V Deep Cycle Batteries
Car batteries are specially designed to provide a short, sharp
burst of power in order to crank over and start the vehicle’s
engine. Only a relatively small portion of the battery’s capacity is
used and this is restored by the vehicle’s alternator. Car batteries
have thinner lead grids and active material to maximise plate
surface area, delivering greater starting power. However they are
not reliable for providing long periods of power.

Deep Cycle batteries are constructed using thicker battery plates
and a denser active material, to withstand repeated charge and
recharge cycles. Rather than providing high bursts of power
for short periods of time, they are specially designed to deliver
sustained power with low current draw over extended periods of
time. Repeated cycling does not cause the same level of damage
that a car battery would sustain during the same process.
AGM & Gel Mounting:- Fuel, oil and other engine lubricants may
cause damage to battery casing materials. As such, it is strongly
recommended to avoid mounting AGM and Gel Deep Cycle
batteries under the bonnet. Mounting under the bonnet will
void the warranty.

Choosing the right size battery?
The size and type of deep cycle battery you select is dependant on the
applications and conditions of use. It is important to ensure there is sufficient
battery capacity (Amp Hours) to power the equipment being used.
Use the following guide to help determine the right size battery for your
needs:
1. Add the Power Consumption (Watts) of each item
of equipment being used = Total Watts.
2. Calculate the estimated time of use in hours = Total Hours.
3. Calculate Power Consumption by multiplying
Total Watts x Total Hours = Watt Hours (Wh).

Calculate Power Consumption & Time of Use
- Refrigerator, 40W for 10 hours = (40 x 10)
- Lights, 20W for 4 hours
= (20 x 4)
- Winch, 90W for 0.2 hours
= (90 x 0.2)
= 400Wh
= 80Wh
= 18Wh
Total Power Consumption
= (400+80+18)
= 498Wh
30% Safety Net

= (498 x 1.3)
= 648W
Convert power consumption to Battery Ah (80% of discharge)

Deep Cycle AGM Batteries
Century Deep Cycle AGM batteries are the ultimate in deep cycle technology and performance.
Featuring AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology, which acts as a sponge to suspend loose
electrolyte within highly porous glass fibre mat separators. This eliminates the hazards associated
with acid spills or leaks, whilst the sealed maintenance-free design avoids the need for regularly
topping up electrolyte levels.

Century Deep Cycle AGM batteries have low internal resistance and low self discharge rates,
enabling faster recharge and longer shelf life. When fully charged, they are robust enough to
be stored for extended periods of time and can be conveniently recharged using a range of
standard chargers and vehicle alternators. Century Deep Cycle AGM batteries are ideal for use
in applications where fast recharge, improved vibration resistance and superior deep cycle
performance is required.
Deep Cycle Gel Batteries
Century Deep Cycle Gel batteries utilise gel electrolyte technology, which holds the
battery plates securely in an immobilised gel. This design makes Century Deep Cycle Gel
Batteries extremely robust and resistant to spillage if accidentally tipped upside-down.
The range is completely maintenance-free, requiring no topping up of liquid electrolyte,
whilst the valve regulated sealed design enables installation in hard to reach locations.

Deep Cycle Flooded Batteries
Century Deep Cycle Flooded batteries are constructed using thicker plates, specialist antimonial
lead alloys and denser active material to withstand repeated recharge and discharge cycles.
The maintainable design enables easy access to top up electrolyte levels, for maximum control
over battery life. The premium grade raw materials and acid electrolyte ensures
