votre véhicule. En aucun cas, il n’autorise un relâchement de votre attention, de votre jugement et de votre vigilance pendant la conduite.
• N’utilisez pas ce Système de Navigation Automobile pour des services d’urgence comme des hôpitoux ou des postes de police. Toutes les installations de service d’urgence ne se trouvent pas dans les données cartographiées.
• N’utilisez PAS le système de navigation automobile si son emploi détourne votre attention et empêche un maniement sûr de votre véhicule. Respectez toujours les règles du code de la route et conformez-vous à toutes les réglementations routières en vigueur.

VOUS Y RÉFÉRER ÉVENTUELLEMENT PAR LA SUITE.
1. Lisez attentivement toute cette brochure avant d’installer votre système de navigation automobile.
2. Conservez ce manuel à portée de la main pour vous y référer ultérieurement.
3. Tenez compte de tous les avertissements formulés dans ce manuel et respectez soigneusement les consignes.
4. Ce Système de Navigation Automobile Pioneer est destiné uniquement à vous aider dans la conduite de votre véhicule. En aucun cas, il n’autorise un relâchement de votre attention, de votre jugement et de votre vigilance pendant la conduite. N’utilisez PAS le système de navigation automobile si son emploi détourne votre attention et empêche un maniement sûr de votre véhicule. Respectez toujours les règles du code de la route et conformez-vous à toutes les réglementations routières en vigueur.
5. Dans certaines circonstances, ce système de navigation peut afficher des informations erronées à propos de la position de votre véhicule, de la distance des objets affichés sur l’écran et des directions de la boussole. En outre, le système comporte certaines limitations, telles que l’incapacité de signaler les rues à sens unique, les restrictions temporaires à la circulation et les zones où la circulation peut devenir dangereuse. Veuillez faire appel à votre propre jugement en fonction de la situation réelle.
6. Comme tout autre accessoire de l’habitacle, le système de navigation ne peut pas détourner votre attention et nuire à la sécurité de la conduite. Si vous éprouvez des difficultés à utiliser le système ou à lire l’écran, effectuez les réglages nécessaires après vous être garé dans un endroit sûr.
7. N’essayez pas d’installer ou d’entretenir vous-même votre unité de navigation.
L’installation et l’entretien effectués par un personnel non formé et non compétent en équipements électroniques et accessoires pour automobiles peut être dangereux car il y a risque d’électrocution et d’autres accidents.
8. Veillez à attacher toujours votre ceinture de sécurité sur la route. En cas d’accident, le port de la ceinture peut réduire considérablement la gravité des blessures.

Branchement du système
ATTENTION
• Pioneer déconseille d’installer ou d’entretenir vous-même votre unité de navigation car ces travaux comportent des risques d’électrocution et d’autres dangers. Confiez l’installation et l’entretien à un personnel de service
Pioneer qualifié.
• Immobilisez tous les fils avec des colliers ou des serre-câbles. Ne laissez aucun fil à nu.
• Ne forez pas un orifice vers le compartiment du moteur afin de raccorder le fil orange de l’appareil sur la batterie du véhicule car les vibrations du moteur pourraient à la longue abîmer l’isolation du fil au point de passage entre l’habitable et le compartiment du moteur. Veillez tout particulièrement
à bien immobiliser le fil à ce point.
• Une situation très dangereuse pourrait se présenter si le câble d’antenne
GPS ou le fil du microphone devait s’enrouler autour de la colonne de direction ou du levier des vitesses. Veillez à installer l’appareil de telle sorte que rien ne fasse obstacle à la conduite.
• Assurez-vous qu’aucun fil ou conducteur ne fasse obstacle aux pièces mobiles du véhicule, telles que le levier des vitesses, le frein à main ou le mécanisme de réglage de la position des sièges.
• Ne cheminez pas les fils à des endroits potentiellement très chauds car un
échauffement de leur isolant peut les endommager et entraîner un court-circuit.
• Ne coupez pas le câble de l’antenne GPS et n’utilisez pas un prolongateur pour l’allonger car une telle modification pourrait provoquer un court-circuit.
• Ne court-circuitez pas les fils car le circuit de protection ne fonctionnerait plus correctement.
• N’alimentez jamais d’autres appareils électroniques en coupant la gaine isolante du cordon d’alimentation de l’unité de navigation automobile et en y effectuant des raccords, car la capacité du cordon serait dépassée, ce qui provoquerait une surchauffe.
Avant de raccorder l’appareil
• Cette unité est conçue pour des véhicules à batterie de 12 volts et mise à la masse négative. Avant d’installer le système (surtout dans un véhicule tout-terrain, camion ou bus), vérifiez la tension de la batterie.
• Débranchez la borne négative (–) de la batterie pour éviter tout risque de court-circuit.
Pour éviter des dégâts
• Pour débrancher un connecteur, tirez sur le connecteur proprement dit et pas sur son fil, car il pourrait en être arraché.
• Si l’appareil doit être installé dans un véhicule dont la clé de contact ne com-

Remarque: La position du contacteur de frein à main dépend du modèle de véhicule.

Entrée du signal de vitesse de voiture
Le système de navigation est raccordé ici afin de détecter la distance parcourue par la voiture. Raccordez toujours le circuit de détection de vitesse de la voiture ou le générateur d’impulsions de vitesse ND-PG1, vendu séparément. Sans cette connexion, le risque d’erreur d’affichage de la position augmente.
Frein à main
Utilisé pour détecter l’état ON/OFF du frein à main. Ce conducteur doit être raccordé sur l’alimentation du contacteur de frein à main. Si cette connexion est omise ou mal faite, certaines fonctions du système de navigation ne seront pas utilisables.
Méthode de connexion
Immobilisez le fil d’alimentation du contacteur de frein à main.
Serrez fermement avec une pince à mâchoires pointues.

Au cas où l’unité de navigation automobile est combinée à une autostéréo Pioneer, si celle-ci possède des fils jaune/noir (Mise en sourdine), effectuez le branchement sur ces fils. De cette façon, quand le guidage sonore est en service et lors d’une commande vocale, le son de l’auto-stéréo est automatiquement atténué et le volume sonore est réduit.
Remarque: Sur certains modèles, les cordons + et - du feu de recul sont inversés.
Raccordez le cordon pourpre sur le cordon dont la tension change quand le levier des vitesses est mis en marche arrière [R].
Méthode de connexion
Immobilisez le conducteur de côté + du feu de recul.

Cette connexion est effectuée pour que le système de navigation puisse détecter si le véhicule avance ou recule. Raccordez toujours au conducteur primaire du feu de recul.

• N’installez jamais l’unité dans un endroit où:
* il pourrait blesser le conducteur ou les passagers en cas d’arrêt brusque;
* il pourrait gêner les mouvements du conducteur, comme sur le plancher devant son siège.
• Avant d’y forer des trous, assurez-vous que rien ne se trouve derrière la planche de bord ou une cloison. Veillez à ne pas endommager les canalisations de carburant, circuits de freinage ou câbles d’alimentation.
• A l’emploi de vis, faites attention à un contact éventuel avec un conducteur
électrique. Des vibrations pourraient endommager les fils et provoquer un court-circuit ou d’autres dégâts sur le véhicule.
• Pour que l’installation soit correcte, utilisez les pièces fournies de la manière spécifiée. L’emploi de pièces différentes peut endommager les composants intérieurs de l’unité ou, en se détachant, elles peuvent provoquer la chute de l’unité.
ATTENTION
• Une situation très dangereuse pourrait se présenter si le câble d’antenne
GPS ou le fil du microphone devait s’enrouler autour de la colonne de direction ou du levier des vitesses. Veillez à installer l’appareil de telle sorte que rien ne fasse obstacle à la conduite.
• Assurez-vous qu’aucun fil ou conducteur n’est coincé dans une porte ou le mécanisme de coulissement d’un siège, car ceci pourrait provoquer un courtcircuit.
• Vérifiez le bon fonctionnement des autres équipements du véhicule après l’installation de l’unité de navigation.
Pour protéger le système de navigation contre les parasites
électromagnétiques
• Pour que des parasites électromagnétiques ne viennent pas perturber le système de navigation, n’installez pas l’unité principale ou l’antenne GPS près de l’antenne FM/PO/GO de l’auto-stéréo ou de son cordon. Ces parasites augmenteraient l’erreur d’affichage de la position du véhicule.
Avant un branchement définitif
• Effectuez d’abord des connexions temporaires afin de vérifier si l’unité et le système fonctionnent correctement.
Avant d’employer le ruban adhésif
• Afin de fixer le ruban adhésif, assurez-vous que l’endroit n’est ni humide ni souillé par de la poussière ou de l’huile, etc.

Remarques sur l’installation
• N’installez pas l’unité principale à un endroit où elle serait soumise à une forte température ou à l’humidité, tel que:
* Près d’une bouche du chauffage du véhicule.
* En plein soleil, comme sur le dessus de la planche de bord ou de la lunette arrière.
• Evitez un endroit où l’unité peut être mouillée par la pluie, comme près d’une porte.
• La résistance de l’installation dépend du modèle du véhicule et de la position de l’installation. Choisissez un endroit où l’unité principale pourra être solidement fixée et installez-la convenablement. Si elle n’est pas fermement immobilisée, l’erreur d’affichage de la position du véhicule augmentera.
• N’installez pas l’unité principale sur le couvercle du pneu de rechange ou tout autre endroit soumis à des vibrations.
• Si l’unité principale est installée sous un siège avant, assurez-vous qu’elle ne fait pas obstacle au coulissement du siège, et qu’elle ne soit pas déplocée par les pieds des passagers arrière.
• N’installez pas l’unité principale à un endroit où vous pourriez poser des bagages. Des chocs mécaniques puissants subis par l’unité principale augmenterait l’erreur d’affichage de la position du véhicule.
• Evitez d’installer l’unité principale à un endroit où elle gênerait l’accès au pneu de rechange, au cric, à des outils, etc.
• Assurez-vous qu’un CD-ROM puisse être éjecté de l’unité, une fois qu’elle est installée.
• L’inclinaison éventuelle de la surface d’installation de l’unité principale ne doit pas dépasser 10°; faute de quoi l’erreur d’affichage de la position du véhicule augmenterait.

• Si vous utilisez le système de navigation automobile hors des régions où PIONEER est autorisé, votre position ne sera pas indiquée correctement.
• N’installez pas l’unité principale verticalement car elle ne fonctionnerait pas correctement.

Remarques sur l’installation
• L’antenne doit être installée sur une surface à niveau où les ondes radio sont bloquées le moins possible. Les ondes radio ne peuvent pas être captées correctement par l’antenne si la réception des satellites est gênée.
Une installation sur le toit ou sur le capot du coffre est conseillée pour assurer une bonne réception.

• Si vous installez l’antenne GPS à l’intérieur du véhicule, utilisez la plaque métallique fournie avec le système. La sensibilité de réception sera faible si elle n’est pas utilisée.
• Ne coupez pas la plaque métallique car la sensibilité de l’antenne GPS en serait réduite.
• Ne tirez pas sur le câble lorsque vous déplacez l’antenne GPS, car il pourrait s’arracher du fait qu’un aimant très puissant est fixé sur l’antenne.
• L’antenne GPS s’installe grâce à un aimant. Veillez à ne pas griffer la carrosserie lors de son installation.
• Si l’antenne GPS est installée hors du véhicule, posez-la à l’intérieur lors d’un lavage automatique; faute de quoi elle pourrait griffer la carrosserie.
• Pour ne pas réduire ses performances, ne peignez pas l’antenne GPS.

• Certains modèles de voiture ont des vitres qui ne laissent pas passer les signaux des satellites GPS.
Dans ce cas, installez l’antenne GPS à l’extérieur du véhicule.

Remarques sur les piles
• Veillez à respecter les polarités positives (+) et négatives (–) des piles lors de leur installation.
• Ne mélangez pas des piles neuves et usagées.
• Ne mélangez pas des piles de types différents. Des piles de même format peuvent avoir une tension différente.
• Retirez les piles de la télécommande si vous prévoyez de ne pas l’utiliser pendant longtemps.
• Si les piles ont suinté, essuyez l’électrolyte dans le logement et installez des piles neuves.
• Ces piles ne sont pas rechargeables.
• L’emploi de piles alcalines est recommandé.

Remarques sur le maniement de la télécommande
• Protégez toujours la télécommande contre les rayons directs du soleil et les fortes températures. Si elle est laissée pendant longtemps en plein soleil ou dans un endroit très chaud, elle risque d’être déformée, décolorée ou de mal fonctionner.
• Remplacez les piles quand les performances de la télécommande diminuent.

1. Branchement de la batterie.
Vérifiez une nouvelle fois que toutes les connexions ont été bien faites et que l’unité est correctement installée. Remontez tous les composants du véhicule qui ont été déposés, puis rebranchez le câble négatif (–) sur la borne négative (–) de la batterie.
2. Mettez le moteur en marche.
3. Appuyez sur la touche de réinitialisation de l’unité principale.
A l’aide la pointe d’un stylo-bille par exemple, appuyez sur la touche de réinitialisation de l’unité principale.

1. Leggere completamente e con attenzione questo manuale prima di installare il sistema di navigazione mobile.
2. Conservare questo manuale a portata di mano per riferimenti futuri.
3. Fare attenzione a tutti gli avvertimenti in questo manuale e seguire attentamente le istruzioni.
4. Questo sistema di navigazione è inteso solo come un aiuto nella guida del veicolo. Non devono mancare attenzione, giudizio e cautela del conducente durante la guida. Non usare il sistema di navigazione mobile quando tale azione può distrarre da una guida sicura del veicolo. Osservare sempre le regole di sicurezza per la guida e seguire tutte le norme sul traffico in vigore.
5. Questo sistema di navigazione può in alcuni casi visualizzare informazioni erronee sulla posizione del veicolo, la distanza degli oggetti mostrati sullo schermo e le direzioni della bussola. Inoltre il sistema ha alcuni limiti inerenti, come l’incapacità di individuare vie a senso unico, limitazioni temporanee del traffico e zone di guida potenzialmente pericolose. Usare il proprio giudizio in base alle condizioni di guida effettive.
6. Come per altri accessori all’interno del veicolo, il sistema di navigazione non deve distrarre il conducente da una guida sicura del veicolo. Se si hanno difficoltà nel controllo del sistema o nella lettura dello schermo, eseguire le regolazioni dopo aver parcheggiato in un luogo sicuro.
7. Non tentare di installare o riparare personalmente l’unità di navigazione mobile.
L’installazione o la manutenzione dell’unità di navigazione mobile da parte di persone senza addestramento ed esperienza con apparecchiature elettroniche e accessori per auto può essere pericolosa ed esporre al rischio di scosse elettriche e altri pericoli.
8. Ricordare di allacciare sempre la cintura di sicurezza durante l’uso dell’automobile. In caso di incidenti, le lesioni possono essere molto più serie se la cintura di sicurezza non è allacciata correttamente.

Collegamento del sistema
PRECAUZIONE
• Pioneer non raccomanda di installare o riparare personalmente l’unità di navigazione. L’installazione o la manutenzione del prodotto può esporre al rischio di scosse elettriche o altri pericoli. Per tutti gli interventi di installazione e manutenzione rivolgersi a personale tecnico autorizzato Pioneer.
• Fissare tutti i fili con morsetti cavo o nastro isolante. Non lasciare esposto alcun filo nudo.
• Non trapanare un foro nel comparto motore per collegare il cavo arancione dell’unità alla batteria del veicolo. Le vibrazioni del motore possono a lungo andare danneggiare l’isolante nel punto dove il filo passa dall’abitacolo al comparto motore. Fare particolare attenzione quando si fissa il filo in questo punto.
• È estremamente pericoloso lasciare che il cavo dell’antenna GPS o il cavo del microfono si impiglino nella colonna dello sterzo o nella leva del cambio.
Assicurarsi di installare l’unità in modo tale da non ostacolare la guida.
• Assicurarsi che i fili non interferiscano con le parti mobili del veicolo, come la leva del cambio, il freno a mano o il meccanismo di scorrimento dei sedili.
• Non far passare i fili dove siano esposti a temperature elevate. Se l’isolante si surriscalda i fili possono rimanere danneggiati, causando cortocircuiti.
• Non tagliare il filo dell’antenna GPS per accorciarlo e non usare una prolunga per allungarlo. Un’alterazione del cavo antenna può causare un cortocircuito.
• Non accorciare alcun cavo. Altrimenti il circuito di protezione può non funzionare correttamente.
• Non fornire mai alimentazione a prodotti elettronici tagliando l’isolante del cavo di alimentazione dell’unità di navigazione e inserendosi sul cavo. La capacità di corrente del cavo sarebbe ecceduta, causando surriscaldamenti.
Prima di installare l’unità
• Questa unità è realizzata per veicoli con batterie da 12 volt e massa negativa. Prima di installare il sistema (particolarmente in veicoli fuoristrada, camion o autobus), controllare la tensione della batteria.
• Scollegare il terminale negativo (–) della batteria per evitare il rischio di cortocircuiti.
Per evitare danni
• Quando si scollega un connettore, tirare afferrando il connettore. Non tirare afferrando il cavo, perché si potrebbe strapparlo dal connettore.

Il sistema di navigazione mobile è collegato qui per rilevare la distanza percorsa dall’auto. Collegare sempre il circuito sensore di velocità dell’auto o il generatore di impulsi velocità ND-PG1 in vendita separatamente. La mancata esecuzione di questo collegamento aumenta gli errori nell’indicazione della posizione.
FRENO A MANO
Usato per individuare lo stato attivato/disattivato del freno a mano. Questo cavo deve essere collegato al lato alimentazione dell’interruttore freno a mano. Se questo collegamento viene eseguito erroneamente o viene omesso, alcune funzioni del sistema di navigazione non possono essere usate.

GUIDA ATTIVATA
Quando si combina questo sistema di navigazione mobile con un un autostereo Pioneer, se l’autostereo è dotato di cavi giallo/neri
(MUTE), collegare a tali cavi. In questo modo quando viene emesso l’audio di guida e quando si controlla il sistema tramite voce, l’autostereo viene silenziato automaticamente per ridurre il volume stereo dell’auto.
Nota: Alcuni modelli invertono i cavi + e per la lampada di retromarcia. Collegare il cavo viola al cavo la cui tensione cambia quando la leva del cambio è in retromarcia.

Questo è collegato in modo che il sistema di navigazione mobile possa capire se l’auto si sta muovendo in avanti o indietro. Collegare sempre al cavo primario della lampada di retromarcia.

PRECAUZIONE
• Pioneer non raccomanda di installare o riparare personalmente l’unità di navigazione. L’installazione o la manutenzione del prodotto può esporre al rischio di scosse elettriche o altri pericoli. Per tutti gli interventi di installazione e manutenzione rivolgersi a personale tecnico autorizzato Pioneer.
• Non installare mai l’unità in luoghi dove:
* possa ferire il conducente o i passeggeri in caso di arresti bruschi.
* possa interferire con la guida del veicolo, come sul pavimento davanti al sedile del conducente.
• Assicurarsi che non vi sia nulla dietro il cruscotto o i pannelli quando si trapanano fori in queste parti. Fare attenzione a non danneggiare linee del carburante, linee dei freni e cavi di alimentazione.
• Quando si usano viti, non permettere che vengano in contatto con qualsiasi cavo elettrico. Le vibrazioni possono danneggiare i fili, causando cortocircuiti o altri danni al veicolo.
• Per assicurare un’installazione corretta, usare i pezzi in dotazione nel modo specificato. Se si usa qualsiasi pezzo diverso da quelli in dotazione, ne possono risultare danni alle parti interne dell’unità o il pezzo può allentarsi causando lo staccamento dell’unità.
PRECAUZIONE
• È estremamente pericoloso lasciare che il cavo dell’antenna GPS o il cavo del microfono si impiglino nella colonna dello sterzo o nella leva del cambio.
Assicurarsi di installare l’unità in modo tale da non ostacolare la guida.
• Assicurarsi che i fili non possano rimanere schiacciati da una portiera o dal meccanismo di scorrimento dei sedili, causando cortocircuiti.
• Verificare che le altre apparecchiature del veicolo funzionino correttamente dopo aver installato l’unità di navigazione.
Per proteggere il sistema di navigazione mobile da disturbi elettromagnetici
• Per proteggere il sistema di navigazione da disturbi elettromagnetici, non installare l’unità principale o l’antenna GPS vicino all’antenna FM/MW/LW dell’autostereo o al cavo dell’antenna FM/MW/LW. Tali disturbi elettromagnetici aumentano l’errore nell’indicazione della posizione.

• Eseguire prima collegamenti temporanei per controllare che l’unità e il sistema funzionino correttamente.
Prima di usare il nastro adesivo
• Assicurarsi che la superficie sia libera da umidità, polvere, sporco, olio, ecc. prima di applicare il nastro adesivo.

Note sull’installazione
• Non installare l’unità principale in luoghi dove possa essere esposta a temperature elevate o umidità, come:
* vicino alle bocce del riscaldamento.
* in luoghi dove batte direttamente il sole, come sul cruscotto o sul piano portaoggetti posteriore.
• Luoghi che possono essere schizzati dalla pioggia, come vicino alla portiera.
• La robustezza dell’installazione dipende dal modello del veicolo e dalla posizione di installazione. Scegliere una posizione dove l’unità principale possa essere installata saldamente e installarla in modo sicuro. Se l’unità principale non è fissata in modo sicuro, l’errore nell’indicazione della posizione è maggiore.
• Non installare l’unità principale sul pannello che copre la ruota di scorta o in altri luoghi soggetti a vibrazioni.
• Quando si installa l’unità principale sotto un sedile anteriore, assicurarsi che non ostacoli lo scorrimento del sedile.
• Non installare l’unità principale in alcun luogo dove bagagli o altro possano schiacciarla. Forti scosse meccaniche all’unità principale aumentano l’errore nell’indicazione della posizione.
• Evitare di installare l’unità principale dove possa interferire con l’inserimento e l’estrazione della ruota di scorta, martinetto, attrezzi, ecc.
• Controllare che il CD-ROM possa essere estratto quando l’unità principale è installata.
• Installare l’unità principale su una superficie non inclinata oltre 10°. Una superficie più inclinata aumenta l’errore per l’indicazione della posizione.

• Se si usa il sistema di navigazione mobile al di fuori delle aree dove è permesso PIO-
NEER, la posizione può non essere indicata correttamente.
• Non installare l’unità principale verticalmente. L’installazione in tale modo causa funzionamenti erronei.

• L’antenna deve essere installata su una superficie piana dove le onde radio siano bloccate il meno possibile. Le onde radio non possono essere ricevute dall’antenna se la ricezione dal satellite
è bloccata.
Si consiglia l’installazione sul tetto del veicolo o sul coperchio del bagagliaio per ottenere una ricezione migliore.

• Quando si installa l’antenna GPS all’interno del veicolo, assicurarsi di usare la lastra metallica in dotazione al sistema. Se non se ne fa uso, la sensibilità di ricezione è scadente.
• Non tagliare la lastra metallica in dotazione per ridurne le dimensioni. Questo riduce la sensibilità dell’antenna GPS.
• Fare attenzione a non tirare il cavo dell’antenna quando si rimuove l’antenna GPS. Il magnete applicato all’antenna è molto potente e il cavo potrebbe staccarsi.
• L’antenna GPS è installata con il suo magnete. Quando si installa l’antenna GPS, fare attenzione a non graffiare la carrozzeria.
• Quando si installa l’antenna GPS all’esterno dell’auto, inserirla sempre nell’auto quando si passa attraverso un autolavaggio. Se viene lasciata all’esterno può essere spinta via e graffiare la carrozzeria.
• Non pitturare l’antenna GPS, perché questo può interferire con le sue prestazioni.

Note sulle pile
• Assicurarsi che le pile siano inserite con i terminali positivo (+) e negativo (–) orientati correttamente.
• Non mischiare pile vecchie e nuove.
• Non mischiare pile di tipi diversi. Anche se la forma è la stessa, la tensione può essere differente.
• Estrarre le pile dal telecomando quando non lo si usa per un lungo periodo.
• Se si verificano perdite di fluido, eliminare completamente il fluido dal comparto pile prima di inserire pile nuove.
• Queste pile non possono essere ricaricate.
• Quando si sostituiscono le pile, raccomandiamo di usare pile alcaline.

Applicare i pezzi piccoli di nastro velcro in dotazione (lato ruvido) al retro del telecomando e il pezzo più grande di nastro velcro (lato morbido) alla superficie di installazione.

Note per l’uso del telecomando
• Proteggere sempre il telecomando dalla luce solare diretta e da temperature elevate. Se si lascia il telecomando in luoghi esposti alla luce solare diretta o temperature elevate per lunghi periodi, ne possono risultare deformazioni, scoloriture e problemi di funzionamento.
• Sostituire le pile quando le prestazioni del telecomando peggiorano.

1. Ricollegare la batteria.
Innanzitutto controllare due volte che tutti i collegamenti siano corretti e che l’unità sia installata correttamente. Rimontare tutte le componenti del veicolo precedentemente rimosse. Quindi ricollegare il cavo negativo (–) al terminale negativo (–) della batteria.
2. Avviare il motore.
3. Premere il pulsante di inizializzazione sull’unità principale.
Premere il pulsante di inizializzazione sull’unità principale usando un oggetto appuntito come la punta di una penna.

• Het Pioneer autonavigatiesysteem is uitsluitend bedoeld als hulp bij het vinden van de weg naar uw bestemming e.d. U mag het autonavigatiesysteem niet beschouwen als een vervanging voor uw eigen beoordelingsvermogen en alertheid tijdens het rijden.
• Gebruik het autonavigatiesysteem niet wanneer u bijvoorbeeld in noodgevallen de weg naar een ziekenhuis of politiebureau wilt weten. De wegenkaart bevat namelijk niet alle informatie betreffende deze diensten.
• Bedien het autonavigatiesysteem niet onder omstandigheden waarbij u alle aandacht voor de weg nodig heeft. Neem altijd de plaatselijke verkeersregels en de vereiste veiligheidsmaatregelen in acht.
• Gebruik het PIONEER autonavigatiesysteem enkel op plaatsen waar dit is toegaestaan.
• In deze handleiding wordt de inbouw van het autonavigatie-apparaat in uw auto beschreven. De bediening van het apparaat wordt beschreven in de afzonderlijke gebruiksaanwijzing die bij het apparaat wordt geleverd.

BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSMAATREGELEN
LEES DEZE INFORMATIE BETREFFENDE UW AUTONAVIGATIESYSTEEM
ZORGVULDIG DOOR EN BEWAAR DE INFORMATIE VOOR EVENTUELE
NASLAG.
1. Lees de handleiding zorgvuldig door voordat u het autonavigatiesysteem gaat inbouwen.
2. Bewaar de handleiding voor eventuele naslag in de toekomst.
3. Neem alle waarschuwingsinformatie in acht en volg de instructies nauwkeurig op.
4. Dit autonavigatiesysteem is uitsluitend bedoeld als hulp bij het vinden van de weg naar uw bestemming e.d. U mag het systeem niet beschouwen als een vervanging voor uw eigen beoordelingsvermogen en alertheid tijdens het rijden. Bedien het autonavigatiesysteem niet onder omstandigheden waarbij u alle aandacht voor de weg nodig heeft. Neem altijd de plaatselijke verkeersregels en de vereiste veiligheidsmaatregelen in acht.
5. Onder bepaalde omstandigheden kan het autonavigatiesysteem foutieve informatie op het scherm tonen betreffende de positie van uw auto, de afstand tot bepaalde plaatsen die u op het scherm ziet en de kompasrichting. Ook heeft het systeem een aantal beperkingen zoals het ontbreken van informatie over eenrichtingswegen, tijdelijke verkeersomleidingen en eventuele gevaarlijke routes. Uw eigen beoordelingsvermogen heeft daarom te allen tijde voorrang boven de informatie die het systeem geeft.
6. Evenals bij het gebruik van andere accessoires in uw auto dient u erop te letten dat het autonagivatiesysteem niet uw aandacht van de weg afleidt. Indien u moeilijkheden heeft bij de bediening van het apparaat of als de informatie op het beeldscherm niet duidelijk is, parkeer de auto dan op een veilige plaats langs de weg voordat u het probleem probeert op te lossen.
7. Probeer het autonavigatie-systeem niet zelf in te bouwen of onderhoud aan het systeem te verrichten. Inbouwen en onderhoud van elektronische apparatuur en auto-accessoires door personen die niet de vereiste vakopleiding en ervaring hebben in dit soort werkzaamheden, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok of een andere gevaarlijke situatie.
8. Tijdens het rijden dient u altijd de veiligheidsgordel te dragen. Bij een ongeluk is de kans op letsel aanzienlijk groter als u de veiligheidsgordel niet draagt.

Aansluitingen
BELANGRIJK
• Pioneer raadt u af het apparaat zelf in te bouwen of eventueel onderhoud te verrichten. Bij verkeerd inbouwen of onderhoud bestaat de kans op een elektrische schok of een andere gevaarlijke situatie. Laat inbouwen en onderhoud van het apparaat over aan bevoegd Pioneer servicepersoneel.
• Maak alle draden met kabelklemmen of isolatietape vast. Let er tevens op dat er geen draden bloot liggen.
• Boor geen gat in het motorruimteschot om de oranje draad van het apparaat naar de auto-accu te leiden. Door de motortrillingen kan de aangebrachte isolatie losraken op de plaats waar de draad van het interieur naar de motorruimte loopt, met een gevaarlijke situatie tot gevolg. Zorg ervoor dat u de draad op de diverse plaatsen stevig vastmaakt.
• Wanneer de GPS antennedraad of de microfoondraad zich rond de stuurkolom of de versnellingspook wikkelt, ontstaat een bijzonder gevaarlijke situatie. Let er bij het inbouwen van het apparaat op dat u op geen enkele wijze gehinderd wordt bij de normale besturing van de auto.
• Zorg ervoor dat de draden de beweging van de diverse onderdelen van de auto zoals de versnellingspook, de handrem of het stoelverschuivingsmechanisme niet hinderen.
• Laat de draden niet langs plaatsen lopen waar deze blootgesteld worden aan hoge temperaturen. Als de isolatie van de draden erg warm wordt, kunnen de draden beschadigd raken met kortsluiting tot gevolg.
• Maak de GPS antennedraad niet korter en ook niet langer. Wijzigen van de antennedraad kan resulteren in kortsluiting.
• Maak ook geen enkele andere draad korter. Het is anders mogelijk dat het beveiligingscircuit niet juist werkt.
• Tap nooit stroom af van de stroomtoevoerdraad van het autonavigatiesysteem voor de voeding van andere elektronische apparatuur.
De stroomcapaciteit van de draad kan overschreden worden, met oververhitting tot gevolg.
Alvorens u het apparaat inbouwt
• Dit apparaat is ontworpen voor gebruik in auto's met een 12-volt, negatief-geaarde accu.
Controleer de accuspanning voordat u het apparaat inbouwt (dit geldt in het bijzonder wanneer u het apparaat inbouwt in een campingbus, vrachtauto of bus).
• Maak de massakabel (–) van de accu los, om kortsluiting tijdens het inbouwen te voorkomen.
Voorkomen van beschadigingen
• Wanneer u een stekker lostrekt, pak dan de stekker zelf vast. Trek niet aan de draad, want het is mogelijk dat u deze uit de stekker trekt.

Opmerking: De plaats waar het snelheidsdetectiecircuit zich bevindt, hangt af van het automodel. Zie voor nadere bijzonderheden de hierop betrekking hebbende documentatie van Pioneer. Wanneer u het systeem inbouwt in een auto die niet in de documentatie wordt vermeld of waarbij het systeem niet op het snelheidsdetectiecircuit kan worden aangesloten, dient u de ND-PG1 snelheidspulsgenerator (los verkrijgbaar) op de roze draad aan te sluiten.
Opmerking: De plaats waar de handremschakelaar zich bevindt, hangt af van het automodel. Zie het instructieboekje van de auto of vraag uw autodealer.

RIJSNELHEIDSSIGNAAL
Via deze draad wordt het rijsnelheidssignaal aan het autonavigatiesysteem doorgegeven. U dient de draad te verbinden met het snelheidsdetectiecircuit van de auto of met de ND-PG1 snelheidspulsgenerator (los verkrijgbaar). Indien deze verbinding niet wordt gemaakt, bestaat er een grotere kans dat de voertuigpositie foutief op het scherm wordt aangegeven.
HANDREM
Via deze draad wordt de stand van de handrem
(aangetrokken/ontspannen) aan het autonavigatiesysteem doorgegeven. De draad moet verbonden worden met de stroomaansluiting van de handremschakelaar. Als deze verbinding verkeerd wordt gemaakt of niet wordt gemaakt, zullen sommige functies van het autonavigatiesysteem niet werken.

VOORRANG GESPROKEN INSTRUCTIES
Wanneer u het autonavigatiesysteem in combinatie met een Pioneer car-stereo installatie gebruikt en de car-stereo van geel/zwarte draden
(MUTE) is voorzien, sluit u die draden hierop aan. Wanneer het autonavigatiesysteem dan gesproken instructies geeft of als u het systeem via spraak bedient, zal het geluid van de car-stereo automatisch gedempt worden.
Opmerking: Bij sommige auto's zijn de + en - draden van het achteruitrijlicht verwisseld. U dient de paarse draad te verbinden met de draad waarvan de spanning verandert wanneer de schakelhendel in de Achteruit wordt gezet.
Aansluitmethode
Klem de + draad van het achteruitrijlicht in de stekker vast.
ACHTERUITVERSNELLING-SIGNAAL
Via deze draad wordt aan het autonavigatiesysteem doorgegeven of de auto vooruit of achteruit rijdt. De draad moet verbonden worden met de primaire draad van het achteruitrijlicht.

BELANGRIJK
• Pioneer raadt u af het apparaat zelf in te bouwen of eventueel onderhoud te verrichten. Bij verkeerd inbouwen of onderhoud bestaat de kans op een elektrische schok of een andere gevaarlijke situatie. Laat inbouwen en onderhoud van het apparaat over aan bevoegd Pioneer servicepersoneel.
• Monteer het apparaat nooit op een plaats waar:
* Het apparaat letsel kan toebrengen aan de bestuurder of de passagiers wanneer plotseling hard geremd wordt.
* Het apparaat de bestuurder kan hinderen bij het besturen van de auto
(bijv. op de vloer vóór de bestuurdersstoel).
• Controleer of er niets achter het dashboard of de panelen zit wanneer u hierin gaten gaat boren. Wees voorzichtig dat u geen brandstofleidingen, remleidingen of stroomkabels beschadigt.
• Wanneer u schroeven gebruikt, let er dan op dat deze niet in contact komen met de elektrische bedrading. De bedrading zou beschadigd kunnen raken door de voertuigtrillingen, wat kan leiden tot kortsluiting of andere storingen.
• Gebruik de bijgeleverde onderdelen op de voorgeschreven wijze zodat het apparaat juist wordt ingebouwd. Indien u andere onderdelen gebruikt, kunt u beschadigingen aan het apparaat veroorzaken of het apparaat kan losraken.
BELANGRIJK
• Wanneer de GPS antennedraad of de microfoondraad zich rond de stuurkolom of de versnellingspook wikkelt, ontstaat een bijzonder gevaarlijke situatie. Let er bij het inbouwen van het systeem op dat u op geen enkele wijze gehinderd wordt bij de normale besturing van de auto.
• Zorg ervoor dat de draden niet loshangen en geraakt kunnen worden door een portier of stoelverschuivingsmechanisme, met eventueel kortsluiting tot gevolg.
• Controleer nadat u het autonavigatiesysteem heeft ingebouwd of de andere apparatuur in uw auto naar behoren werkt.
Voorkomen van elektromagnetische storing in het autonavigatiesysteem
• Om elektromagnetische storing in het autonavigatiesysteem te voorkomen, dient u het hoofdapparaat en de GPS antenne uit de buurt van de FM/MG/LG antenne en het
FM/MG/LG antennesnoer te installeren. Bij elektromagnetische storingen is de kans groter dat de voertuigpositie foutief op het scherm wordt aangegeven.
Alvorens het apparaat definitief te bevestigen
• Controleer na het maken van de aansluitingen of het autonavigatiesysteem juist werkt voordat u het apparaat definitief bevestigt.
Alvorens de kleefstroken vast te plakken
• Zorg dat het oppervlak waarop u de kleefstrook gaat aanbrengen droog is en vrij van stof, olie, vet enz.

Inbouwen van het hoofdapparaat
Opmerkingen betreffende het inbouwen
• Monteer het hoofdapparaat niet op een plaats waar het apparaat blootgesteld staat aan hoge temperaturen of vocht, zoals:
* In de buurt van verwarmingsroosters.
* Op plaatsen blootgesteld aan direct zonlicht, zoals op het dashboard of op de hoedenplank.
• Op plaatsen waar water op het apparaat terecht kan komen, zoals dicht in de buurt van een portier.
• De degelijkheid van de inbouw hangt af van de auto waarin het apparaat wordt ingebouwd en de inbouwplaats. Kies een plaats uit waar u het apparaat stevig kunt bevestigen en monteer het apparaat zorgvuldig. Als het apparaat niet stevig is bevestigd, bestaat er een grotere kans dat de voertuigpositie foutief op het scherm wordt aangegeven.
• Monteer het apparaat niet op de afdekplaat van het reservewiel of op andere plaatsen die blootgesteld worden aan sterke trillingen.
• Als het apparaat onder een van de voorstoelen wordt gemonteerd, let er dan goed op dat het apparaat niet de schuifbeweging van de stoel hindert.
• Monteer het apparaat niet op een plaats waar er voorwerpen op kunnen vallen. Bij harde schokken is de kans groter dat de voertuigpositie foutief op het scherm wordt aangegeven.
• Monteer het apparaat niet op een plaats waar dit kan hinderen bij de toegang tot het reservewiel, de krik, gereedschappen enz.
• Controleer of er voldoende plaats is om de CD-ROM in het apparaat te steken en eruit te nemen.
• Monteer het apparaat onder een hoek van maximaal 10 °. Als het apparaat te schuin wordt gemonteerd, is de kans groter dat de voertuigpositie foutief op het scherm wordt aangegeven.

• Als u het PIONEER autonavigatiesysteem op plaatsen gebruikt waar dit niet is toegestaan, zal uw voertuigpositie niet juist op het scherm worden aangegeven.
• Monteer het apparaat niet verticaal.
Het apparaat zal dan niet juist functioneren.

• Voordat u de gaten boort, dient u te controleren of de schroeven geen beschadigingen kunnen veroorzaken aan de diverse onderdelen van de auto

Bevestigen van de GPS antenne
BELANGRIJK
• Maak de GPS antennedraad niet korter en ook niet langer. Wijzigen van de antennedraad kan resulteren in kortsluiting.
Opmerkingen betreffende het bevestigen
• De antenne dient op een zo horizontaal mogelijk oppervlak te worden bevestigd op een plaats waar de ontvangst van de radiogolven zo min mogelijk wordt gehinderd. De antenne kan de radiogolven van de satelliet alleen ontvangen als er geen obstakel tussen de antenne en de satelliet is.
Het verdient aanbeveling de antenne op het dak of op het kofferdeksel van de auto te bevestigen.

• Indien u de GPS antenne binnenin de auto aanbrengt, gebruik dan het metalen plaatje dat bij het systeem wordt geleverd. Als dit plaatje niet gebruikt wordt, zal de ontvangstgevoeligheid onbevredigend zijn.
• Maak het bijgeleverde metalen plaatje niet kleiner, aangezien dit resulteert in een lagere gevoeligheid van de GPS antenne.
• Trek niet aan de antennedraad wanneer u de GPS antenne wilt verwijderen. De magneet van de antenne is erg krachtig en u zou de draad kunnen lostrekken van de antenne.
• De GPS antenne wordt bevestigd met behulp van de magneet. Let er bij het bevestigen van de GPS antenne op dat u geen krassen op de carrosserie veroorzaakt.
• Wanneer u de GPS antenne op de buitenzijde van de auto heeft aangebracht, dient u deze los te maken en in de auto te leggen voordat u door een autowasserette rijdt. Indien dit wordt verzuimd, kan de antenne losraken en krassen op de carrosserie veroorzaken.
• Verf de GPS antenne niet, aangezien dit de prestatie van de antenne beïnvloedt.

Bevestig het metalen plaatje op een zo horizonvaal mogelijke ondergrond op een plaats waar de GPS antenne de golven van buitenaf kan ontvangen. Plaats de GPS antenne op het metalen plaatje. (De GPS antenne heeft een magneet aan de onderzijde.)

Verwijder het beschermvel aan de onderkant van het plaatje.
Zorg dat het oppervlak waarop u het metalen plaatje gaat aanbrengen droog is en vrij van stof, olie, vet enz.
Opmerking: De onderkant van het metalen plaatje bevat een sterk kleefmiddel, dat het dashboard kan beschadigen wanneer u het plaatje verwijdert.

Gebruik de klemmen om de draad op de vereiste plaatsen tegen het interieur van de auto te bevestigen.
Opmerking:
• De ruiten van sommige auto's laten de signalen van de GPS satellieten niet door. In dat geval dient u de GPS antenne aan de buitenzijde van de auto te bevestigen.

Bevestig de GPS antenne op een zo horizonvaal mogelijke ondergrond zoals op het dak of kofferdeksel. (De GPS antenne heeft een magneet aan de onderzijde.)

Maak een U-vorige lus in de draad voordat u deze naar binnen leidt, om te voorkomen dat regenwater langs de draad in de auto druppelt.

Opmerkingen betreffende de batterijen
• Steek de batterijen met de plus (+) en min (–) polen in de juiste richting in de batterijhouder.
• Gebruik niet tegelijk een oude en een nieuwe batterij.
• Gebruik niet tegelijk verschillende typen batterijen. Het is mogelijk dat de vorm hetzelfde is, maar de batterijen toch een verschillende spanning hebben.
• Neem de batterijen uit de afstandsbediening als u deze langere tijd niet denkt te gebruiken.
• Als batterijlekkage optreedt, veeg dan de batterijhouder goed schoon voordat u nieuwe batterijen plaatst.
• De meegeleverde batterijen kunnen niet worden opgeladen.
• Wanneer de batterijen leeg zijn, verdient het aanbeveling deze weer door alkalibatterijen te vervangen.
Bevestigen van de afstandsbediening met het klittenband
Plak de twee kleine stukjes klittenband (grof) op de achterkant van de afstandsbediening en plak het grote stuk klittenband (fijn) op een geschikte plaats in de auto.

Bevestig de stukjes klittenband zodanig dat deze niet hinderen bij het openen van de batterijhouder.

Behandeling van de afstandsbediening
• Zorg dat de afstandsbediening niet is blootgesteld aan hoge temperaturen of direct zonlicht. Wanneer de afstandsbediening langere tijd aan hoge temperaturen of direct zonlicht is blootgesteld, kan deze vervormen, verkleuren of defect raken.
• Vervang de batterijen wanneer het funktioneren van de afstandsbediening afneemt.

• Monteer de microfoon op een plaats en in de richting waarin deze het stemgeluid van de persoon die het systeem via spraak bedient goed kan opvangen.

Gebruik de klemmen om de draad op de vereiste plaatsen tegen het interieur van de auto te bevestigen.
BELANGRIJK
• Wanneer de microfoondraad zich rond de stuurkolom of de versnellingspook wikkelt, ontstaat een bijzonder gevaarlijke situatie. Let er bij het aanbrengen van de microfoon op dat u op geen enkele wijze gehinderd wordt bij de normale besturing van de auto.
Nadat het apparaat is ingebouwd
1. Sluit de accu aan.
Controleer nogmaals of alle aansluitingen op de juiste wijze zijn gemaakt en het apparaat correct is ingebouwd. Monteer de auto-onderdelen die u bij het inbouwen van het apparaat heeft verwijderd. Sluit tot slot de massakabel (–) weer op de massapool (–) van de accu aan.
2. Start de motor.
3. Druk op de terugsteltoets van het apparaat.
Druk met een spits voorwerp zoals de punt van een pen op de terugsteltoets van het apparaat.

4 Neem het autonavigatiesysteem in gebruik.
