Koppangen Brygger is the answer to everyone that searches the peace and beauty of the North Norwegian nature. The Rorbuercottages are situated in Koppangen, around 17 Kilometers from Lyngseidet and offer smaller and bigger apartments, Sauna and
Jacuzzi. Stay in the middle of the wilderness and enjoy the comfort of your accommodation while the owner provides you with fresh
and local produced food. Koppangen is the end of the western part of the Lyngenfjord and offers fantastic opportunities to see the
Northern Lights.

Itinerary
Day 1: Let us know when you arrive in Tromsø so we will pick you up either at the airport or one of the hotels in the centre of
Tromsø. The drive to the Lyngen Alps will lead through fantastic Mountains, along and over Fjords to the cosy place Koppangen.
Based on if you wish to book dinner or make it yourself, you will get a chance to buy food in the supermarkets in Lyngseidet.
Day 2: Start the day slowly with a long and cozy breakfast. Afterwards you can use snowshoes, ski or simply go on a walk
discovering your surroundings. Koppangen is situated in the middle of nature, meet moose and watch dolphins from the shore, let
yourself impress of the steep mountains falling down in the fjord and see the Northern Lights right outside your door.
After a long and exiting day dinner will await you in the Lavo. The host will provide a Dinner of local ingredients like fish or reindeer
that is directly cooked over the fireplace. Warm yourself in a cozy Lavo around the campfire, while waiting for the Polar Lights.
Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and eat some fresh made waffles for dessert, listen to the stories of your host and be ready for the light
to show up.
Day 3: After a rich breakfast you will start towards your arctic adventure, which is either Dogsledding, Snowmobiling, Ice fishing or
a Moose Safari (Ice fishing is often not available before January!).
Dogsledding: Before your tour starts the guide will provide you with warm clothes and information with regard to safety and how to
drive your team of dogs. The dogs are friendly and enjoy their work. You get a chance to get to know them on your trip where you
are surrounded by breath-taking nature, steep mountains and enchanted valleys. After you return to the basecamp you will be
provided with a warm lunch before returning to Koppangen (Arrival in Koppangen circa 16.00 o’clock).
Snowmobiling: Before your tour starts the guide will provide you with warm clothes and information with regard to safety and
functioning of the snowmobile. During the tour you will stop at several viewpoints to take pictures of the artic scenery. In the
beginning we are driving on easy terrain where we are following the valleys of the area. After you return to the basecamp you will
be provided with a warm lunch before returning to Koppangen (Arrival in Koppangen circa 16.00 o’clock).
Snowshoeing and Ice Fishing on sea ice: Transfer to the ferry that takes you to Olderdalen at 09.00. Your guide will pick you up
at the ferry in Olderdalen and drive with you to the Kåfjord. Here he will show you how to use the snowshoes and take you for a 2-3
km walk depending on skill and motivation. After the snowshoeing, we will go for the sea-ice. There we will use kick sledges
(“spark”) or snowshoes to move around. Finding a good place for ice fishing In between, we will do a bonfire and we will serve
warm drinks and snacks. You will be back with the ferry at 16:00 in Lynsgeidet.
Moose Safari with snowshoes: Transfer to the ferry that takes you to Olderdalen at 09:00. Your guide will pick you up from the
ferry in Olderdalen/at the ferry pier and drive with you to Spåkenes. Here you will receive instructions on how to walk with
snowshoes. If you need a warm suit and warm shoes, this will be provided for you. We will then take a walk around on the
Spåkenes Peninsula in search of the moose.The total walking distance depends on the group and the moose. You will walk around
2 – 3 km with the snowshoes in the snow. During the trip, we will make a bonfire and you will be served warm drinks and snacks. At
14:30 we are back at the camp. Transfer back to Olderdalen. Arrival in Olderdalen 15:00 and in Lyngseidet at 16:00.
After you are back in Koppangen let the day end with a relaxing bath in the outside Jacuzzi. If you are lucky maybe even with
Northern Lights.
Day 4: Departure day
After 3 intense days of Arctic Wilderness we will drive you back to Tromsø to the airport or if you wish to a hotel.
Day 4: when you stay 5 days:
After breakfast you can choose to visit the nearby distillery or other activities (see description day 3 – these have to be prebooked!).
At the Arctic Distillery experience (one hour – 319,- per pers), one of our qualified staff members will guide you through the
process of manufacturing various types of spirits such as vodka, aquavit, gin and whisky. You’ll get a glimpse into the mysterious
past of making moonshine in northern Norway, and learn about hi – tech alcohol production on top of the world. After the tour, you
can optionally buy tastings. It is also possible to extend your stay, enjoying local cuisine and have a look around our visitor centre.
NATO cold war experience (one hour – 319,- per pers)
At the NATO Experience, you will be guided through the “Årøybukt coastal fort” underground facilities, which was of great
importance during the cold war. You will learn about the strategic importance of the “Lyngen line” during the cold war, scorched
earth tactic of world war 2 and the thrilling tale of Jan Baalsrud, who escaped death by traversing the Lyngen alps on foot.
The guided trips take 30 – 45 minutes. There is as well a restaurant/café, where you can sit and enjoy the view over the
Lyngenfjord while eating a good lunch.
Day 5
After 4 intense days of Arctic Wilderness we will drive you back to Tromsø to the airport or if you wish to a hotel.
