ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS





Equipment Orientation and Teacher Instruction.
Wear appropriate footwear. Shoes must be fully
enclosed, no open toes. E.g. sandals
Close fitting clothes must be worn. Remove
strings hanging from pullovers/sweaters.
Aprons must be worn.
Long and loose hair must be tied back.

DO NOT use this machine unless a teacher has instructed you on its safe use and operation and
has given permission.
PRE-USE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Good housekeeping habits have been employed and that the floor and surrounding area is dry
and free of tripping hazards.
2. The operating switches and electrical cords are undamaged and in good working condition.
3. Unplug the unit when not in use and before putting on or taking off parts / accessories / and before
cleaning.
4. Choose the correct attachment suited for the task being performed.

5. Slide the attachment into the attachment shaft on the bottom of the mixer until it stops and latches
into place.
6. Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands/hair/clothing/spatulas/and other utensils away from
the beaters during operation to reduce the risk of injury or damage to the machine.
OPERATING PROCEDURE:
1. Plug in the mixer into a standard wall outlet.
2. Place the ingredients into the mixing bowl.
3. Place the hand mixer’s beaters into the bowl. The beaters should be touching the bottom of the
bowl.
4. Turn the mixer on by pushing the slide switch forward to speed 1. Push the slide switch forward to
increase the speed.
5. Use one hand to hold the bowl in place and move the beaters around the bowl to ensure the
ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
6. To turn off the mixer, position the switch to the off position and wait until the beaters stop turning.
Do not add ingredients to the bowl while the beaters are moving. This will cause ingredients to be
thrown from the bowl.
7. When mixing is completed, slide the speed control to the off position, unplug the appliance and
remove the beaters from the unit by pressing or lifting the beater release lever. The beaters will
unlatch and can be pulled out of the unit.
CLEAN UP:
1. Place beaters in hot soapy water or into the dishwasher. Clean and dry thoroughly.
2. Never put the hand mixer’s motor housing into water. Wipe the unit with a damp cloth or sponge.
3. Return the mixer to the proper storage location.
If and emergency situation occurs while conducting this task or there is an equipment malfunction, shut the
equipment off immediately and unplug it.
REPORT ANY HAZARDOUS SITUATION TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR / SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY
