Overview
Issues and workarounds
This section includes known issues and suggested workaround solutions for the current release of the
HPE ProLiant for Microsoft Azure Stack solution.
Device Manager on the HLH server displays two device
warnings for Base System Device
Symptom
Device Manager on the HLH server displays two device warnings for Base System Device.
Cause
The iLO interface driver and iLO management controller drivers are not installed on the system. The Base
System Devices represent the iLO components.
Action
This issue will be resolved in a future solution update and has no effect on normal HLH server operation.
Server manager indicates that the DHCP server must be
configured
Symptom
When the Server Manager is started and after discovery has completed, Server Manager may display an
alert indicating that the DHCP server must be configured.
Issues and workarounds
5
Cause
A DHCP server is configured during the initial solution configuration in the factory. During the course of
manufacturing the solution, the DHCP server is then disabled and the configuration is removed. The
DHCP server role is not removed.
Action
This issue will be resolved in a future solution update and has no effect on normal HLH server operation.
Time on the HLH is out of sync with current time
Symptom
Time maintained on the Hardware Lifecycle Host server, HPE OneView, and the HPE iLO may grow to be
out of sync with the current time. This disparity may also be evident with other components of the solution
that have been configured to sync with an NTP server.
Cause
The NTP server settings were not configured on the HLH and HPE OneView during the solution
configuration in the factory.
Action
If not resolved during the onsite delivery service, this issue will be resolved in future solution updates to
configure NTP for the HLH server and HPE OneView.
HPE OneView displays conflicting power delivery outlet
warning
Symptom
HPE OneView may display warnings on the Power Delivery Device page indicating there are some
outlets that have "no attached device, but power measurement indicates that something is attached".
Cause
Some devices, such as solution switches, power extension bars, KVM switch, and LCD console, do not
automatically identify themselves to HPE iPDUs.
This issue will be resolved in a future solution update and has no effect on normal solution operation. This
issue can also be manually resolved now with the following procedure.
6
Time on the HLH is out of sync with current time
Action
1. On the Unmanaged Devices screen in the HPE OneView user interface, click +Add unmanaged
device.
2. Enter information about the device, including the name, model, rack size, and power consumption.
Press Enter when finished.
The new device will appear on the Add unmanaged device screen.
3. Repeat for each non server solution component to be recognized by HPE OneView.
After adding one or more Unmanaged Devices, they can be selected as power connections on the
Power Delivery Devices page.
