toolscreatesparkswhichmayignitethedustorfumes.
Keepbystanders,children,andvisitorsawaywhileoperatingapowertool.
Distractionscancauseyoutolosecontrol.
ElectricalSafety
Grounded tools must be plugged into an outlet properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and
ordinances.Neverremovethegroundingprongormodifythepluginanyway.Donotuseanyplugs.Checkwithaqualified
electricianifyouareindoubtastowhethertheoutletisproperlygrounded.Ifthetoolsshouldelectricallymalfunctionor
breakdown,groundingprovidesalowresistancepathtocarryelectricityawayfromtheuser.
Avoid body contact with grounded surface ad pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of
electricshockifyourbodyisgrounded.
Don'texposepowertoolstorainorwetconditions.Waterenteringapowertoolwillincreasetheriskofelectricshock
Donotabusethecord.Neverusethecordtocarrythetoolsorpulltheplugfromanoutlet.Keepcordawayfromheat,
oil,sharpedgesormovingparts.Replacedamagedcordsimmediately.Damagedcordsincreasetheriskofelectricshock.
Whenoperatingapowertooloutside,useanoutdoorextensioncordmarkedW-AorW.Thesecordsareratedforoutdoor
useandreducetheriskofelectricshock.
PersonalSafety
Stayalert,watchwhatyouaredoingandusecommonsensewhenoperatingapowertool.Donotusetoolwhiletiredor
undertheinfluenceofdrugs,alcohol,ormedication.Amomentofinflationwhileoperatingpowertoolsmayresultin
seriouspersonalinjury.
Dressproperly.Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelry.Containlonghair.Keepyourhair,clothing,andglovesawayfrom
movingparts.Looseclothes,jewelry,orlonghaircanbecaughtinmovingparts.
Avoidaccidentalstarting.Besureswitchisoffbeforepluggingin.Carryingtoolswithyourfingerontheswitchorplugging
intoolsmayresultinpersonalinjury.
Removeadjustingkeysorswitchesbeforeturningthetoolon.Awrenchorakeythatisleftattachedtoarotatingpartof
thetoolmayresultinpersonalinjury.
Donotoverreach.Keepproperfootingandbalanceatalltimes.Properfootingandbalanceenablesbettercontrolofthe
toolinunexpectedsituations.
Usesafetyequipment.Alwaysweareyeprotection.Dustmask,non-skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,orhearingprotection
mustbeusedforappropriateconditions.
TooluseandCare
Useclampsorotherpracticalwaytosecureandsupporttheworkplacetoastableplatform.Holdingtheworkbyhandor
againstyourbodyisunstableandmayleadtolossofcontrol.
Donotforcetool.Usethecorrecttoolforyourapplication.Thecorrecttoolwilldothejobbetterandsaferattheratefor
whichitisdesigned.
Donotusetoolifswitchdoesnotturnitonoroff.Anytoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchisdangerousand
mustberepaired.

Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourcebeforemakinganyadjustments,changingaccessories,orstoringthetool.
Suchpreventivesafety
Storeidletoolsoutofreachofchildrenandotheruntrainedpersons.Toolsaredangerousinthehandsofuntrainedusers.
Maintaintoolswithcare.Keepcuttingtoolssharpandclean.Properlymaintainedtools,withsharpcuttingedgesareless
likelytobindandareeasiertocontrol.
Checkformisalignmentorbindingofmovingparts,breakageofparts,andanyotherconditionthatmayaffectthetools
operation.Ifdamaged,havethetoolservicedbeforeusing.Manyaccidentsarecausedbypoorlymaintainedtools.
Useonlyaccessoriesthatarerecommendedbythemanufacturerforyourmodel.
Accessoriesthatmaybesuitableforonetool,maybecomehazardouswhenusedonanothertool.
SERVICE
Toolservicemustbeperformedonlybyqualifiedpersonnel.Serviceormaintenanceperformedbyunqualifiedpersonnel
couldresultinariskofinjury
Whenservicingatool,useonlyidenticalreplacementparts.FollowinstructionsintheMaintenancesectionofthismanual.
Useofunauthorizedpartsorfailuretofollow
Maintenanceinstructionsmaycreateariskofelectricshockorinjury.
SPECIFICSAFETYRULES
Holdtoolbyinsulatedgrippingsurfaceswhenperforminganoperationwherethecuttingtoolmaycontacthiddenwiring
oritsowncord.Contactwitha"live"wirewillmakeexposedmetalpartsofthetool"live"andshocktheoperator.
Neverlubricateaerosoloilontotheelectricalpart.

TherearetwowaysofcalibratingADCtools:
ToolCompensationA015thatcouldbeadjustedupto+/-20%.Thisisadjustedwhenanapplicationtargettorqueslightly
exceedsmaxormintorquecapacity.Mountzstronglyrecommendstoselectahigherorlowertorquecapacitytoolifthis
featurewillbeadjustedpermanently.
NOTE:ToolCompensationadjustmentaffectsonlytheselectedpreset(program),thismeansthatallotherpresetswill
remainasnormal.ToolCompensationisstoredontheControllerMemory
Tool Calibration using a torque meter master (Master must be calibrated and certified under ISO17025) to validate
percentageadjustedonA278thatcanbeadjustedupto+/-10%.Thisisadjustedwhencustomervalidatestoolwiththeir
torquemasterequipmentandthereisadifferencebetweentoolandmasterreadings.Thiscalibrationisalsoperformed
whenMountzservicesthetoolaspartofastandardprocess.
Note:ToolCalibrationaffectsallprograms(presets).ToolCalibrationisstoredontheDriverMemory
Differencebetweenthetwoisthatcompensationincreasesordecreasesthemotorpowertoachievehigherorlowertorque
andCalibrationistheactualvoltagetuningthatisadjusted(calibrated)fromfactoryusingISO17025certifiedequipment
andenvironmentconditions.
NOTE:ItisMountzrecommendationtoperiodicallyverifytorqueaccuracyofMDCtoolswithatorqueverificationmeter
andensurequalityofyourprocess.Itisuptocustomer’sstandardstodeterminehowoftenthetoolsneedstobe
validatedorcalibrated.

Whenthereadingonthetorquemetermasterislowerthanthesettingonthetool,increasethecalibrationvaluemore
than100(%)whichisbasiconproduction.Toincreasetheoutputtorque5%more,keyin105(%).Thecalibrationvalue
worksthroughwholerangeoftorque.Itwillberefreshedandstoredinthememoryofthetoolsoitcanbestilleffective
whenusingthetoolonanothercontroller.
NOTE: Different Torque Master Devices will provide different results. Make sure you always use the same ISO17025
TorqueTesterMasterDevicewiththesameaccessoriesandtestingconditions:RDA,ToolSpeed,TesterFilterSetting,
TorqueArm,etc.
