Höhe von 1 HE (1 Höheneinheit = 44,5 mm) benötigt.

5.3 Bedienung

3 Applications

The wireless microphone system TXS-262SET consists of two microphones, each with an integrated battery-operated transmitter, an integrated antenna, and the corresponding receiver. This systems allows wireless transmission of music and speech from the two microphones to the receiver. The operating range is approx. 30 m and depends on the local conditions.

The receiver uses true diversity technique. The transmission signal is received by two separate antennas placed at a distance from each other and then separately processed in two receiver parts. In each case, the better signal of the two receiver parts is switched to the output by the electronics.

The system can be extended to a total of four transmission channels. For this purpose, the “img

Stage Line” range offers various modules. For selection and installation of the modules see chapter 6

“Possibilities of Extension”.

4 Installation

The receiver is designed for use as a table top unit or for insertion into a rack (482 mm/19") For rack installation, screw the two supplied mounting brackets to the left and the right sides of the receiver housing. A height of 1 rack space (44.5 mm) is required for rack installation.

For mounting the reception antennas to the front panel in case of rack installation, use the mounting brackets TXS-35BNC by “img Stage Line” available as accessories instead of the brackets supplied with the system. Each bracket is provided with a BNC jack which is connected to the antenna jack of the receiver via a fixed extension cable.

To install the antennas at a greater distance to the receiver, the mounting brackets TXS-100BNC by

“img Stage Line” can be used in addition. The length of the connecting cable of these brackets is 1 m.

3.1 Approval of the system

This system has been tested according to the relevant standards of the R + TTE directive. The declarations of conformity for the wireless transmitters can be found in the Internet on the MONACOR INTER-

NATIONAL home page: www.imgstageline.de

In the Federal Republic of Germany, a frequency assignment (for which a charge is payable) is required for the wireless transmitters. The forms and notes concerning the registration for the transmitters can be found in the Internet on the Web site of the

Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency) under www.bundesnetzagentur.de. In other countries, it is necessary to apply for a corresponding approval.

Prior to operating the system outside Germany, please contact the MONACOR subsidiary or the corresponding authorities of the respective country.

5 Operation

5.1 Power supply

5.1.1 Receiver

1) Connect the supplied mains cable first to the mains jack (12) of the receiver and then to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

2) For an operation of the transmission system independent of a mains power supply, power supply of the receiver is also possible via a 12 V battery

(e. g. car battery). Connection is made via the low voltage jack DC INPUT (14). For this purpose, a low voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameters) is required. The positive pole must be applied to the tip of the plug.

5.1.2 Microphone

1) Unscrew the screw cap (20) at the lower end of the microphone.

2) Insert a 9 V battery with the positive and negative connections according to the marking in the battery compartment (21). Screw on the cap (20).

3) With a new battery, the microphone can be operated for approx. 6 to 8 hours. If the power LED (23) does not light up with the microphone switched on, the battery is exhausted and must be replaced.

4) If the system is not used for a longer period

(e. g. more than a week), the battery should be removed. Thus, the microphone will not be damaged in case of battery leakage.

Dead batteries or defective rechargeable batteries do not belong in the household rubbish; always take them to a special waste disposal (e. g. collecting container at your retailer).

5.2 Audio and antenna connections

1) The individual audio channel outputs CHANNEL 1 to 4 of the receiver (17) can be connected to a microphone input each of a mixer. However, channels 1 and 4 can only be used after an extension

(see chapter 6). Alternatively, the master signal of all reception channels can be connected to a microphone inpult or a highly sensitive line input of a subsequent unit (e. g. mixer, amplifier) via the output MIXER OUT (16). Do not switch on the amplifier or do not advance the corresponding control of the mixer until the microphone system has been completely switched on.

IMPORTANT! Never connect the audio outputs to phantom-powered microphone inputs, otherwise the receiver will be damaged. If required, prior to connection always switch off the phantom power on the corresponding unit!

2) Connect the two antennas supplied with the system to the jacks ANTENNA (11 + 19) or to the jacks of the mounting brackets (see chapter 4

“Installation”). Place the antennas in a vertical position, fully extract them and turn them slighly away from each other. If required, replacement antennas with the designation TXS-1BNC by “img

Stage Line” are available.

5

5.3 Operation

1) Switch on the receiver with the POWER switch

(6). The power LED (5) lights up.

Further adjustments are to be made separately for each transmission channel. The operation steps below refer to one channel.

2) Switch on the threshold for the noise suppression.

Leave the microphone switched off for this purpose.

Set the SQUELCH control (9) to the position “10”.

None of the two reception LEDs A or B (8) must light up. If one or both LEDs light up, interferences are received. To suppress these interferences, turn back the SQUELCH control counter-clockwise until both LEDs A and B are extinguished. Do not turn the control any further, otherwise the microphone signal may also be suppressed.

3) Switch on the microphone with the switch (22).

The power LED (23) lights up. If it fails to light up, a new battery must be inserted.

For sound transmission, set the switch on the microphone to the upper position. In the central position, the transmitter is switched to mute, i. e. the transmitter operates but the audio signal is still muted.

4) One of the reception LEDs A or B (8) on the receiver must light up now. If they fail to light up, the reception is too poor: a Is the battery in the transmitter exhausted?

b Is the distance between transmitter and receiver too long?

The operating range is approx. 30 m.

c Is the reception disturbed e.g. by objects in the transmission path?

d Can the reception be improved by turning the reception antennas?

e Is the threshold for the noise suppression adjusted via the SQUELCH control (9) too high?

See item 2).

5) The reception volume can be monitored at the

LED LEVEL display (7). The display is independent of the VOLUME control (10). If the volume at the microphone is too high causing an overload of the microphone system, the red part of the display will light up. Reduce the volume of the sound source or increase the distance between the microphone and the sound source.

If the volume at the microphone is too low, a poor S/N ratio is obtained. Increase the volume of the sound source or reduce the distance between the microphone and the sound source.

6) Adjust the output volume of the individual reception channels to the inputs of the amplifier or the mixer via the VOLUME controls (10).

If the jack MIXER OUT (16) is used as an output, adjust the desired volume ratio of the audio channels among one other and adjust the output level coarsely to the input of the subsequent unit via the LEVEL switch (15).

7) After operation, remember to switch off the microphones as well, otherwise the batteries will be exhausted the next time the microphone system is used.

6.1 Inserting the reception module

Fig. 5 shows the insertion of a reception module into the receiver.

1) Remove the cover plate (1 or 4). For this purpose, unlock the latch of the cover plate by means of a screwdriver.

2) Remove the cover plate.

3) According to the drawing, insert the reception module to the stop.

4) Connect the cable of the receiver to the pin housing of the control panel.

5) Place the left side of the control panel on the left edge of the front panel opening and push the complete control panel into the opening until it locks into place.

6 Possibilities of Extension

The two factory-set channels operate at the frequencies of 175.00 MHz and 180.00 MHz. By inserting additional reception modules, the receiver can be extended by two additional transmission channels of the frequencies 195.25 MHz and 197.10 MHz. The following modules from the “img Stage Line” range are available:

1. il ricevitore o il cavo rete presentano dei danni visibili;

2. dopo una caduta o dopo eventi simili sussiste il sospetto di un difetto;

30 m circa e dipende dalle condizioni locali.

5 Messa in funzione

5.1 Alimentazione

5.1.1 Ricevitore

MIXER OUT (16).

è rappresentato in figura 5.
