This Shredder is guaranteed for a period of one year from the date of original purchase. At Rexel's discretion, the faulty shredder will be repaired or replaced should breakdown occur as a result of a manufacturing defect.

This guarantee specifically excludes faults or breakdowns occurring as a result of accidental or intentional misuse, damage caused during transit, fair wear and tear, or failure to operate or maintain the machine in accordance with the manufacturer's intructions. Work carried out as a result of these actions will be charged at the manufacturer's or approved Service Agent's rates prevailing at the time of repair. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Introduction

Thank you for choosing this Shredder from Rexel. We are sure it will serve you well, but please take a little time to study these instructions to ensure that you get the best out of your machine.

Safety First

Shredders are safe to use so long as you take a few simple safety precautions:

• Ensure the machine is plugged into an easily accessible power outlet, and ensure the flex is not likely to trip up a passer by.

• Do not operate the machine unless it is located on the waste bin provided.

• The models V-25/V-55/V-125 have a cross cut action, which is potentially more hazardous than the straight cut models V-20/V-50/V-120 – do not attempt to operate the machine unless it is correctly seated on the bin.

• Do not attempt to put your hand inside the bypass entry at any time, particularly when the machine is in operation.

• Any attempt to repair this unit by unqualified personnel will invalidate the warranty. Please return to supplier.

• Do not use cleaning solutions on the surface of this machine! Clean with wet cloth and soap only

Operation

1.

Push the switch to the on position ( I ).

2.

Feed paper into the entry to activate the auto start trigger.

3.

Cutters will stop automatically after the paper has passed through the head.

4.

Empty the waste basket regularly to ensure the shredder exit does not become blocked with paper.

5.

When not in use, move the switch to the off position (O).

Clearing Paper Overloads

1.

If the machine stops due to excessive paper volume, move the switch to the reverse position ( R ) and hold until the paper has cleared from the exit.

2.

Separate the sheets and re-feed a smaller quantity.

3.

If the sheet jams when reversing, tear off the accessible sheets and move the switch to the forward position. If this fails to clear, repeat the process again.

4.

In the case of serious paper jam, please take the unit to your authorised service provider.

5.

Warning – do not under any circumstances use any metal objects (scissors, letter openers, etc.) in an attempt to clear the entry – this model has mains voltage inside the casing, which could cause serious injury.

Cross Cut Models

1.

The cross-cut models use a sharpening cutting mechanism, which make the exit of the unit dangerous when in use. Always ensure the unit is correctly seated on the waste basket provided before operation.

2.

Disconnect from the power supply when removing paper manually from the exit.

3.

Take extra care when this unit is in use near young children (for example in the home office) – ensure they are not left unattended when this machine is connected to the power supply.

4.

It may be necessary to oil the cutters on a cross cut model occasionally, particularly at times of higher use. Simply apply directly to the cutters either in spray or bottle form. Shredder oil is of a heavier grade than Aerosol lubricants such as WD40, which are not suitable for shredders – please consult your stockist for details of Rexel shredder oil.

Warranty

This product is guaranteed for 24 months from date of purchase – please return the unit to your supplier if you experience any problems. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Introductie

Hartelijk dank voor de aanschaf van deze REXEL papiervernietiger. We zijn er van overtuigd dat u veel plezier van uw aankoop zult hebben. We raden u aan deze gebruiksaanwijzing goed door te lezen, zodat u optimaal van uw papiervernietiger kunt profiteren.

Veiligheid voor alles !

Papiervernietigers zijn veilig in gebruik, zolang u enkele eenvoudige veiligheidsregels in acht neemt:

• Zorg dat de stekker in een gemakkelijk toegankelijk stopcontact zit en dat niemand over het snoer kan struikelen.

• Stel het apparaat niet in werking tenzij het op de bijgeleverde afvalbak is geplaatst.

• De typen V-25/V-55/V-125 zijn snippervernietigers en dienen extra voorzichtig te worden gebruikt in vergelijk met de strokenvernietigers V-20/V-50/V-120 – probeer niet om het apparaat in werking te stellen mits het zorgvuldig op de afvalbak is geplaatst.

• Steek uw hand nooit in de invoeropnening, vooral niet als het apparaat in werking is.

• Reparatie dient alleen te worden uitgevoerd door de REXEL Technische Dienst in NL en BeLux.

Reparatie of een poging daartoe door anderen leidt tot het vervallen van de garantie.

• Gebruik geen reinigingsmiddelen om de buitenzijde van de machine te reinigen!

Bediening

1.

Zet de schakelaar in de aan-stand (I).

2.

Voer het papier in in de invoeropening om het vernietigingsproces automatisch te starten.

3.

De machine stopt automatisch wanneer het papier door het snijwerk is gevoerd.

4.

Leeg de afvalbak regelmatig om ervoor te zorgen dat de uitvoeropening van de papiervernietiger niet door papier wordt geblokkeerd.

5.

Wanneer het apparaat niet in gebruik is, zet de schakelaar dan in de uit-stand (O).

Verhelpen van papierstoringen

1.

Als het apparaat stopt doordat er teveel papier is ingevoerd, zet de schakelaar dan in de achteruitstand (R) en houd de knop ingedrukt tot het papier uit de machine is gekomen.

2.

Verdeel het papier in kleinere hoeveelheden en voer deze opnieuw in.

3.

Als het apparaat verstopt raakt in de achteruit-stand, scheur dan de bladen waar u bij kunt af, en zet de schakelaar in de vooruit-stand. Als de verstopping hierna nog niet is verholpen, herhaal deze handelingen dan.

4.

Bij een ernstige papierstoring raden wij u aan om de papiervernietiger naar de REXEL Technische

Dienst te brengen.

5.

Waarschuwing – probeer nooit om met metalen voorwerpen (scharen, briefopeners, etc) papier uit de invoeropening los te maken ; dit kan tot ernstige verwondingen leiden, aangezien diverse onderdelen binnen de behuizing van dit type papiervernietiger onder netspanning staan.

Snippervernietigers

1.

De snippervernietigers bevatten een extra scherp snijwerk, zorg er altijd voor dat de machine goed op de afvalbak is geplaatst voordat u het in werking stelt.

2.

Schakel de stroomtoevoer uit wanneer u handmatig papier uit de uitvoer-opening verwijdert.

3.

Wees extra voorzichtig wanneer dit apparaat in de buurt van kinderen wordt gebruikt (wanneer u bijvoorbeeld uw kantoor aan huis heeft) – laat geen kinderen alleen met de papiervernietiger wanneer de stekker in het stopcontact zit.

4.

Bij snippervernietigers is het af en toe nodig om het snijwerk te oliën, vooral wanneer het apparaat intensief wordt gebruikt. U kunt de olie direct met een spuitbus of fles in het snijwerk spuiten. De meeste algemeen verkrijgbare smeeroliesoorten zijn van een te lichte kwaliteit voor papiervernietigers – raadpleeg uw REXEL leverancier voor verdere informatie over REXEL papiervernietigerolie.

Garantie

De garantie voor dit product geldt voor 24 maanden vanaf de datum van aankoop. Mochten zich problemen met de papiervernietiger voordoen, breng het apparaat dan terug naar uw leverancier of neem kontakt op met de REXEL Technische Dienst in uw land. Hierdoor worden uw wettelijke rechten niet beïnvloed.
