Micro
After an incubation period, swabs are rated
for bacterial growth based on color change of
media broth (ie., acidification).
•

Red
= negative
= zero
Orange = mild positive= 0.5
Yellow = strong pos = 1.0
The eight swab ratings are then tallied.
For example, the swabs in the picture total 1.5
(0 + 1 + 0.5 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0) = 1.5
This becomes the index of overall cleanliness.
