Dear Customer

Thank you for purchasing the Solar Pest Repeller.

Activated by movement up to 8m and within a 110 degree range, the Passive

Infra-Red Solar Pest Repeller has been designed specifically to scare away unwelcome intruders with a powerful blast of harmless ultra-sound and a piercing bright flashing LED light. Whether it’s a neighbour’s dog or cat, a fox, squirrels, rabbits, rats or birds, just scare them off instead of using harmful chemicals, traps or poison. Features include; an adjustable setting to target either small or large animals, a dial to adjust the frequency setting so as to target specific animal types, a flashing LED light and a Universal program, it’s on guard 24/7, powered by three AA rechargeable batteries, recharged free through its solar panel, or by mains through its USB port. Either wall mount or stake into the ground. Measuring H13xW8xD5cm. Stake measures 27cm high.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES

The battery compartment is on the back of the unit, and can be accessed by removing the 4 retaining screws. If they have not already been pre-inserted, place the batteries (provided) in to the compartment, ensuring that the polarity of the batteries matches that of the + and – symbols embossed in each of the battery spaces. Close the battery compartment and secure with the 4 screws provided. BEFORE FIRST TIME USE THE BATTERIES WILL NEED TO BE

CHARGED EITHER BY SOLAR POWER OR BY USB, place in full daylight for

8 hours or by using the USB cable provided to charge from a computer USB port to the socket on the base of the Pest Repeller.

In normal conditions just keeping this product in full daylight during the day will be enough to keep this product fully charged, but additional charging using the

USB cable provided may be necessary during winter months and after several days of overcast weather. This device has a built-in low battery warning, after the item is switched on (turning the Freq knob up from 0) a red LED will flash briefly to show the batteries have power, but if you notice that while unit is switched on the red LED flashes continuously to signify that the batteries are low and need charging.

Est. 1992 everyday solutions

If you are charging by solar power you may wish to reconsider the position of the Solar Pest Repeller so that is in a better position for sunlight. Alternatively customers can use the provided USB cable plugged in to the DC socket on the base of the Solar Pest Repellers and a USB socket on a computer to charge the batteries, when it is fully charged the red LED will stay on permanently, but this will go out when it is unplugged from the USB. This device has built in over charge protection, so that it cannot be overcharged in both solar and USB charging modes.

OPERATION

When the motion sensor detects movement a strong ultrasonic sound is produced to frighten animals, but that is inaudible to humans so as not to cause a nuisance. For best performance the frequency knob should be switched to the animal you wish to deter.

“FREQ” Control Position:

- 0: This is the off position

- 1: 13.5kHz-17.5kHz Repels animals such as mice, small rodents, ...

- 2: 15.5kHz-19.5kHz Repels animals such as large dogs, foxes ...

- 3: 19.5kHz-23.5kHz Repels animals such as small dogs, cats, birds ...

- 4: No ultrasonic sound is produced, instead the LEDs flash to scare away unwanted animals

- 5: The unit produces a sound that sweeps up and down the frequencies and the LED’s flash, it should be noted that selecting one of the other frequency settings above will be more effective when dealing with specific animal type.

“SENS” Control – This adjusting sensitivity of the motion sensor. By turning the knob clockwise the area scanned is increased. To repel small animals, such as mice, ‘Sens’ should be turned fully clockwise.

WHERE TO PLACE THE DEVICE

The Solar Pest Repeller should be positioned in a sunny area, with the front of the repeller facing the area of detection / protection.
