3 Attach the trays.

Attach the document exit tray and flip out the extension

Attach the paper tray

Attach the received document tray

Pull the received document tray extension all the way out

4 Load paper.

Fan the paper, and tap the edges against a flat surface to even the stack.

The stack should not be higher than this line

Pull the paper plate forward and insert the paper

print side up.

5 1. Connect the phone line cord to the TEL. LINE jack and a wall jack.

2. Plug the power cord into a

120 V grounded outlet.

Note: If you are loading legal paper, see pages 45 and 48 of the manual to change the paper size setting to LEGAL (first install the print cartridge).

Install the Print Cartridge.

1. Open the operation panel.

2. Remove only the tape from the new cartridge.

IMPORTANT: Make sure all tape is removed.

Caution! Do not touch the gold contact area.

3. Make sure the cartridge holder is in the position shown. Place your fingers on top of the holder and open the holder release.

4. Insert the new print cartridge (

➊).

Close the holder (

➋), making sure it clicks into place.

5. Close the cover, pressing firmly on both front corners.

to select NEW.

The machine will print an alignment page.

Display: CHANGE CARTRIDGE

1=NEW, 2=OLD

7. In the alignment page, locate the line that is closest to a completely straight line. Enter the number of that line.

Example:

(To clear a mistake, press .)

In this example, “15” is closest to a straight line

7 Setup for Fax to E-mail

To use Fax to E-mail you must:

1. Have an Internet connection

2. Have a router, hub, or switch through which the machine can be connected to the

Internet.

Connect one end of an

Ethernet cable (not included)* to the LAN port on the machine, and the other end to a LAN port on your router, switch, or hub.

*Please purchase a 10Base-T/

100Base-TX straight-through

(regular) Ethernet cable.

8. Press .

Note: To enter your name and fax number and set the date and time so that they appear at the top of each fax page you send, see pages 11 -

12 of the manual.

The machine requires an IP address to communicate.

Most networks assign an IP address automatically when a device is connected.

If your network requires that a permanent IP address be assigned to the machine, see page 23 of the manual.

See page 17 of the manual to configure the E-mail settings (“SENDER

ADDRESS” and “SMTP

SERVER” must be configured to use Fax to Email).

3 Acople las bandejas.

Acople la bandeja de salida de documentos y voltee la extensión

Acople la bandeja del papel

4 Cargue el papel.

Abanique la pila de papel y golpee sus bordes contra una superficie plana para hacerla uniforme.

Acople la bandeja de documentos recibidos

La pila no debería sobrepasar esta línea.

Saque la extensión de la bandeja de documentos recibidos completamente hacia afuera

5 1. Conecte el cable telefónico al jack TEL. LINE y al jack de la pared.

2. Enchufe el cable de alimentación en la toma de tierra de 120 V.

Saque la placa del papel e introduzca la cara del papel

hacia arriba.

Nota: Si va a cargar papel tipo Legal, consulte las páginas

45 y 48 del manual para cambiar el ajuste del tamaño de papel a LEGAL (primero instale el cartucho de impresión).

Instale el cartucho de impresión.

1. Abra el panel de mandos.

2. Quite la cinta únicamente del cartucho nuevo.

IMPORTANTE: Asegúrese de quitar toda la cinta.

¡Cuidado! No toque la zona dorada de contacto.

3. Asegúrese de que el soporte del cartucho esté en la posición que se muestra. Coloque sus dedos sobre el soporte y abra el seguro del mismo.

4. Introduzca el cartucho de impresión nuevo ( ➊). Cierre el soporte (➋), asegurándose de que quede en su lugar (oirá un chasquido).

5. Cierre la cubierta, oprimiendo firmemente en las dos esquinas frontales.

1=NEW, 2=OLD

6. a. Oprima para seleccionar NEW.

b. Oprima .

El aparato imprimirá una página de alineación.

7. Busque la línea que le parezca más recta en la página de alineación. Introduzca el número de esa línea.

Ejemplo:

(Para borrar un número equivocado, oprima

En este ejemplo, el “15” es el más cercano a una línea recta.

8. Oprima .

Nota: Para introducir su nombre y número de fax y programar la fecha y la hora de modo que aparezcan en la parte superior de cada documento que envíe, consulte las páginas 11 y 12 del manual.

7 Configuración de Fax a Correo electrónico

Para utilizar Fax a Correo electrónico deberá contar con:

1. Una conexión al Internet

2. Un enrutador, conmutador o concentrador a través del cual pueda conectar su aparato al Internet.

Conecte un extremo de un cable Ethernet (no se incluye)* al puerto LAN del aparato, y el otro extremo a un puerto LAN de su enrutador, conmutador o concentrador.

*Sírvase en comprar un cable de

Ethernet de conexión directa

(regular) 10Base-T/100Base-TX.

El aparato necesita una dirección IP para comunicarse. La mayoría de las redes asignan automáticamente una dirección IP cuando se conecta un dispositivo.

Si su red requiere la asignación de una dirección IP permanente a su aparato, consulte la página

23 del manual.

Consulte la página 17 del manual para configurar el ajuste de Correo electrónico (se deben configurar “SENDER

ADDRESS” y “SMTP

SERVER” para poder utilizar la función Fax a

Correo electrónico).
